Open Letter for IMCGames from Indonesian Fans

Good job Ero-san :3 You finally did it! Hope all goes well for you

That is why I wrote this letter. IMCGames will hopefully read this and consider our thoughts.
There will be a lot of us Indonesian who will visit this forum and give their opinions and supports for no IP block.
Really, I’m really desperate to play on Steam and I believe most of us do feel the same.

welp already read in on the steam and i do agree about ero-san wrote above…
i hope they think it over again… majority people in the asia region already experience bad management attitude from the company that brought many wonderfull korean games to the local market… and it does leave bitter sour taste to our lips…
i hope IMCgames as publisher not just thinking to bring fast cheap money to their pocket but keep their communities thrive and last long and become another legend like RO…
 hope for the best for all our communities in asia

Yeah I also posted the letter on Steam in order for IMCGames to notice it and take their time to read it, considering they should visit this site and their steam page more often.

Let’s suppose that this game will have the same story as some MMORPG…

Many servers in many coutries, then years passes, players come and go, and then server for country X closes (cause it doesn’t matter what game is, it will get boring one day). To migrate all players data (if you don’t know what it is, let’s say it’s your “save file”) to another server, it will be a huge pain. So, I’m not really sure that IMC one day will migrate all data to the international server (cause if they do, I hope they do not make the same mistake as a company made when they did the migration. They made another server for those players, just to not merge them in with main server).

That’s why since when IMC asked if we wanted a server for everyone or many servers for many countries, I lifted my “international version only” flag for them, since the game has the multi-language feature. And not only because of this, why not merge everyone in just one server when the player base is not so big?

Well, many servers or just one, IMC has made it’s choice. Of course the “one server” scenario isn’t the perfect one, it has pros and cons just like the “many servers” scenario. Let’s hope IMC give their best and also think in the future.

Well but we also can’t forget that there are couple of MMO’s that only have like 2-3 international servers but with channel systems (e.g aeriagames’).

IMC could use that systems and along gradually increase or decrease channels and/or servers as they see fit according to population’s demands.

According to some videographics, almost around 60% mmo player worldwide are a loyal WoW players anyway, so I don’t see the urge to sell license to local publisher when they can only expect to attract 40% of the mmo player population.

Also we have to take consideration that selling the license to publisher is not merely for a whole lump of money, but to give the better experience to player by providing them with low ping (e.g Terra, although it’s somewhat not the case at all).

If it’s only about money, the management should’ve realize that having a direct customer might provide them better profit than selling license.

if you could pull off a Boycot for 1week, like when the Server opens for the first week no one played it xD i’m sure they will change their mind instantly,… but that’s next to impossible

Fingers crossed.
I don’t want to post a long comment on this one. Let’s hope for the best, Indonesian players

haha if only that can happen… but their local loyalist fanboy had their hope high like us too to port the game to the local one :kissing:

Didn’t mean to be a party-pooper or anything. But I don’t think requesting ‘no IP blocking’ would work.

We love playing games, but everyone would also know, the main course of online gaming is business. And without blocking the IP from a country that already has the regional server would disturb the local publisher’s business. So, the local publisher wouldn’t like it.

Even if you say the user pool from Indonesia is large that the publisher shouldn’t be concerned about bunch of players would leave. Your very next sentence deny it “If it really happens (Indonesian region IP block), I can only say that Tree of Savior will lost plenty of its fans.” Yes, you say plenty there.

And, no matter how small the number, it will affect the revenue of the publisher. Of course, it will affect the profit-sharing to the developer. I don’t think the developer would want it, since they also need the cash to keep the resource flowing.

Before you guys say the ‘Steam player’ would also do the ‘purchasing’. With the limited payment channels and the price difference (assuming Indonesian’s economy environment), I don’t think the revenue that imcGAMES get will be the same. Well, they also need the profit for the resource right? So the ‘local server’ would be more preferable in term of getting more profit.

Anyways, I’m not a hater or a loyalist fanboy of the publisher. But, we have to face the truth with this one. Rather than having the hopes too high, I prefer embrace the reality and be positive with the current decision.

I kinda agree, for nothing is certain at this moment. Do they going to just let us play on the International server? We don’t know. Do they have an agreement with the local publisher to IP block us from International?, We don’t know too.

But if we have something to hold on, it is the fact that the local publisher let Indonesia play Dragon Nest on the SEA server, so I don’t know how much, but there is still a chance that they wouldn’t mind us playing at the International server.

I also agree to not putting our hopes up high. But yeah give this a little hope. I don’t think playing on the local server would give me the experience I’d expected. But if I really must, I think I’ll still give the local server a chance. Aren’t we all?

Yes, I say plenty because I’m not sure how many players are actually prefer to play on Steam. Maybe hundreds, or thousands, but not more than that.

