Need help with Cannoneers, Help Archer Pros

I am not quite sure how to go about it as I am a first timer in this game.

However What classes do I put in that sync well with it?

Should I go A3>R3>Cannon or should I put in Scout and Falconer in the mix?
Would Mergen or Hackapelle be better paths? Mergen seems to have long cool downs though.

Also what stats should I follow? I am leaning more towards Str: Dex 2:1 CRITs help but Cannonner has a lot of attack% in skill formulas so I suppose I have to prioritize on STR.

Dex priorities .Strength is as good as useless now , swap A3 for falconer/scout for PVE/PVP.

Hey, @unicorntheshiny, since you are mentioning it, I wonder…how does STR fare in TBL? In the term of block penetration, are blocks making some people immortal? Say, stone skin & QS’ shield passive?

QS shield palvise have literally no work around it’s the ultimate block.

You have to bypass behind them to blast them or use skills that ricochet with cloak or just wait it out.

STR does work on block pen but pumping strength but that means good luck to hitting any dex swords and archers. Also Cleric in TBL have up to 1k + block. (assumign they are Priest 3)

stone skin suffer nerfs before it’s only 25% in tbl?

Any way the ones that you are looking out for is wrong.

You should look out for kabba and dievs in PVP. O_O…

I had the same thought so I can explain how it works.

A skill has a % multiplier (if any), a number of hits (multihit) and a flat damage bonus.

To make it simple, if you have 1000 attack your damage will be:

[(1000*%multiplier) + flat damage bonus] * number of hits.

Cannoneer skills in general doesn’t have multihits so the %multiplier is a way to add “multihits” in some way.

So, when a skill has 200% multiplier it’s like “2 hits”.

Should I dump STR completely for my canoneer then or should I get about 30-40? I was having a look at the Public builds website. There are very few Cannon builds and most have either QS, Wag or Sapper in it. Jobs which I think have no synergy with Cannoneer.

I would go Archer 3 if you will take Falconer. Furthermore it is really important to take Falconer in cannoner to maximize your damage by damaging more enemies around and boosting your party’s damage. The damage of cannoner in rank 8 is quite underwhelming but not bad.

Thats just another word for bad, Cannon Barrage is a huge disappointment and Smoke Grenade don’t affect flying mobs and bosses.

Would a Mergen perform better? A mergen seems less confusing and follow a pure DEX path right?
