My own thoughts on all the talk concerning founder packs

Maybe if you try to read, they could make sense,

Dont bother replying.

i have read a thousend times how people want the game right here right now - now they announce the official date and its all bad? they rush it too hard only for the cash? the servers coming in 3 months are not influenced in any way by the early access ones
its IMCs way of asking for support and yes i will answer to that call and give them my money - cause they deserve it for bringing the game SO SOON to us - also as i mentioned somewhere else youll have the advantage of knowing all the recent updates + not experiencing all the bad bugs wich we as paying players might encounter + the character nerfs wich could kill our builds - were taking the risk for you guys! the guys who are playing for free - and we even pay for doing that - and you call those (us) sheeps? idk bro

You will answer to the call of supporting them? Okay.

Give them the money, give someone else the account to play.

You know what…

Hey, why don’t all of you paying players just give the money and let them work more on the game, instead of running the server for 3 months wasting valuable resources. Wouldn’t that be a better choice, if you really wanted to support it?

I mean, we tested the ā– ā– ā– ā–  out of the game in icbt2, a lot of tests were done in Korea. Really, you don’t really need to play these three months, in fact, it would be even better for them.

Don’t ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā– ā–  bullshit me with your crap, child.

There are legit guys and gals here that care for the game, that know that this is bullshit and they have the money and they are not buying it. As I’ve said, there are exceptions, clearly.

It’s not you.

Korea has a partner publisher.

International server is run by imc themselves (besides STEAM).

This is unknown until after release.

I agree that the OBT gave a lot of ppl false hopes. It truly could have been handled better. But somewhere in the chain of information there must have been miscommunications…

So, they have basically no money, right? Isn’t it funding in this case?

I think KToS had these items, like Stat and Skill resets, etc. Maybe even more, judging by their policy.

ā€œsome classes arent balanced yetā€ ā€œi am afraid of encountering several new bugs in the gameā€ ā€œkorean people quit because of the class imbalanceā€

some of these might been trolled some may not - but class balance based on buffed circles or nerfed ones will occure (see monk nerf in ragnarok even it was tested 1 billion times before)

you tested enough in icbt2 ? thats why people exist who say ā€œwhy didn we get more time to test the game…koreans got so much time but are known for their incompetent bug reportsā€ etc etc

no comment

Because player base is not investors. They don’t sell shares to us. It also isn’t a donation based game, it’s a commercial game.

Please elaborate, I don’t quite understand your question.

It is possible this would also happen in iToS, I won’t like it if they added stats to items. It would set a really really bad precedent for over powered P2W items.

That’s a very nice way of putting it. I’d like to think it was misleading. There’s simply no way they didn’t know they were going to do this. It takes time to set up this kind of deal, especially through Steam. At this point, unless IMC says otherwise, I believe that the ā€œOpen Betaā€ was always going to be a bait-and-switch. They wanted to get people excited and hopeful of a release sometime soon. Then out of nowhere they tell them that they will have to pay in order to play.

IMC mislead their players.

You can easily opt not to pay at all. No, they would not shutdown the game completely, because they want it to be f2p anyway. It’s a cashgrab, that’s all.

If they launched it as f2p from the start. Just support them by buying stuff in the shop. Done, everyone’s happy.

They don’t scam anyone and no one is annoyed for waiting all this time, just to wait another 3 months and no one is annoyed by the advantages of 3 months of game time.

Anyway, I hate threads like this.

That STILL guy, here https://forum.treeofsavior.com/t/do-f2p-non-founder-players-deserve-their-own-server/145165/38

At least had the decency to be honest and say ā– ā– ā– ā–  you, I want the game, I’m paying, I deserve it, I want the advantage.

That’s all there is to it. The game will be hurt in the long run by it and it will die, and that’s a fact.

All the games that went down that road are now underground to prove that.

Anyway, done for the night. Vented enough about this crap, time to find a new game, starting tomorrow. :stuck_out_tongue:

Well, if they publish the game by themselves, they need money for this. Okay, let’s see. They don’t offer free OBT on the go, but B2P model.
So, what does this mean? Either they have no money or they want to cash grab.
Since we are trying to be civil here, I assume, the first option is correct, no? Especially considering the state of the game now.

See, I completely agree with you here.

Or maybe they were saying that the game will be ā€œavailableā€ soon but the forum members took it as OBT. I don’t know Korean so I don’t know the possible language gap between Korean / English.

Regardless, the announcement wasn’t handled very well. Part of it could be that the forum team was anxious to give us news, so much so that certain details were not available to them when making the previous OBT announcement. Still poorly handled, I have to say.

Precisely. They wouldn’t be doing this to piss off the player base deliberately if they could help it. But it is possible that a key investor pulled out last year / publishing cost exceeded their budget etc. Who knows, but certainly they must be facing some kind of financial stress.

Or it’s a ā€œcash grabā€. But IMC has developed several games in the past without the intentions to ā€œcash grabā€ so this is unlikely.

I keep seeing this ā€œFounder Server is separate with f2p serverā€ thing.

is it confirmed that after the 3 month headstart free players wont be able to join the founder server to play with their paying friends? if yes please show me the source, I just want confirmation.

or is this just assumption? because it doesnt make sense if they just lock out the founder server because like most people say it’ll probably not have as much people on it as much as free servers.

wheres the advantage of playing on a server among other paying players who start the same time as you? again its the ego talking ā€œi wanna be best if i cannot be best its so unfair all who pay are bad guys supporting the greedā€

for gods sake…

I don’t know, Granada Espada comes to mind… let’s hope they won’t repeat the same mistakes.

Agreed.

well - its likely to happen depending on the population of the server - lets say the server carries 4k active players at one time youll be unable to create a new character - but you gonna be able to create a new one as soon as ā€œlive populationā€ decreases - looking at FFXIV - no clue how this works exactly tho and no clue how IMC is handling this

Where’s the advantage? That’s not the whole playerbase? Anyone who buys into this gains an advantage over players that don’t buy it.

Aside from keeping your leveled characters, some people are also crying about transfers and if they allow transfers, there’s no clean, fresh server then.

You people will pollute the economy of every new server that comes to existence and by pollute, I mean founders will control the market. This is a bad thing, in case you don’t know and it is an advantage.

Aside from more knowledge of the game, which I don’t really care about. I don’t even really care about level advantages. Mainly the economy is my concern when it comes to the state of the game and the advantage that you get.

For now, I’m accepting this ā– ā– ā– ā– . I’ll wait the three months. If they allow transfers to every new server, I’m done with the game. If they keep you all in one separate server, I’m mostly good with it. Even though this whole deal is utter bullshit.

I personally don’t crave or want any advantage, but I also don’t like other players having the advantage over me. If we start at the same time, and they gain the advantage over me, as we play, that’s fine, but not like this.

Character creation restriction at certain times is fine I guess, but locking it out completely just doesn’t make sense.

Hopefully they handle this well. as have a bunch of friends who actually sees benefit on playing in the founder servers in June as opposed to the newly opened ones.