I know very well that this is business we are talking about, a business between a quality developer and a bad publisher. So, this is our job to tell everything that IMCGames should know about our local publisher and our community’s opinions before making any decision. Most of our local online games don’t last long because of the bad services. The longest is probably 3 years where more than 50% of the players have abandoned the game after around 6 months. The rest are just wandering to another game which also has the same fate later on. After players starting to abandon the game, the publishers still do not improve their services, rather they exploit this moment to get as much cash as possible (before the game is dead) from the players which slowly turned the game into pay 2 win. When the game is closed, they can rest easy because they already got their money. This is the truth that we must face and be positive with? There’s no way I’m going to accept this.

Yep, hoping too much often results in immense disappointment. Imo, it’s best to try first with hopes. Who knows that the results later are of our favors.

Even if it’s IP banned, we can still find another way. Let’s just try as we can :3

i really dont want to be the one that state the hard fact here but i guess i needed to

well,no matter how are we complaining here making a petition or something more big in play on this request for not to have IP BLOCK on our indonesian IP

its just wont work lol,if we look at how many indonesian that literally cant speak english at all,i didnt mean to belittle their inability to speaking english well but i happen to experienced so many indonesian player in few international games that always use our native lang in public chat, and that is only first problem

2nd one is as much as i wanted to play in steam,if they insist on IP BLOCK we may could play with VPN but are you sure steam allowing that? i mean im not gonna risk all my game collection in steam in one particularly my ID got ban just because im using VPN for archieving better “international community / population”., also im not feel secure even tho im making 1 special ID incase to prepare for this, its like im being prepared to be banned when later steam discover we using VPN to play because i remember in few case people got ban for using VPN

and lastly still i would like to say… as much as i really want to play in international and joining in their community which will be seriously far more great and better i guess, and us keep making a thread like this… sadly the hard fact is well in this most popular of the same purpose of all those threads are been made, by being the most popular thread for addressing this matter,we only have 30 ish replying which if indonesian publisher manage to come and see this,… they will laugh out loud

i believe if they come in here and see this thread will think like " what??? petition for not IP BLOCK indonesian? youre joking right only with couple dozen people posting in forum so can UNBLOCK already? man ive wasted billions if its not trilions you think this is gonna work?

thats how i felt lol looking our status quo

I don’t think it’ll matter whether Indonesian players can speak English or not. Because basically, everyone has rights to play any games at any server. And I also didn’t say that I’ll use VPN to play at the international if I have to.

For the last paragraph, I don’t think it’ll be necessary for hundreds, or thousands people from Indonesia to flock together in this thread just to make sure that our opinions are heard. My purpose for writing this letter is to give opinions on behalf of Indonesian players, not to gain popularity or to show the world that Indonesia has large community. I shall send this letter to their official email and to this forum admins if I have to. We’re currently looking for solutions that will be best for both of Indonesian players and IMCGames. And for us, that best solution is no IP block. Do you not agree?

Oh, well. I know the publisher have a bad track record on certain game. But, if in-game purchase turns to pay 2 win? Developer also have decision from it, if it harms the game balance or anything, no matter it would be steam server or local server it would be the same. If you think imcGAMES would allow such condition like pay2win problems, gameplay harming that leads to closure, then the developer is as bad as the publisher. In this case, I still have hopes for imcGAMES.

So, what I’m trying to say is, we have to be positive for both developer and publisher. Even if the publisher already bought the license from the developer, the developer would still monitor in-game situation, so we shouldn’t worry about that, as long as imcGAMES is a good developer. Those games who turns bad by this publisher aren’t from good developer. Even if it’s good, it’s only a second-rate or even third-rate game. I believe that imcGAMES is a good developer and Tree of Savior is totally not a second-rate game. It is one of the most anticipated game this year.

Anyway, I would also prefer a better environment game, but I don’t wanna be toxic for my fellow Indonesian friends that still have faith in Indonesia’s online game industry. If we keep playing on international server, the industry will be dead.

Well said bro @Erokhi ! I can’t agree more.
That publisher known for their money sucker and ignorance habit/behaviour.

+1 for this thread. If need vote, i’ll summon my guildmate. Cherio~

So let’s say there’s this IP block. Our local publisher messed up. The game’s dead in local. It’s closed. Then IMCGames removed the IP block. Players from locals eventually ended up in international server. Is this what you expect to happen?

IMO, local industry won’t be dead. We have a large community who’ve been waiting for games like this. No matter how bad the publisher is, in the end, some of us force themselves to play in local server. The main problem here is the restriction to players who want to get access in the international server.

as erokhi has stated earlier we just want to remove the restriction…
so the choice where we gonna play is up to us the player…
