PassionFruit's Feedback

Hello,

This game is pretty awesome and I’m feeling the withdrawals and I wish I could play more. It feels a lot like PreBigBang Maplestory where it takes a lot of grind to level but I find it pretty enjoyable which I’ll explain later.

Customization:
I wish there was a way to change skin color or hair color to kinda promote more diversity but I understand it’s still beta so hopefully there will be more customization in the future or it may end up being a cash shop item. Who knows? (No RNG stuff in the cash shop please >.<)

Features:
-Family name I find to be a little different. I thought people would call me by my character name but they always reference me by my family name and when I’m in a party, I see my Family name so it’s confusing to me and hopefully, there’s a way to change how people view my name.
-Crafting is a little lackluster to me as a nonalchemist but I like how you can name your weapons made.
-Campfires could be a permanent item. Maybe I’m used to having chairs in maplestory but I think it could be a way to boost the economy and promote trading in some way. Chairs may not fit the theme in Tree of Savior but different campfires can be pretty cool with different colors and styles and it may be for people who just like collecting. Although having a limited amount of campfires does increase the difficulty in the game so take this suggestion not as super important as I do like the difficulty.
-Megaphones are what I’m worried about especially with botters and so hopefully IRC has a way to combat this but I do enjoy reading shout chat.
-Everything in this game promotes partying and teamwork. I really like that component about the game. It makes grinding easier especially hunting blue mobs, fighting bosses more fun, and other stuff. I got to know lots of different international people from Brazil, Singapore, Philippines, and more.
-Auction House had lots of bugs and I freaked out when I sold my horns and did not see it in the auction house but a few hours later, I saw that it was sold and I got money but still, it should definitely be fixed. I also worry in the real game, weapons will get super inflated. It took hours to raise 75k silver to try to buy a weapon only to find it was sold so hopefully, there will be no duplication hacks to mess with AH.
-Quests were alright. Not too bad. Some bugs like the magic circle quest but it was alright. The rewards definitely made things difficult which I’ll explain in the next section.
-Costumes are a pretty interesting idea. It shows what class/circle you are but I think when cosmetics come into the cash shop, things will get more diverse and difficult to determine what classes are other people are when they aren’t attacking.
-Attributes had some text problems like the one for aggressor, some equips had text problems, sometimes the text did not fit in the text box either so something to work on.
-Party events was new to me. I learned about it from someone in beta where if you’re in a party for a long time, you can fight a party event boss together to get awesome accessories so that was fun and definitely a way to promote party play and bond with strangers.

Difficulty:
-The grind is definitely real but it’s enjoyable. Chatting with people while grinding helps kill time and character progression feels much worthwhile. Hopefully the company will having 2x exp events or increased blue mob rate events which will definitely cause people to log in and play and I worry it may overload the servers because 3 servers for this beta was almost enough (still had lag in certain places) but having those exp or mob events would definately make the game more enjoyable.
It’s still a casual game to me as I’ve played about 5 hours every night and progressed pretty far. I can imagine that if I had only an hour a day to play this, I would still find this game fun even if all I do is grind. This game is pretty addicting too as I find myself losing sleep and feeling fatigued the next day lol. Just for the next betas, hopefully there will be an increased exp rate just to test out the other content though but this exp rate is fine for me.
-Finding new equipment was definitely difficult most of the time. Quests in this game do not give equipment as rewards after the tutorial stuff which was challenging but I also felt this was good for the game as it promotes finding things on our own and not reply so much on quests. It was definitely hard to find a rare level 40+ 2H weapon in the auction house and getting them from mobs was challenging too. I felt pretty lucky to have bought a dio collossal weapon from someone on shout chat and got a tesmus weapon with +8 str when I was grinding at the dungeons. It was also freakin’ hard to transfer an item from one character to another as I thought about using the Auction house but I saw so many barbarians camping there that I could not trade my weapon there and had to use someone to help trade and it was super risky too.
-Everything costs silver like using the storage (lack of account storage kinda bothers me but a challenging game is a fun game), upgrading attributes, and it feels like the best way to get silver is selling equip drops from grinding at tenet garden.

Swordsman Review:
I played 3 swordsman with different builds. I tried going without buffs and going +2 str, +1 dex every 3 levels but that was difficult to keep track of because sometimes I would get random stat level ups and lost count of what I leveled last. Going buffless was extremely slow and I will disagree with people saying concentrate and gung ho are useless because they really helped out with training and in future circles, you may not even use the attack skills because you have better skills and limited sp. I felt very squishy in this character, so I dropped it around level 20ish.
I went full str and it was pretty strong. Very squishy in the 2nd dungeon though and the attack range was around 600-800 at tenet gardens with a +5 dio collossol. stopped at lvl 45ish.
-I made another one with pure dex and at first, dodge was amazing and crits started to happen more around 30ish and when I finally got the aggressor skills and attribute, it was amazing. 1k-1.6k constant crit damage in tenet garden with the same weapon was OMG. At first I worried that by pumping only dex, I would not increase damage but I noticed that every level up my crit attack rose up by 5 so it will increase overtime even if you don’t pump str. I think the most optimal would be to go dex first and “struggle” the first two circles, maybe get thrust for stab? and not get that stance buff because I never used it, get buffs from barbarian, and figure out the highest critical evasion the strongest mob/monster has and stop dex there and go into str but i don’t know. I had more fun going pure dex and I read the patch notes for the nerf so ehh, yay for more testing.

All in all, this game/beta was a blast. The level of difficulty and fun exceeded my expectations and meeting the nice community was a plus. Just improve crafting, customization, translations, have bot protection ready, have something collectible in the game, no RNG pay to win stuff, increased drop rate for weapons? account storage sharing and yeah that’s it. =D

Nice review!

Just want to say sorry if I ever met you in game because I definitely played the entire beta with the “Show family name only” option set. I myself only cared to go by my family name & only cared to see my char with that name (since it’s the unique one) – so for the most part I never knew other characters first names. >_<;; I’m not in love with the system, but I think for the most part family name being the most important is something that is here to stay.
