This is my first thread on here and i kinda felt the need of making one.
Please forgive me my poor english i would love to write in german but nobody would understand so ya.

“founder packs are so unfair they split the whole community”

basically you can see it like this: this game starts as a p2p game for 3 months - IMC is telling you in advance that the p2p concept runs for 3 months only and afterwards itll release as a f2p game - some games started as p2p and shortly after released as f2p - dont wanna advertise (without such announcements)

also the community is not being split - new server are released cause the population is too high there is no split in the community whatsoever its called life as a game - server come as population increases it got nothing to do with being a founder or not

“i would pay for the game if they let me play it for free”

this doesn make sense…why you feel the need of paying ONLY if you get to play it for free? if you wanna support the game you got the best opportunity right now - on top of it you can enjoy 3 months of early access + get some in game currency

“they only wanna milk us open your eyes guys”

IMC got bills to pay as we all do (unless youre still living at your parents) somehow they have to make money - giving those people a chance to support the game + its development by donating for it + getting something back doesn look like milking to me - if you wanna see milking check games like wartune THATS milking people

how on earth is that a reason for not supporting the game? imagine the game is p2p for life - so you wouldn play it because you feel bad for all the players who dont wanna pay in order to play the game? oh my god…

have you ever seen a greedy company at all? i have seen them…plenty of them! even i might get some hate but companies like those are IGG // Koramgames R2Games etc etc - who are just releasing new content in order to (check the last stuff i wrote) milk people - by giving more ways of spending thousends of USD to become more stronger while the medium spender and free player looks dumb…offering an early access to those who are willing to support the game from the start is not being greedy in my eyes…ofc its a way to earn early money but…they need it!!! they cannot run server for free!!! or do you wanna see a coka cola advertisement every 100 steps you take? and as soon as the advertisement is over your char is dead already…ya sure

greedy company? wait until you see Winner Online(Thailand Plublisher) they sell end-game godlike items at the price that you can buy 4 copies of GTAV, then shutdown the game a week later.

Except there are separate Founder and F2P servers. Which, considering a huge 3 months gap actually separate the community. You want to play with your friends? TOO BAD, he is on another server.

Someone has to wait for their friends for the whole 3 months of suffering process. And, even if we take into account transfering. You will basically be playing with people, who are higher level than you, have more knowledge than you, more money, better gear, etc.

About social aspect of this subject - look at the forum. Look at it.

May not be milking, but announcing this all of a sudden is a ■■■■ move. Also, reminder, Korea got their version for free. And no one complained there about IMC, not paying their bills.

You want to bring me that picture with the interview, where they explicitly said, point by point, that they…

  • Won’t implement items in Cash Shop, other than cosmetics
  • That this game will feel like a true RO successor
    An so on.
    You are trying to justify that?

Hehe funny thing about iRO is that they had a longer beta test than 3 month and there was a subscription tagged on it at the end. Not to mention the dozens of roll backs (during subscription period) and 2 server wipes. But back then, there wasn’t a standard on MMORPG and the player base didn’t fell as entitled as they do now.

i know people who joined ragnarok 5 years after its first release - and they didn complain about “others being high and experienced already” plus imagine all the korean tester who join the international version - theyre experienced alot and yet i dont see anybody complaining about it

ofc there gonna be new server after its official release - thats how a game works - more people more server and yet its not being considered “splitting the community” so every game wich runs more than 1 server splits its community?

All my friends who are interested in the game and are getting founder packs. And that will be the case with most founders.

This isn’t the Korea version and there’s going to be a lot of differences, get over it. Stop using the spoiled brat argument. " Why does he get those things and I dont !?! :cry:"

Did you even read what he said? This is totally milking. We, as a community, were led to believe that the Open Beta was coming soon. This whole three month time gate beyond a paywall came out of nowhere and occurred a week before the Open Beta’s launch. IMC is totally milking the hype they created to get fast money out of eager players.

