Anyone else in kCBT notice this? I have been killing monsters that are anywhere from 15-40 levels higher. And either the EXP is so low I can’t notice an increase in my bar or you get NO EXP from them. So essentially…Even though they hid the optional quests, the game is still on rails. You can only progress in a set path.
Really?
that REALLY sucks. Were you in a party or were you soloing? It might also be a bug.
that’s good then. no need to make most of the game deserted because everyone just leeches around in the max level zones for exp instead of killing stuff their level.
I would understand the penalty so that you won’t be leeching off of a higher level player if you were in a party but if you’re soloing the monsters in an empty map and you still don’t get exp, that kinda still sucks doesn’t it?
I was soloing. Basic attacks do 1s when they are that much higher so you have to kite and use skills only but there is no reward…Hahaha. Maybe it’s a bug or just in place for CBT? I don’t know. I’ll post on Nexon forum later…
@steven There are ways to get around leeching besides taking out rewarding players for my intense battling, haha…
That would be INSANELY disappointing if its true. Devastating, even. Let’s pray this is just a bug…
As a matter of fact the game is already niche enough with its art style that makes it a complete no go for the vast, vast, vast majority of mmorpg players. The target audience besides weaboos is pretty thin. Themepark is slowly becoming a pretty big turn off for many and thankfully they reacted to this turn of events and made the decision to make it less like a freakin ride on rails…now to ■■■■ it up all over again by something like this would be pretty sad.
It has to be a bug. Please, lol.
I feel the the same way. I’ll try to get some answers.
Please do. I need the peace of mind knowing that this is all just a bug.
By the way, care to answer a quick question? How exactly do you get into KR CBT? I thought the sign up process involved the necessity of having a korean cell phone number?
Thanks.
I am in a Korean family. ^^ So yes, that’s necessary for Nexon accounts.
Ah, alright. Fair enough. Thanks.
@alex0512 No problem. ^^ For non-Korean that got into kCBT…I don’t know how haha.
So after maint I checked it and you DO get EXP however the increase compared to the difficulty isn’t really worth it? A level 71 monster gave me 560 EXP at level 38, while a level 40 monster gave me ~450. HOWEVER…I killed another level 40 monster with one attack after that and received ~700 EXP. So…??? There may be waaay more to the EXP formula than just ‘Monster A gives ___ EXP’? Well…I’ll keep investigating I guess…
Monster exp isn’t just based on levels, monsters give odd variations of class/job.
I found that the optimal level ranges is 3-4 above/below.
For AoE grinders, if you can kill mobs within 5 seconds in AoE’s without a cool down between groupings, then ~10 levels above is optimal.
What about Plvling? I’m not sure if it was FatePGN stream but a lvl 60 was able to Plvl a lvl 5. Are there something like -50% EXP cus of lvl range? cus i really do think Plvl would be unfair where you can cap at 250 and then Plvl someone at 200s
I believe the exp system is not really right, if players high level can level up low level players by power leveling, this may cause a negative impact on the future of the game, since would encourage peoples to grind low level players for a high ammount of coins.
Also, if soloers gets nothing as reward for facing a monster higher leveled than him, then why we should try to progress? Sounds like it forces you to grind on monsters of your level, and that is not right.
If we can face it, we should get good things from it.
No power lvl my friend.
I was just watching on twitch a 112 lvl solo barbarian soloing red mobs. He was getting EXP alright.
Well, that’s hope at least. If the exp reduction is a function of time taken to kill a mob, then that IS something I can actually get behind.
But an arbitrary restriction on exp to penalize you for taking on monsters or areas that the Devs didn’t want you doing until you reach the lvl they approve of: No… Not so much that… =|
A mechanic which uses time-to-kill as a factor in reducing EXP could reduce a lot of potential bad issues and exploits, especially considering the monster AI in this game being pretty easy to run rings around. Making slowly chipping away at a big monster for long periods a thing.
Not power level, sometimes on mmos or even other games, the game may happen of giving you quests of killing monsters way tougher than you, would not be worth losing resources and time just to complete them, since you would not grow stronger due to that.
Makes perfect sense to me. If a monster is that powerful you shouldn’t be able to learn anything from fighting them, the same as if they’re too easy.
That said, you should be able to earn XP from monsters within like ten levels of you.
Then fightng a boss should not give exp?
They are mean’t to be powerfull.
