Oracle Feedback

I am a fresh Oracle - which I picked as rank 7 and I am seriously polarized over this class.

But as per usual:

The Good:

  • Unique in many ways
  • Can alter the world

The Bad:

  • Mechanically not working and thought through.
  • Too little actual power/benefit for one of the later ranks
  • 10 minute cooldown on a largely useless C2 skill?

Will talk about the skill here and why most of them simply do not work:

Clairvoyance/Reset/Change since they are supposed to work together.
It starts with 3 skills to do one thing: Increase your chance of loot that you desire

Change: Great skill you basically swap a mob for any other mob in the game. So a truffle becoming a lvl 210 maggot is possible. The loot it drops does not change on the first application. Many of the mobs I created so far I didn’t even encounter in the game

  • Bad that the mobs will never yield any experience - always 0.
  • Should yield the same experience as the mob before the transformation to give it a little combat meaning.
  • Good that they stay like this until death
  • Very good that it can make jackpot mobs appear which becomes way too rare later on.
  • Has synergy effects with e.g. paladin.
  • Should be discussed if original lootable should stay even on second application

Reset:
Is basically a reroll which will mostly end up being silver again. So 99% of the time you press this button nothing actually happens.

What is there to say about a skill that literally never does anything. It is only ever useful for mobs with a high spawntime otherwise it is always better to just kill another mob within a second.

Clairvoyance:
This is only implemented to even make reset useable - otherwise it wouldn’t be. Again the only useful application is a mob you cannot readily kill a second of.

How this plays out: Lets imagine you wanna go hunt something rare - Vubbe Fighter Blood. So you go into crystal mine 3f and search your first one and it already becomes problematic - others are of course searching for it aswell so it will take some time to find one.

Bam you found it! Immediately it dies because you forgot to despawn your normally useless pet, because against these low levels mobs it becomes a monster  Okay found another one and now you go close and press clairvoyance. It isn’t vubbe fighter blood so you press reset, reset and end it on change.

What happened is that while standing around for like 5-10 seconds to get all the skill off you made 3 vubbe fighters out of 1 (which is of course a good thing) and at the end had a 2.5% chance to make it a jackpot vubbe fighter (this didn’t happen to me yet so I can only assume that it will indeed be a jackpot vubbe fighter if winning triggers and not the new mob)

For these cases it works but it becomes a very frustrating experience to actually do it and this kind of things literally never works outside of “rarer” mobs. There is simply absolutely no point to ever use these skills on mobs that are readily availible.

Now increasing loot chance is not accessible to the oracle: Doppels, chrono, corsair. I don’t know if the archer has it somewhere too

For the other classes it literally is one skill and a condition and that is it. There is no big inconvenience to use it. If reset didn’t have two charges it would literally be the worst option out of all of them.

The other skills are more or less cool with the exception of Death Sentence

I don’t have that one but just looking at it I don’t understand the point and the cooldown. Why does it have 10 minute cooldown I just hope that is some kind of mistake. You can argue pvp, but at the end of the day pvp isn’t largely decided by lvl. 1 debuffs that take over 20 seconds to trigger…

Changes I suggest to the Oracle:

Clairvoyance should be an AoE that moves with you and reveal the loot to you.
Change/reset should probably just be put into one skill with something as trivial as change never diviating from the original lootable and change is a reset at the same time.

Give the oracle interaction with boss cubes.
