Need suggestion for Mergen(R8) build

Building a archer ready for mergen and here are my build options:

Archer C2 > QS C3 > Rogue C2 > Mergen
Archer C1 > QS C3 > Rogue C3 > Mergen

I make the build like this is to maximize the crittical rate/chance for higher critical damage since Mergen have covered the aoe.

None of the above, anytime you take rogue past circle 1 its a mistake, don’t believe me? Np read the forums, theres a reason we have about 800 threads from rogues that went past c1 raging about their gimpness.
And you aren’t anywhere close to the projected cookie cutter people are doing, the fotm atm is a projected fletcher, either a2/r1/sc1/f3>mergen or a3/sc1/f3>mergen. The other build that should work well with it is any solid scout3, my choice is the idreamy version a2/r1/rogue1/scout3, my favorite, excels at farming, solo’ng the 132 dungeon in 10-15min and handles well enough on boss’.
(keep in mind mergens get additional damage bonus’ while wielding 2h bow, another big reason you don’t want to go rogue2-3, dagger will gimp you)

People should wait for mergen to actually be released before even planning a build for it. We do not know:

Its cooldowns.
Its Overheats.
Its target limits.
Its mana usage.
Its skills damage.

All we know is that:

There are are two AOE skills that are very beatiful to observe their execution.
There is one skill that can focus either one target or be used to deal AOE damage.

And that is really it.

also I feel its a silly thought to go “well mergen looks like it has aoe, so I’m gonna level to 280 with a build that has no prior sources of aoe at all” mindset a lot of people are parroting.

i see, so this build is not viable. Thanks for the advices.
And QS sync well with which clases? Not really into Wugu since poison can’t crit.

this is why I wouldn’t build an a3-sc1-f3 myself, gl leveling 1-280 with only crossfire as an aoe, and no aoe at all rnk1-5, I’m sticking with my scout3 and will simply be tacking mergen onto the end of it

archer2-qs3-SR2 is prolly the most popular qs build atm, and gets you into ET/parties aswell, people are theorycrafting a new QS build using falc3 for rnk8 b/c they think the falcon being automated will mesh well with auto attack build but its just speculation

Archer 3 is inferior to ranger 1 in every single way, aside from “safe” dps.

I said the same thing on the “death of ranger a3-sc1-f3-mergen” thread too and the kid had a stroke, even after the nerf steady aim is still nice for burst and barrage makes early game much more bearable. I’m sure you can do decent dmg if you pump up the twin arrows attribute but its never been appealing to me. I’m good with 10 multishot, too risky end game to be still for the time it would take to charge 15, and 10 swiftstep is fine too, my +5 superior bandit boots with double eva gems alone give 175 eva, then 50/50 leather attributes, swifts buff, my base dex plus max petas 14 I rarely get hit in late game pve content.

Ummm…I think so Ranger still look good for me. I wonder why people think ranger’s bad at end game. I think Barrage have really good scale.

Barrage scale look like this right?

barrage lvl5 base 250 per 1 arrow… Shotgun 5 arrow = 1250 + 500%
barrage lvl15 base 543 per 1 arrow… Shotgun 5 arrow = 2715 + 500%
with Rogue Feint
lvl5 = 2500+1000%
lvl15 = 5430+1000%

And this skill have 3 overheat

or scale don’t calculate like this?

How max base dex is ideal? I want to pump as much str as I can. I made a baby archer with iDreamy’s build. The damage is awesome but I get rekt easily if I lag or makes a mistake.

max dex is never a good idea, I cant remember the exact # but STR gives well over 200 more points then dex, myself I only use 60dex on my archers and my crit is fine endgame (lv250-280), double sissels, max peta, manamana, tier6+ green gems, swiftstep - you can go up to I believe 120ish dex though and not waste points on crit but full dex isn’t necessary at all

this build is bad because , rogue using karacha set and qs grandcross/DGC and mergen weapon is bow

If you did notice, lvl 5 vs lvl 15 is a diference of 46% damage, this is only considering the base damage, and not the % damage. As you level up, this 46% goes down, the lowest diference to be registered up to this moment is 28%, but this was tested by iDream, his gear was not top tier, so you get the idea of what happens at high levels of gear.

And how would you build a Archer 2 Ranger 3 Rogue 1 X build?

The last slot needs to be occupied by something decent. If cannoneer, it is advised to get falconeer. If SR, you need to be SR2 to make it work. If musketeer, oh well, musketeer is kinda bad imo, but it would fit well in this build. Scout 1 sucks ass for a 7 rank pick and so does sapper 2. Wugushi asks for c2 at least. Archer c3 is bad. Hunter is bad due to pet mechs. Going past rogue 1 is terrible. QS asks for c3.

At the very least, you would go Archer 2 Ranger 2 Rogue A B. But at rank 4, archer 3, scout 1 and wugushi 1 are better options that do offer more damage. And ranger 2 is whack anyways.

Ideal base dex? Do not invest in dex, get all of them into str, use gear to boost crit rate and rely on the support of party mates.

That is, if you want ideal builds.

Ummm I don’t mean Ranger C3’s barrage lvl15 is good I just wonder why people said like they don’t need Ranger anymore like “death of ranger a3-sc1-f3-mergen”. I know Barrage lvl is good and don’t need to up until lvl15.

I’m going archer-r3-rogue-falcon3.

right now, if one is set on ranger3, they need rogue, making it pretty much a 4circle class. Its the only way for barrage to retain value all the way up to 280, which a R1 vanilla barrage will fall off around even around 150

i went A1>R3>Wug3>going for Mergen

Going to Mergen to enchace my AoE side since wugu works wonders for me vs elite/tank mobs/bosses :3

If i were you, i would put archer 2 instead of ranger 3 for the sake of circling + multishot (and + crit rate and + quick cast for multishot)

new circling attribute really interesting.
If it can duplicate Spiral Arrow, Bounce Shot, Barrage.

I wonder that attribute can duplicate AOE or not (maybe it for none AOE only because AOE attack get bonus from -AOE defend already)

I wonder that attribute for Falcon R3 only or they just add for all falcon(because fal1 don’t have anything except circling = =")