Money isn’t the biggest issue here. It’s the deception and lack of respect towards the community alongside the poor communication.

PSO2 was “coming soon” 2 years ago…3 months of knowing itll come 100% for free is better than knowing nothing at all - everybody wanted infos on the exact date - now you got the exact date yet you complain? this doesn seem right to me

Subscription and B2P are two different things.
The fanbase is incredibly niche for ToS now, it’s not even completed, only riding on hype.

And, the most important… there wasn’t an announcement about a F2P server coming in 3 months. Bad comparison.

You are missing “friends” section in your post here. There are people who got to know each other since ICBT. But let’s separate them into Founders and freeloaders, good idea.

No, it’s considering exactly like this, because, get this through your head, there is a. Damn. Three. Months. Gap.

Nice try ignoring opinions of those who want to play on F2P servers. This is exactly what makes you an aristocratic brat. By all means, if there is no transfer, stay on your Founder servers, it’s better this way.

There are differences already, the game was datamined. But you are probably blind, so don’t worry about it much.

you can still play together on one server? or make the date for june? i dont see any problem right now - i had friends joining ragnarok when i played it since 3 years - and yet we enjoyed our time together cause there were so many chars to create - on ToS even more

if you dont wanna pay to play the game in its first 3 months its totally fine i dont have any problems with it at all every game needs its free users

Then your friend, who wants to play NOW, have to postpone his game because of you.
You can’t because Founder server is B2P only. Thus, if your friend can’t pay, he won’t play.

You are talking about gap of three years, I’m talking about people, who became friends during ICBT and were waiting for Beta together. What now?

If someone really wants to play with his or her friends, they will try their best to start at the same point. It works both ways. If you want to play with your friends and they can’t afford the founder’s pack, just delay your own entry to the game until they can. This is how me and my friends roll, we wait until our party is ready to play then we go in together. It has nothing to do with paid early access or not.

Sure we can have it for free. Look at Blade & Soul, how long does it take to get to NA shores? IMC is a company, they invest resources in making the game, and opening offshore servers cost $$$. They have investors to answer to, and the traditional/safe way of doing things is to get the local market (Korea) setup and profitable first before venturing out to international markets. This is how the previous RO, B&S, other korean MMO works.

Now IMCgames are trying their best to bring the game to western audiences as fast as possible while incurring a loss. They are doing things which is not the norm for other companies. Do you ever see any other MMO who tries to set up EN servers a few months after KR betas? Why not just help by supporting them in this endeavor if you really like this game a lot?

Why are you even starting another thread? Things are finally calming down, lol.

f2p players are starting to accept that IMC is garbage and you don’t see as many new threads and posts popping out.

But since you want to talk about it, let’s talk about it.

Instead of revolting with everyone and making them do something else, something BETTER for everyone. You just accepted their ■■■■ like you don’t have a choice as a customer.

For what? 3 months that may end up destroying the game for good. I hope it’s worth it.

This game obviously started as a project of love, you can see it in the little things that are in the game, but somewhere down the line things went sideways and they just hurried it and wanted to get it out there to make money. Which you know it’s true, based on the Korean version.

The fact is that you are not buying the game, they are buying YOU with the game.

There are exceptions, I saw some people that have money posting, but just don’t want to stand for this and decided not to buy it.

But most of you guys that are buying into this, sheeps, nothing more.

As for me, I simply don’t have the money, but even if I did, at this point I wouldn’t go for it.

That’s true, but as I said, your friend, who wants to play right now, has to wait because of you.
Maybe not even one friend, maybe this is a guild, or a party. Still bad.

The first option is viable, as described above. Bad, but viable, so I agree.

Except nor BnS, no BDO didn’t have this B2P model. We got it for free right at the beginning, so no, I have to disagree here.

If they took their precious time and warned us beforehand - sure. If they didn’t reinforce this 3 months gap - sure. NOT TODAY.
