CON is not a problem for me since they buffed HP pool already.
160-200 dex is required i would say because it affects your attack speed. Largely dependent on your ping but i would say 150 minimum and 200 max (consider your equips too if it has dex). Rest STR.
Ofc it does not apply if you have OP gears since in that case, DEX is more important than STR.
200 dex rest str it is then XD I love machinegun fire.
A little about skills: (basing off Valkoria’s build) Ranger - I feel it’d be better if I put 10 in Critical shot instead of 5 and putting 5 in Time Bomb Arrow, because honestly the only time I ever use this skill is on bosses, and even then it does crap damage. I’d rather put these points into a skill that has a higher crit rate and 5 overheat. Appraiser - Devaluation - yeaaah, I don’t know how good this skill is but I’d rather put these 5 points into Identify, so I can have my AFK shop. I know 2 points is enough but people would be more attracted to a lv 5/6 shop (ps is there a gem that ups Identify’s level?). My choice would be:
Identify max
Overestimate max
Devaluation 2
Blindside max Schwarzer Reiter - maxing Limacon, Wild Shot and Marching Fire is a no-brainer, but where should I put remaining points? Is Retreat Shot that good? I’d rather max Caracole…
If you have almost any other AFK shop you will never use this one as it doesn’t make good profit most of the time.
You’re maxing Limacon Retreat Shot and Marchnig Fire first of all, Wild Shot is getting a buff in kTEST but we won’t see that for awhile.
You’re going to be almost always using limacon, Retreat Shot works with it, so that’s great.
Overestimate>?Identify>Deval/Blindside
I’d say these two are your choice, blindside is great damage for you personally but deval can help others as well and is a nice %age decrease of their defenses.
Don’t put any points in CON, the DEX value you stop at largely depends on your ping, if you feel you’re not gaining anything you can stop putting points in, I have around 150 DEX rest STR because I plan on using +DEX cards
Yeah, I think I’ll rather make a buff seller instead…
So RS 10 Caracole 5 then?
Well if I’m taking 2 in Identify for personal use I may as well max Devaluation.
I typed //ping and the value I got is 0.072021. Is that bad/normal/good? At the moment I’m lv 75 with invested 52 dex 26 str (2dex:1str). Considering this, is there an optimal point at which I should stop pumping dex?
I’m not sure the exacts of Identify levels and I’m not sure anyone really is, but I have mine at 5, I’d say it’s all just up to you here, since the exacts aren’t in.
That’s pretty good ping, its 72 ping.
I highly suggest not to go off of ‘ratios’ that a lot of people used to put in their guide. That maybe worked for games like RO or MS, but it’s not really needed here at all, and is a good way to just confuse people reading guides. Aim for one of the dex brackets, you can honestly probably do 200+ dex bracket ranges.
Looking here you want to aim for 190 or 230Dex after considering equipment.
Keep in mind that if you intend to use Ellaganos cards to factor that in, as each one is +10 DEX at 10*, and will almost certainly help you go through a bracket.
So if you’re aiming for let’s say the 230 Dex ‘Attack Speed Bracket’, you want your final dex to be 230, so look at what you’ll get from equipment (Using a silver hawk? That’s 28 dex. Plan to use Ellaganos? That’s 30-80 depending on how many). So maybe for someone who wants 230DEX you stop at 200, maybe you stop at 150, all depends on you, your budget, your plans.
You should look at the upcoming changes to the card system. From what they have said, we will only be able to equip 3 cards of each type with cards being broken down into 4 different types. They also plan to change the values on some of the cards. So, if ellaganos cards keep their current attribute, then at most we can get 30 extra dex from cards. If glass moles stay the same, then at most we can get 30% attack power when using an sp pot.
I use 8 ellaganos myself because I’m lazy and don’t want to track sp pot timers in order to maximize glass mole buff. Losing 50 dex will really suck because I play monk and 150 dex is the sweet spot for the ping I normally have.
You certainly can have the glass mole combo, there’s no problem with that, for now. The kTEST updates which we will probably see in 3-9 months however will eliminate that. Since this news is on the main page, it has changed the market and people are dumping glass mole, ella, etc cards pretty quickly. Ellaganos will still be worth using because +10 dex is pretty good for a card slot for how cards are ‘right now’. That all is far enough away where you shouldn’t worry about it, if you want to get glass mole, go for it. Don’t plan for so many Ella’s because you might have to redo the build when this patch hits, instead consider it as+10 dex from Ella as far as your stat points go.
At least from what they showed there they didn’t show you being able to use one card more than once DESPITE the same 'type, so be aware of that as well. Maybe it’ll be +10 , maybe +30.
Highly suggest
Marching Fire - MAX
Rest into Wild Shot because of new changes coming soon.
Can decide if you want to use Caracole, I don’t personally but others certainly do.
I used to play the first build, but I deleted it in favor of second one. At the 1st I was Ranger C3. Compared to this, second build, Archer C2 Ranger C2 doesn’t feel that good. I really feel the lack of lv 15 barrage, Spiral Arrow and Bounce Shot. Lv 10 Oblique Shot and Swift Step don’t really feel like their damage is good, and lv5 SA easily out damages lv10 Multishot (at least I feel so)
The question is: Should I reroll to Archer C1 Ranger C3 (with the skill reset from the “Guess to impress” event), or is there a reason to keep the Valkoria’s A2R2?
EDIT: i kinda forgot that i can buy buffs at Pardoner shops… but the question still stands.
Skill reset is not a class reset, you won’t be able to change classes for probably a while.
Either build is fine, the only skills you really ever use are your buffs and Limacon. On rare occasion I’ll use retreat and marchine fire, but I almost never use wild shot (this will change with the recent announcement, almost certainly).
Of course, until that change, this makes SR really uninteresting to play if you ever get sick of mowing down enemies very quickly. I actually don’t recommend glass moles, because you really don’t ever use SP potions. Unless you’re forcing yourself to, in which case I question, why burn the silver? I tend to favor Minotaurs, though I imagine Ellas would also be good.
As far as stats goes, I actually like Valk’s distribution a bit more, though I think I ended up with closer to 120 dex overall, rest str. Do not invest in Con on characters you do not intend to PVP with. SR is a ricer, not a PVPer (yet?).
If you feel like your damage is underwhelming though, you are either autoattacking with the mouse (if you’re using mouse mode) and not by holding C, or your weapon is crap.
For me, SR was the first class I actually invested in transcending a weapon, because I realized just how quickly investing in this character would let me get an instant (and huge) ROI. You want an Aspana and you will want to transcend it, it will cost you an arm and a leg (or a whole lot of time farming), but the returns are well worth it.
I mostly rotate with Oblique Shot/Critical shot (5 OH ea).
I use controller mode (just feels better imo)
As for weapon, I do have a +5 Dunkel Cranequin (weapon shop xbow) with lv 3 green gem… I know it’s crap but whenever I go on market, they only have 3 normal xbows there. At least Sketis would be nice… But I do have +5 Star Shooter (w/lv 5 red gem) and Pangle Plate set (lv120 equips) that I got from a friend…
I admit that I posted this question before I got the buffs from Pardoner shop. After getting lv 17 buffs i feel great XD And only 3k silver each hour is not a grand expense.
Controller is probably a lot easier to play the class.
Your damage is coming from your offhand, your mainhand is really only a stat stick. And actually, I think even Cafrisun would be more damage than a lower level plate set because of the extra attack, until you have access to end game leather.
