[NINJA COMMUNITY] Shinobi Class build, etc. (Updated as of 05/16/2016)

I originally wasn’t going to do Shinobi since I hear it’s just excruciatingly tough and gimmicky when there are other classes that can deal a lot more damage and be more successful but then I saw a build my cousin was doing with his swordsman and once he hit Highlander c2, the Crosscut and Skyliner was dealing ridiculous amounts of damage so I’m trying to figure out what classes I should go through after Highlander c3. Stat point wise it’s mainly a DEX build with a bit of STR and CON.

The reason why I want to try Shinobi is the fact they have attributes to make them stealth so I figured if I can stealth and knock down a squishy target I can easily dispatch them with Crosscut and Skyliner and any other offensive abilities. From what I’ve seen Crosscut when it crits can deal a good 4k or so damage easily and that’s not including the bleed damage. At lvl 85 when my cousin hit my Sorcerer (was around lvl 170 or so) Crosscut took half of my hp without buffs and the bleed nearly killed me. My Sorcerer isn’t super tanky but he had about 10k hp at that time.

Anyhow if this is a bad idea, please let me know, I’m not a swordsman expert so I’m not expecting this to be the best but just wanted to see if it’s doable.

SW1>High1>Barb3>Doppel1>Shinobi 1 here. PVE wise if utilized skill properly damange output can be higher than Warlock though… But PVP wise unless you got a team to support it’s quite hard to kill anything, esp DO NOT turn on moukton in PVP as it will inccure massive lag spike and lag time, u will be be a sandback which the control returns.

I see and that sounds pretty boss! And I’m sad to hear the strongest skill the Shinobi has can’t be used in pvp. Do you know if everyone has that issue with the Moukton skill in pvp?

dude i believe it does, i have a barb-fencer but i never got a close look on the numbers because first, the rapier range is really crap so sometimes lunge apply to some mobs and cleave to others when i’m mobbing so it becomes really hard to check but i always use the slash combo before seism and the mobs are dying faster, i can go up to 50k+ with the full seism combo now and i’m sure that before the patch i was not even close, i will check tomorrow since is already 5 am here, and will edit the topic if the buffs does not stack.
on a side note: what skill do you all think will be the next skill to be able to copy by the clones?
i have a theory that IMC have not choose barb skills for clones yet because all of the good ones have overheat and the cd is really short and also have a effect , so it can really break the current balance with builds for shinobis.
Now i will expand my theory on the skills that the clones would be able to use from barb:
first let’s keep in my that IMC only allowed skills from ranks until 3 that is moulinet/Synchro Thrusting so we can assume that since barb start at rank 3 we would only have : cleave , helm chopper ,Embowel or Stomping Kick
first: if we take a good luck on the new skill set that clones are able to use now, the only one who is good is moulinet but because the cd it can only be use one time, where the the most popular skill from barb (cleave) would be able to use two cycles per clone and thus allowing for a far better grown than any combination before could have and i have seen someone doing a 25k on stunned target per cleave and this was before the 50%debuff so it would really break the balance from classes so we could remove cleave.

second: if we compare double slash damage with moulinet alone that is the best new skill that they have allowed the clones to use :
they are mostly the same :
moulinet 5: needs 3 ranks just like double slash 5.
Moulinet: it have 5 hits with 151 damage tooltip cd 35
Double slash: 2 hits with 531 damage tooltip 3 overheat(6 hit) 21 cd
Now if we look at a skill with similar values in barb it would be helm chopper.
helm chopper: 2 hits 283 damage 2 overheat(4 hits) 20 sec CD , the skill alone seems to be the closest of both skill before, but without doubt the weaker as well, but let’s not forget that helm chopper is the one with the best possibility to grow (lvl 15) and also have a stun effect so it can become a reality.
the only options left would be Embowel or Stomping Kick:
embowel is really weak if we compare to moulinet for example so it would not be a good boost for barb-shinobi and if the clones had to jump to use stomping kick it will be a total havoc with the BAD AI of the clones.
So what skill from, barb you would like for the clones to copy ? i think it will be helm chopper after all , all those barb2-corsair2 shinobis needs something to make their char useful again if we compare with the rest of the shinobi builds.

you cant rely on mokuton in pvp right now so buggy, its either your character will disappear or something shitty will happen after triggering it. also hook is kinda buggy for me right now after clicking the skill the target circle dont wear off unless i click onother skill negating the hook. This is so shitty buggy frustrating in pvp

If I do make it to the Shinobi class, I probably shouldn’t put any points in that skill then?

Bunshin is the only skill that needs to be maxed so you won’t be losing out on much if you spend just 1 point on it. It comes in handy every now and then, and it’ll be really nice to have when they fix all the bugs.

Not always, depends on many things because PVP is a team fight after all. We’re just as much of a nuisance to them as they are to us.

At that time there were only 2 swordies above me, both Dop2. So don’t give up hope if you’re wanting to play Shinobi for PVP.

What about Sw>Pel>HopC2>RodC2>Shi?

I was thinking of pursuing this build for the interaction of slithering (+100% strike damage with the attribute) and spear lunge (+50% pierce damage) with synchro trusting (blunt+pierce damage).
Considering that synchro has an overheat of two, Finestra and bunshin it could teorically deal quite a bit of damage.
My main concerns are:

  1. Sacrificing two circles for rodelero, a class I never played and even after the recent buff it sounds lacking
  2. How much damage it actually deals
  3. Can the rotation be pulled off reliably, in particular with mobile enemies

So, is it worth something or should I stick with Sw>Pel>HopC3>Dop>Shi?

i’m sure that that one will do more damage.
with the rodelo build you could have a better bust on bushin but let’s not forget that bushin also have a cd and so on but you would lose a lot of things like cyclone-dov from doppel , with the HOP3doppel shinobi you are also ready to choose dragon2 in rank8-9 pushing your build further in a perfect path.
i believe that for spear build you have s one of the best one, the only thing i would do is change hop3 for barbarian, because the 50% slash bonus would help cyclone a lot and dragon soar too if you choose to go dragon path later on of even if you choose not to take dragoon, i bet that any other alternative would have slash as well.

I dont think thats stupid. It looks quite interesting build.

My build is SM3->PELT->COR->DOP->SHI. But its so fustrating that i found out about barbarians cleave slash buff too late. I would have changed cor for barb= SM3->PELT->BARB1->DOP->SHI->DOP->???

And im not gonna reroll anymore. Ive been through the hellish flower already so no thanks. Only hope is class reset if that will ever come.

If that’s a PvP build, Corsair is a much better choice than Barbarian c1. Honestly, if one does not take cata c3, it must have corsair c1, at least.

Okay. Thanks for bringing my hopes up again. I am planning to do pvp in some extent so thats nice to know. I guess ill get my slash buff as late as rank 9 when i go dop3 or maybe there will be more viable class introduced.
