I play mostly solo and I agree with you, it comes a moment that lvling is not that enjoyable. I don’t mind the incresased dificulty but I feel its not rewarding either in items or in exp… so it’s kind of frustrating after all the effort.
I would like to have better equip BEFORE hitting end game, and having more balanced exp
While I agree most of things you talked about it true, especially the end game, grinding and DPK system in this game is troublesome and extremely dry.
Most of players here just actually preparing for coming content or R9, in the sense we have some hopes in them with recent communication, updates and pace.
Just that I would say that it isn’t difficult to be viable in lv300+ maps with 50% of the silvers you earned thru there, and you have to explore a bit about this.
On the good side, i think the community interaction is doing well in this game, you may join a guild or talk a bit with some funny peoples that you see.
It might be a good time for you to slow down on character progressing and explore a bit of other things.
You may want to focus on the gameplay, but in an RPG gear is kind of essential, especially when you hit the “endgame” point where you’re expected to be working towards certain equipment to maximize your defences and damage once you hit the cap. My high level characters are only moderately geared and I can solo high level maps just fine. However, it’s not just about gear, but also about knowing your classes’ strengths and weaknesses so you can get by while playing solo. You can’t just press skills thoughtlessly and expect to faceroll through high level areas. I’m not saying you’re that type of person (don’t have to the time to sit through your streams rn anyway), but if you’ve only been playing for a few weeks across multiple rushed characters then I sincerely doubt you have the proper experience to utilize their skills correctly. That’s something that comes with practice, experimentation, research, etc.
There’s also a lot more to the game than just grinding. Grinding in HGs and dungeons/missions are the quickest way to level, but some of the quests can be quite fun and interesting (especially if you like keeping up with the story). As much as I like being able to level alts quickly now, it saddens me a little that new players miss out on the vast majority of the quests simply because they outlevel them so quickly once they reach lv50+.
Exploring and finding hidden secrets and special events is also one of my favourite parts of the game. There are maps that have puzzles and daily rewards that you have to track down and figure out on your own. There are even some that the community at large has yet to decipher, which is really exciting! You can spend a lot of time exploring maps in full (which also gives some hefty card rewards to every character on your team), and some of the daily events can give very rare equipment/recipes/hats that you can’t find anywhere else.
Honestly, I feel like rushing a character (especially on your first playthrough) takes away a lot of the fun in the game… there’s so much to explore and find and discover, and if you’re only concerned about levels and ranks you’re going to miss all of that. Tree of Savior, to me, feels like a game about the journey rather than the destination. It’s intended to be a game with hundreds and hundreds of levels, the current cap is only a fraction of what the final numbers will be. It’s the kind of game that you should try to take at your own pace. Maybe that pace is a breakneck race to the end, but if you’re reaching the endgame and finding yourself disappointed, I think you should try going at it a bit slower and taking the time to explore the world a little. Or maybe ToS just isn’t the game for you, if that doesn’t sound appealing either.
“The mobs at level 250+ are way too hard, mostly at level 300+”
hehe, mobs, field difficult, dungeon etc is a lot easier than before
if before 2 rebalance patch, mobs 300+ always have lowest 150k+ HP, many of them have 500-600k+ HP hehe
and hit SUPER VERY HARD, archer type and magic type mobs is really nightmare hehe, if 10lv diff, some mobs can one shot you with 15-20k damage
Exactly this.
Those x4 x8 exp tomes or whatsoever exp boosters only help you with character level so far, but they didn’t increase your silver gain, item drop, or more importantly knowledge about the game.
Few days ago I met a new player in HG 290, and we decided to party up a little bit. However after around 5 mins or so she asked me to use “voucher clear” to end everything so she could get a drop…
Yes, those events pushed new players to max level in shortest time. Many new players also influenced by those veteran players 1 day 1-330 etc.
As a result, many new players missed a lot of things and they need to slow down to pick them back. Joining a guild would be a good thing.
Also try understand the damage formula or mechanic of the game at all. Read back those developer blogs etc
Study the items in the market, check a bit of those collection. Do all quests that give you bonus stats and etc
overkill hahahaha.

k m8, I read it until here, and I’d like to explain to you that I was using OP event weapons that deals as much dmg as best lvl 315 weapons. And even with this “high dmg” the mobs killing process was long and boring rather than challenging, it was very unrewarding, no loot, low exp, no fun. I don’t know how a player without lv 50 event weapons would play in high level zones, the time it takes to kill mobs is just insane and you’ll get tired after 10 mins grind.
You need gear to at least survive. I myself find those zones easy after 2-3 patches after R8 introduction, even with roxona set and virtov set, those maps are decent overall and a lot easier compare to post r8 and in-between r8 fresh patch. You just need to grind… and grind… and afk farm… and exploit.
off topic what? tenet garden doesn’t require gear because its a noob map. all higher maps require gear to grind.
probably difficult due to bots roaming the area
What I mentioned about explore is that, you need 3k-5k atk/matk and around 60%-70% attribute in 2-3 of your best skills to make the killing easier. If you understand the new combat formula, the investment of atk/matk is exponential.
Event gears is not upgrade-able, not socket-able, that’s the problem.
Well, i’m not protecting that the grinding prospect of the game is dull, dry and restrictive, but just that lv300+ content is not as difficult as you think even with decent investment of 5-10m, you can earn them in a week or 2 though in slow pace.
I had no trouble surviving, however the damage was issue. I went with swordsman c3 highlander c2 doppel c3 build and it was annoying to kill my own level mobs, it was taking too long. I even use that OP event sword I got from leveling event.
It is off topic. This thread is not about gear farming ffs.
You should upgrade attributes and replace that event sword. that’s the simplest answer I can think of for your situation having to kill mobs longer (I used magi-two handed sword before getting gale after 1 month of opening mystical cube). Also that build is good, but a glass cannon like most swordsman builds.
And as most people will say here, It’s really harder back then compare to now as rebalancing and reworking of r8 contents have been implemented so I cannot fully say that every map is Difficult but just require a little bit of grinding… and afk farming… and grinding…
Answers i don’t like = off topic is it now?
Gears are tied to gameplay enjoyability and solo grinding difficulty. The better weapon you have, the easier and faster it becomes. With an upgraded transcended weapon you can cheese any high level map just like tenet garden.
Event weapons are trash by the way. They aren’t OP at all. Weak as ■■■■
have you enhanced your attributes yet?. i’d say you’re lucky to have played with the event gear since they were fixated towards 315 gameplay. i on the otherhand was using a vienie twin blade on my doppel before, with the way you describe your experience, you wouldnt even last a day back then hahaha
you’re dealing with mobs with 110k hp below that hits for 200-300 on average gears and you call that insane? lol.
back in the day even with grynas plate gears, my doppel would die a gruesome death if i carelessly rush through a group of 300+ mobs especially with archers and mages rofl.
If you can’t even be bothered to read the first sentence of my reply, I don’t see why I should waste my time here.
Good luck.
You deserve a reward. I’ve experienced hell during post 280 - r8 implementation and have survived using roxona - virtov leather set and a magi 2h sword. All in which most players are dope DEX master race and mine was STR guts. We never have any event weapon given to us except the 14 day necklace from time to time. And so here, take this gif as my appreciation to you.
Yeah, DEX was master race stat back then, you can mostly evade all attacks except for magic I think.
