I am very happy with the changes the game has been receiving over the last few weeks and I would like to congratulate IMC Games for the hard work. You can see all the affection and determination that the company has for your game. However, some of us play a lot of time (since the CBTs) and, seeing all the evolution of the game, we want to give our suggestions to make the game more pleasing to us.
Social +
Roleplaying is something that is quite flashy in mmos and considerably increase the lifespan of a game. There are whole guilds that are created for roleplaying and make the most of the content of lore interpreting their characters. This makes the style a game mode within a mmo: like pve and pvp. And it’s a lot of fun to do with your friends.
Tree of Savior seems like fertile territory for great and fun stories to happen. However, there are also some issues that can be solved.
The censorship system
The censorship system used in this game is not one of the best (to be mild in words). It is really difficult to say words like “assassin” or “classes” (in a game with many classes), and other words that have some ugly word included in the compositions of the letters. This becomes a bit annoying to chat in the game, making the whole thing not flow very well. My suggestion is that you think better about it.
Random Number Generation in the chat
A good RNG system in the chat can be an emote or command that launches on the screen a random value between 1 to 5, 1 to 6, 1 to 10 or 1 to 100. The commands can be: /dice, /random, /number, /rng…
It allows guildmasters and other players to perform events using random values to define successes and failures in players’ actions, such as to convince to guard at his post. Although simple, this is a great resource for making guild events.
Walking
Some time ago we saw Mr. Kim giving an interview saying that in Tree of Savior there is no option to walk, because people just run from there to here ever and ever. That’s half true, sometimes we want to have that option. It’s cool to record videos and play our characters. Let’s face it, it’s not cool to run into a tavern, for example. A button we could walk on would be cool.
New Poses
In Granado Espada one of the cool things is the great amount of poses that the game makes available, making it an especially photogenic game. In ToS we have some standard poses and others made available by token. However it is always good to have more differentiated poses for screenshots and social events. Some suggestions for poses below:
Cross your arms and look at the floor
Reach out to someone
Kissing someone’s hand
Kneeling for someone
Weapon Poses (to show our weapons)
Victory Poses (to finish a dungeon or x1 pvp)
Concentrating Ki (If we have a hadoken, why not?)
We also want places where our characters can sit! It is terrible that we can only sit on the city floors and on the old mercenary post floor.
Housing in Guild Towers
There are few good things to do in the Guild Hangout, besides planting and treating pets. The housing system would be pretty cool to have in a mmo. A good housing system can keep players busy for hours and hours, taking care of the furnitures of the house, changing the wallpaper, the chandelier, the floor, etc…
The furnitures in general could be items obtained in quests, market and TP shop. A variety of furnitures would be cool for players to build their house to your taste. This would be a new kind of “customize appearance” to guild members, and other players could visit the player’s house for chat, events and screenshots.
