They pushed the whole game again. If you start steam, you’ll see it will try to download it all over again as well. The patcher also doesn’t seem to check which files stayed the same and just re-downloads everything…
@IMCGames: please avoid doing this, think of people with <6MBit downloads where downloading takes hours to days to complete >_<
Went through the same scenario. After patching and starting steam, it still redownloads everything.

I tried closing it but when you open it again, it will still download.
darn i have terrible internet like 1mb so will take hours to download again… and even if i download again how do i know it wont just start from scratch… arhhggg
I finished redownloading everything and tried running it and it seems ok now. Hopefully it will stay ok.

this is a closed Beta, its totally normal to not take care of those things.
as the primary focus on a beta is finding and removing bugs.
what do you think why certain game companies only choose people with 50mbit/s+ for their cbts?

Sadly i took ss befor this and its size was 5.71gb and when it started patching i checked the TOS folder and it had gone to about 700mb ??? very odd
Considering that filters out 90% of the world (yes, it’s worse than you think), that seems unlikely.
Also, it’s definielty 3.8GB here, not 348MB

My steam is downloading a huge chunk of the client again for some reason. Total size is 3.5 GB. Hope it turns out ok in the end.

But even when i put the folder back to its former glory and i relaunch steam/ToS it deletes it all and starts again… 
Backing up the files now just to be sure.
I still have no idea bro, I just backed-up the downloaded files coz it took me days to finish it… has nothing to do with fixing the issue.
how big is the one you are updating right now?
Even if i delete ToS from steam and put ToS back where it was installed and allow steam to find the files again it finds them and then continues to re download the whole thing… i have no idea what to do here… given my internet it will take about 5 hours to download but what if it just restarts from scratch after that…
i just opened my steam and its downloading 272 mb
and i heard after you download it, it will download another 3.5gb which i want to try to avoid took me 10 hours to download
weird, I did a patch really small that took like 5 seconds to complete and the game is fully patched. I never needed to do that.
