The other post confirmed that there was some form of backtracking, but the patch came out, and its not backtracking but rather cumulative progression for your ranks now.

I really didn’t like this news. I prefer the way it was before.

The classes are going to lose identity this way, and for example you may see a cryomancer with pyromancer skills, what is pretty weird. One of cool things we have on PvP. GvG is to predict what skills one guy could have according his class, so you can plan strategies and a ā€œcounterā€ way to play against him. With things like that this become impossible.

This feature is remembering me of RO2 class system, and damn… It was really fail. But just my opinion.

Well this is pretty wild! I definitely think it’s something that is at least worth them testing out…

What do you mean cumulative progression? can you explain more?

Also glad u cant backtrack i feel like that would ruin the cleric tree because every build would have 3 cleric in it for divine might.

@thebloodyaugust I don’t think that comment neccessarily meant backtracking wasn’t possible… simply that now it’s more than that. – I might be reading it wrong though.

@Sheyk It might be nice if you were still locked into 1 of the 2 sides at each rank but could go back… We’ll see how the feedback for this is though.

As long as there are some restrictions because i call bullshit on pyro 3 cryo 3 psyco 3 the ability to stack ice wall/fire ball then pressure should never be able to happen.

or if u miss the 1 rank of a class can you not backtrack to it?

can someone confirm how the nex system works for me? (By providing screenshots of it via PM)

Let’s say you go Wizard > Pyromancer > Linker.
Now at Rank for is it confirmed that you can even choose Cryomancer form Rank 3 or would you only be able to choose Pyromancer C2 / Wizard C2?

placing a fire ball on top of a ice wall would just kill the ice wall faster. They’ve a set hp after all, I’m sure that most of these ā€œOP combosā€ wouldn’t be so well executed.

We’ve to see how previously-impossible combinations will work out ingame, and not just on paper.

There are no restrictions. You can go Wiz -> Pyro 2 -> Cryo 3 etc etc. Your options are never blocked off, so long as you’ve opened up a class rank/circle, you can always rank up to it (so long as you haven’t reached the rank limit, which is 6 currently)

I would be happy if they would raise the cap a bit…to 12-15 ranks. (assuming that rank 10 was the original plan for release)

My only problem now is that (and yeah I know it’s early but nvm I already want to whine about it xD) I hate how Divine Might works. I would try to make a Circle 3 Cleric now anyway because of max heal but I even feel like I’m forced because of DM. And what I hate about DM is that I rly don’t want to use it constantly before I use other skills… that seems so annoying… and it’s not even that easy to use because it’s a magic circle type boo… I really wanted to leave that skill to the dedicated Clerics but yeah I kinda feel forced to have it now… (don’t even try to argue about the ā€œforcedā€ part because who wouldn’t want lvl 25 skills instead of 15? that means it’s indirectly forced)

So yeah if this thing will going to be official ever then I want them to change DM. Doesn’t matter to me if it becomes less useful or easier to use. Maybe I’m selfish about this but I don’t like annoying skills especially if they feel like ā€œmust-haveā€ haha… and I didn’t even talk about that DM is kinda too OP to be avaible to everyone.

I don’t really like this just because clerics my thing and i feel like this makes cleric 3 mandatory in any cleric build because you wont miss anything…

I think that this change is good because it breaks one of the linear elements of the game :slight_smile: , it also makes sense considering that they want to implement the hidden classes later :9.

But since it’s just CBT, we’ll need to wait until they make the final choice.

you still have to choose in what order you are going to level that character, and consider what other class choices are you loosing from Rank 7 & 8 by spending those Ranks increasing your Circles

You do miss a lot o.o. Lets say max rank is 10, if you always take rank 3 cleric that leaves only 7 ranks left for you to choose.
