New market report function

" - Each item can only be reported once by the same account.
- After an item is reported five times, it will no longer be able to be purchased or retrieved unless processed by a GM.
- Items “on hold” will be evaluated and processed by a GM."

I am sorry, but who on earth thought this was a good idea to combat RMT on the AH? So basically now 5 accounts can chain report items and have them held hostage on the AH until a GM “processes” it?

Do you guys really trust a general playerbase that much to hand them the ability to essentially hold each other’s items over in that way? The potential for abuse for a system like this is HUGE. Especially since the only punishment for people who incorrectly report is that their “RP” (reporting power) drops each time it’s a false report.

Come on now. Is this your first time interacting with an MMO/online community? How could anyone possibly put this in and not expect it to be an easy tool to grief people. (People undercutting, etc.) You’ve already punished players with your horrible in game market system. Making it even WORSE for sellers is just going to kill it entirely.

the solution is simple as f*k
just put level limit into it, maybe only lv100+ can repot?
also the RP system is also good system, since it will filter out the “real” reported and abuser one, the punishment for abusing is not really necesarry this way, since they will lose their reporting power, staff can simply ignore them, its way easier job than punish them,

much typo,

Yep, this function is retarded like… what ? 90% of the restrictions ?
Imc, making your games worse since 2003.

Guilds be like:
Hey let’s control the price of this sht, report anything lower than our usual asking price.

And who the ■■■■ will stay looking at the Market reporting things? Nobody cares and people who make those RMT, don’t take too long to buy the itens. In a 1 or 2 hour window. Do you really thing the item will receive 5 reports? What the ■■■■.

well i agree they should give real dedicated reporter kind of rewards
to encourage more active ppls help on this stuffs,

and also there is at least 2 kind of RMTers,

  1. real active player, as you said this kind have faster respond, they will buy the item asap, so this method is kind of ineffective
  2. the “annoying” botters/botting company, they have slower respond, thus this system will likely work best on them,

also I dont really think real active players RMTing is a problem, since its their own hard earned stuffs, they also keep the game alive in their own ways, also they already take their own risks by doing so, since AFAIK it againts the current rules,

the only real problem here is those pesky botters, and imo this counter measure is good enuf, but it still have rooms to improve

TL;DR : give those high RPs players nice rewards!!

Nice, now a party can remove every item competing with their prices.

IMC ruining the game more on every patch.

c’mon it wont, (or it should not work that way)

Well, thats what it says…
“After an item is reported five times, it will no longer be able to be purchased or retrieved unless processed by a GM.”

5 members of a party reports some item and the item is removed until the GM checks it… And with my ticket experience, it may take around a week, haha.

just see how it goes, lol

This probably will happen in the very beggining of this system. Later on the RP will be so low that maybe this player report will not even count
But the decrease need to be higher than the increase, of course

I have doubts too, cause people love to ■■■■ up the things (HUEHUE community here :frowning: ). But im putting faith on this, hope for the best

Thought the same thing.

I would say this would be a good way to reset prices for certain items, but the restriction would still be there,I think.

For main accounts, this might work as long as there is noticeable punishment for false reporting.
You also will have to act strictly against those who only suspected RMT, yet, still reported. However, when too many players get punished for false-positives the amount of those willing to report will diminish.

Moreover, temporary accounts, something gold sellers excel at, can manipulate the market and overwhelm the GMs for short periods of time. Such may be theoretically manageable but the IMC won’t be able to produce a fast enough response time.

As far as i understood this whole mess the points are the following (my PoV):

  • Market pricing range limits will kick in with bots selling Lv 15 gear for 1mil+ and whoever try to sell it for the right price range (500-1k silver) won’t be able to.

  • New players (i mean new as in the ones who just got the light of the game and future ones in the same boat) will think that is a normal pricing and of course to try get some extra cash for future upgrades and what not will try sell the same items for the same price.

  • There comes the veteran players watching that and start to report (remember, there is no naming in the seller list).

  • The newbies got reported, their items (which doesn’t matter much) got locked for review and depending on the mood (which i think it is how they are working with the ban waves lol) will get a nice ban.

  • Complains kick in, more tickets kick in, more work to look, not really because of the auto reply system.

My faith on the dev team is falling every patch they release, i mean, there are more important stuff to be done, i don’t care about patches that add useless stuff or limit even more the players, it won’t fix a thing.

Just so you know, the latest patches seem to have broken the so called optimization they did, i haven’t changed a thing on my laptop, its all updated, and the performance is falling every week.

By the way, the market crap will apply to many veteran players also.

PS: Sorry if i missed any letter or punctuation, my keyboard today is feeling cold and some keys are not triggering lol.

The thing is the number of reports will be low, because nobody goes past the first page to buy an item. I’m not going to loose time to just report and with a very high chance of being wrong.
