My personal feed back thus far

First off, there will be comparison between RO and ToS in general since they have the same developer. They should know what made RO such a successfull MMO or at least know what made RO memorable.

I am not gonna mention or suggest things that forces Nexon to make drastic changes to the game (they are not gonna redesign the game based on our feedbacks for sure) but some fine tuning is definitely needed. Here are my thoughts on the different aspect of the game…

Maps and Quests

  • ToS encourages exploration in the worse way possible, 99% of the time I am only exploring because I am too afraid to miss quest npcs or quest items that are not shown on the map.

  • Speaking of quests, I think all interactable NPCs or objects ingame should have an indicator on the map whether I have explored that section of the map or not. I lost count on how many times I question myself whether I missed anything on a section of the map because I was too distracted by killing, and circle back to double check.

  • There is zero to no depth when it comes to map designs other than the selected few areas (Tanet Chapel, Royal Mausoleum etc) which made majority of the maps not as memorable than they should be. adding more field bosses might solve this problem.

  • Goddess statues. I don’t see why we cant have a goddess statue in every map or at least majority of them, especially when we don’t have the luxury of fly wings like we did in RO. It is rather frustrating to run across two maps just to get to your destination.

  • Monster density and spawn rates. Some maps have such low density and spawn rates that it is laughable. I am not asking for every map to be farmable and grindable, but I find myself constantly waiting and camping for spawns (higher lvl maps). i can imagine it will be a lot worse if the servers go live.

  • More boss fights. I am sure majority of you will agree that quests in this game are linear and boring, which I understand due to the game’s simple design and approach. But adding more boss fights would definitely help elevate the monotonous questing system. (or more field boss with random spawns as mentioned above)

  • Collection quests. It would be so much better if those items (quest items you need to channel or collect) to individually spawn for players that have the quest? I lost count on how many times I have to camp and wait for those items to spawn or people stealing when I am killing the mobs surrounding them.

  • Invisible walls. well not really invisible walls but things like tree roots, bridges or ledges can be really buggy at times, like you can only cross or jump on them on a very specific location.

Misc

  • Screen shake. Personally I love the screen shake and shattering of the mobs after you kill them, not so much when others players’ actions can cause my screen to shake as well.

  • AOE buffs. Please limit AOE buffs to the people in your party (specifically cleric and priest buffs). I really don’t want to buff the archer or barb that is ksing me. Same goes for receiving a lower level and less effective buff from passerby priests.

  • Changes to monster behavior. Personally I think mobs should reset quicker instead of chasing you for half a map. Or give the person that tagged the mobs a slight benefit when it comes to exp and loot. maybe that will discourage ksing?

  • Movement pills. Please allow players to craft movement enhanced pills that do not stack with skills that increases movement speed or sprint. That would be a good alternate solution for not having statues in every map.

  • Zoning. Change the stupid arrows and replace them with something that indicates a radius. I am tired of zoning into buildings when I am running pass them.

I am not gonna talk too much about classes and stata because a lot of other topics ready covered them. But I wish to see stats scale better in the future to promote better build diversity. Now most of the classes are pretty much one trick ponies that focused on one or two stats.

Overall my experience have been pleasant and positive. I don’t mind the bugs nor the intensive grind sessions. But this game could be so much better if the developers would just fine tune some stuff.

I have to agree to most of the points specially about the map collision (tricky walls), warp portals/arrows, AoE buffs (i don’t know how heal would work) and monster spawns and AI.

I’m not sure about having more bosses, as far as i know they’re restricted only to dungeons and they’re really blunt, it would be nice if we could have some minor bosses at least in non-story related maps.

And there’s a way do craft Movement Pills, there’s an NPC at **** that exchange ** for a generic movement speed item, you can get ** at the same map (have fun exploring, i won’t spoil).

really? I guess I need to explore more then, so far I have only been focusing on lvling to test out when I should save exp cards or places to level. thanks for the info

I just found out the item won’t work outside the map, just forget about it…
