Opinions from Veteran Fletchers?

Bodkin Point has a 5 sec debuff duration, it will surely increase the negative armor of the target if you level it up.

Broadhead Arrow tick damage seems to to have 30% of your initial damage, and if you level it up it will still get the 30% of your initial damage and adding up more duration.

Barbed Arrow, now some of here will disagree with me.
As a PvP player I wont get any level with this. why? Simple, because most of players will use PLATE ARMORS and basically Barbed Arrow is strong against Cloth and Leather, but still I would prefer maxing out Crossfire than Barbed Arrow.

I see… Thank you for your detailed information.
As of now, do you know how can we increase the dmg per tick of Broadhead Arrow?

About Barbed Arrow, how is your experience in PVE so far using barbed arrow? What kind of armors do the BIG BOSSES wear (not big in terms of size but in terms of importance, like world bosses or something similar)?
Also, in pvp, do wizard and cleric wear Plate as well? O.o aren’t they supposed to wear cloth as they get more stat bonuses that will benefit their class?

Broadhead tick damage still depends on your Physical damage and it could be possible by adding up STR + weapon damage and any other accessories that adds Physical damage.

Barbed Arrow so far is very good with PvE, check out tosbase.com if you want to know the Armors of the monsters. there are boss with cloth armors too

On PvP you don’t want to die easily. I’ve played iCBT and so far even Mages do wear Plate Armors so I think I wont go for Barbed Arrow.

Lastly if you think that Barbed Arrow with 0CD is still Good on PvP because it has 2.2k damage even with plate armors,

why not Max Bodkin Point? it also has 2.2k damage with -75% armor reduction debuff, this are my basis.

Hmmm… Nice idea, maybe I will consider that path…Do you think 5 points in Barbed Arrow is sufficient for PVE purpose?

hmmm i think its good specially if you fought with flying type mobs it gives you Overkill and you get more EXP.

Hmm… Actually that barbed arrow is a single target skill and I intended it to be used on bosses but seems like the skill is quite situational.
Btw, how would you suggest the stats distribution of an end-game fletcher?

Fletcher has some good skills for boss like Magic Arrow and I believe Bodkin point is really good for reducing boss armor.

About the stat distribution
For PvE go for 1:3 STR:DEX build with a bit of CONS like 40.
you will almost rely on your evasion since you have more DEX and pair it with a leather set armors.

For PvP go for 3:1 STR:DEX build and get more CONS like 50 and above.
you wont rely on your evasion anymore because most players will get Accuracy gems and Magic damages/skills wont miss, including the Joint penalty of Linker you will be vulnerable even with high evasion so that’s basicaly useless. Plate set armors and getting more HP is a must for survivability.

I see… I wonder if the gap between -25%, -50% and -75% will make a big difference because as far as I know, the defense stat is flat number, so -75% of that flat number is not that much if there is no multiplier. I read somewhere on the forum that the damage calculation format goes as follows:

((((Skill Attack + Attack) + (random(0% … 100%) * Magic Amplification) * (100% + T0)) - (((Defense - Defense Debuff) * (100% + Level Penalty)) + Elemental Resistance)) * (100% + (0 or 50% if crit)) + (0 or Critical Attack) + (Extra Elemental Attack) + (Enemy Specific Damage)) * (100% + T1) * (100% + T2) * (100% + T3) * (100% + Enhance) + Bonus Damage

Based on your experience, do you think -20% def and -75% can create a big difference?
Also, in party boss fight, I remember peltasta has a debuff that -100% physical def, and from my point of view, even when we stack them, I don’t think we can make the boss’ defense stat goes negative (below 0) because the reduction is by percentage after all, right?

I’m not really sure about this percentage penalty.
and yes the stats mechanics of this game is worst than we expect. So I really have no idea how it works for the mean time. I have to do a research about the damage mechanics.

Overkill doesn’t give you exp anymore. It was removed. Also, don’t max bodkin, max barbed instead.

eh? why? xD some even suggest to max Crossfire though haha

You still max crossfire. My bad, not maxed, but close anyways.

If I were to go fletcher, I would do 1 point in broadhead, skip bodkin, 14 barbed, 15 crossfire, 10 magic arrow, 5 DMA.

Don’t forget that Bodkin can remove many sorts of shields. I’d say it’s worth putting at least one point into.

As for the defence reduction, I’m gonna max Bodkin to see if it makes a big difference, and if not, well, there’s skill reset potions.

If you ever got the results about bodkin defense reduction, don’t forget to share with me :stuck_out_tongue: I’m waiting for your good news icekin

I’ve only got Bodkin up to level 5 (and max attributed) so it reduces defence by 30%.

I don’t know how it would look at max level, but I don’t see much of a difference so far. Just looking at damage from regular shots on mobs without the defence reduction and with it, the numbers seem roughly the same.

That is not to say it would never be useful, perhaps there are very high def enemies later in the game, but my impression atm is that you’re better off putting one point in for the shield removal aspect and spend the rest elsewhere.

I see… Thank you for your sharings.
Have you ever tried on bosses with high defense like the ones at the end of ā€œmissionā€ stages? xD If you ever try, please tell me the results as I am only level 100 now. I’d really appreciate your help on this one

Is another low tier class that can go well with fletcher instead of ranger c3 ? I know it might not be the BiS but could potentially work well ?

Cause I’m not overly all that interested in ranger :frowning:

Archer c2 ?

Then could something like below work ?

Hunter c2
Sapper c2

Archer 2 definitly is a good option (IMO is the BiS option over Ranger 3) because of Swift Step attribute (25% crit rate +).

Unfortunatly, I don’t know anything about Hunter or Sapper

hunter is good thanks to coursing, snatching could also help in some situations as well xD
In the end, it all depends on your playstyle, choose the class that has the playstyle you like best, I don’t like the idea of choosing ā€œthe bestā€ or ā€œthe goodā€ class… Not because people say it’s good that you need to follow that path. Be creative, be whoever you want to be
I play ranger because I like my way with the bow… I’m thinking of getting scout as my rank 7 actually LOL
