Oracles Vs. Bots and what you can do

Greetings Saviors,
After hitting rank 6 as an Oracle, I have found the change skill to be of great help in combating the evil forces of bots. I am posting here to let other players and potential Oracle allies know how it works and what you can do to help:
The Oracle skill change transforms a monster into a random monster of similar level. Doing so can have some interesting results, with monsters that scale way too well for their current level (Ex: a level 130 drake has 100k HP and hits for 3k per swing).
Using this skill, I have recently been on Orsha having people call out bot infested areas, and sticking around until i know the monsters ive used the skill on can:

-Kill a bot without suffering too much damage. The monster will naturally recover HP but it takes time and i don’t want them to be overwhelmed.

-Is slow on acquisition so a normal player can get away from said monster without dying.

-Doesn’t drop something amazing so as to discourage people from killing it.

Here is where I get to the part of what you can do. Please don’t kill these mobs. I know you will be tempted to, seeing as how its all shiny and not normally on the map. But remember, the more we fight back against bots, the better the community is for it. Additionally if you are a fellow oracle, use a megaphone once in awhile to ask where bots are at and make a channel or zone unfriendly for the bots in it. If we do this as a community daily it will drive down bot numbers just as much as IMC banning bots.
I know some will say that it is IMC’s job and you are not wrong, but i am tired of waiting when I can do something. I am on Orsha server and over the next few days/weeks the people on my server will get to know me. I hope other Oracles follow in my footsteps, and the community gives them the support to step up and help everyone.

Hahaha now THIS is a post I can endorse. Now I sorta want to convert my support priest to an oracle once I get up in levels.

I’ve dreamed of the day I can kill bots. In fact, that would be sweet justice and botters never expect the players to be their worst enemies.

I want to thank everyone who is supportive to this idea! I think if the community gets some traction behind it we can curb some of the bot problems

For Example: I have cleared forest of prayer to the point where only 1 channel has bots, any time they goto another channel they follow their patterns right into a mob waiting to kill them

I’m surprised it’s so effective like… My support priest is ALMOST ready to change class and I wasn’t going to choose Oracle but now I figure why not. I was going to retire that priest but I can use it as a bot buster instead.

Let’s hope IMC never patches this. I’ll reply here with my own results once I get my priest up there.

A while ago someone said that you are able to change monsters from red/blue orbs and remove their timelimit this way while keeping a high level mob.

Its funny when you change something into a real monster.
Though there are some eastereggs too, my pardner created a training dummy which had more endurance than most bosses ^^

What about the grim reaper thing? I’ve never seen them anywhere.

Are they still using it? GM should be the one to take care of this, it’s much easier for them and it’s their job.

its not really gonna kill bots, its a fun way to kill some time tho :slight_smile:

eventually bots will evolve even more & start checking HP of all mobs

Sounds like fun, I’m gonna make a Oracle too. But i’m going to prevent people from making new Characters, that way bots can’t get through. Get some high lv mobs around starting zones. lmao.

Btw, as example myself. I dont answer to people at times if they ask that am i a bot, because i grind while I’m watching netflix etc with a PS4 Controller. Just asking if someone’s a bot causes a lot of false positives, maybe some people don’t simply want to be around chatting when you can do that 1% more exp instead of answering to sillyness?
