Is there really a rule that forbids the use of VPN for ip blocked games ?! I find it really weird, how do they detect this? Maybe they banned well known free VPNs providers, so setup your own VPN on a small VPS and they won’t be able to detect if you are using a VPN or not.

I think they are already fully aware of the use of VPN, I’m just trying to inform you if the worst happens.
On the contrary, I think it is good to discuss that, if everybody is informed about VPN and use it, the IP block will be useless, they will lose money, and that is a reason to reconsider their decision. If their model doesn’t work, they will be forced to change it. That’s how you change things.

@Erohki : It is. Over simplified but enough to grasp the concept : you connect to a computer that does the requests for you, then it send you back the answer. The destination server never communicate with you directly, but only with the VPN server, so it doesn’t know where you’re coming from.
Oh, nice explanation there. But I still think that no IP block’s a better idea because VPN will undoubtly increase ping and I personally don’t really like the idea of “Illegal access”. 
yeah anything illegal wont give us total freedom, just ask IMC to reconsider about blocking indonesia’s IP. IF IMC see this thread tho, i hope they hold their integrity about what this forum meant to be

(Umm, also. If you find a good VPN you may not notice too much more ping. iToS will probably be hosted from a US (hopefully East Coast) location. If you know how to set VPN to a close endpoint… You get the idea. You’re already adding on 150+ms to get to the US anyway >_< But who wants to go through all that. And you will probably have to pay for a VPN sub for a F2P game lol.
