Amazing event:
- it rewards only the party that deals most damage
- Cursed Stone Whale drops can be picked up by anyone (so you may be left with empty hands)

Is the game optmized enough now? Or can we expect the same that happened on last event?
Don’t worry the game is so dead there will only be one party there.
A party of whales that you cant possibly compete with?
The attribute drops are appealing,though.
If I read the description right, it’s basically a hunting ground for attribute vouchers, and you can enter an unlimited amount of times a day with the same character.
Finally an event that caters main characters instead of tree of alts = win.
The cursed Stone Whale isn’t that good, but if you are up to summon the whale, you get at least 1000 attribute points 
The (whale) drops are FFA, meaning that you might get nothing at all.
And, if you missed it:
Each monster will only drop its reward to the party members of the player that dealt the most damage to it. This means that, even if multiple parties are attacking the same monster, only one party will receive its rewards when it is defeated.
So… “Cursed shore of necro/sorc bots” then.
I wonder if Templar’s skill to summon guild members (including low level characters to boost whale’s drop) will work there.

How to enjoy the event: enter the instance, go AFK using the popcorn emote and spectate the new WvW (Whale vs Whale) battle.
NOTE: Items dropped by the Cursed Stone Whale can be picked up by any player. … This means you may receive multiple or no rewards after defeating the Whale.
This is amusing. Does the Stone Whale have to ability to one shot everything within a massive radius? I think I’ll just run around hoping to vacuum stuff instead of helping kill it.

So what’s the point in doing this if litterally ANYONE can steal your rewards ?
This shouldn’t even be called “event” tbh
Being the old player that I am I understand the reasons behind the decision to make this event the way it is, but this doesn’t mean I approve of it.
Last summer, the Big Whale event was very simple: every X hours interact with an altar and this will make a huge damage sponge stone whale spawn. Kill it to get a buff that gives you more exp and then, with the buff activated, go talk to the event board and get a prize.
This looked all fun and games, until lots of idiots decided to just show up doing nothing and being afk, just to get buff AND prize without doing anything and creating a lot of lag with their sheer presence. I honestly hated it.
This event though, is messed up in a different way: only the top dps party will get prizes, so many players would end up without anything. On top of that, the whale’s drops are free for all, so it’s all a matter of who clicks on the items faster. These two things will generate SODOM AND GOMORRAH LEVELS OF SALT. Please, reconsider.
