Oh no, I donât think the devs are dishonest. I think the work put into the game, before it was released in KR, is wonderful. Their thank you gestures to cbt testers and everything from the art to the music composition is stunning. The modeling work, the sprite details, the animations- trust me, I was so damn hyped for this game. I posted the little song they made for the players on social networks because I thought it was the most adorable, heartwarming gesture from mmorpg devs.
However, I think the people running company itself are dishonest. Iâve never seen a move that so obviously pins its paying players as guillible and easily taken advantage of. Like I said, if they were short on funds, even asking for crowdsourced funds is better. This would cause far less problems in the long run, and certainly could have avoided all this debate and distrust. They had already crowdsourced translations, I honestly donât see why they couldnât of have gone this route other than the mere fact that they donât think they can get people to pay for their own game without a bait-and-switch tactic.
@sephi4321, I understand that IMC needs money, as someone who is looking to go into the game industry, but it is the manner in which they are getting it that makes me not want to trust them. Like I said, I was completely ready to drop 50+ on the game myself. I actually cashed in a sitting check for an internship just for this game.
They NEED to make profit from this game or cut even, at least. Thatâs why they keep the game, and rush its release.
I am not the one who believed from the start that this game would fail in international audiences. It is the impression I get that the company is the one who thinks this. Why would I have ever gotten so invested in a game I believed would fail?
They would be absolutely insane if they publically stated that they didnât have faith in their own game. Iâm using basic reasoning to come to this conclusion.
I still want this game to make it, but I donât want to support these kinds of practices. Thatâs all there is to it. In my fantasy dream world, this game would be sustainable on a B2P model that was announced from the very beginning.
