My help guide for new Archer's

Hi guys and gals new to the forum just figured id sign up to help a few people who have bin struggling playing the Archer as i did the first go around. Currently i am now on my second play through just hit level 75 and i must say its bin 100 times easier the second time around.

Here are some tips i can give to try and help out people who are struggling playing or who are starting fresh with the archer class

1.CONSERVING SP !

(DON’T PUT MORE THEN 1 POINT IN SKILLS)

Keep all skills other then multi arrow swift step full draw and twin arrows at 1 point…the others should only get more points once you feel you are keeping a good balance of SP. Even swift step can be left at 8 points this way cool down matches lasting effect to conserve more SP at early levels. This is done so skills like heavy/oblique can be spammed over and over at low SP consumption.

(RESTING)

First off the Archer is a SP SPONGE ! Whats the mean you ask …very simple we suck down SP like its going out of style. First thing you want to do is take rest off of ( ins ) button and hot key it to something easy to press because your going to be using it all the time. just sitting alone will grant you some SP back. quickly sit and get back up. This can be done every 8 seconds i believe.

( WOOD OVER POTS)

Simple don’t be buying SP pots for tons of silver when you can buy fire wood for 30’s each …its a waste of SP sit buy that fire and warm your SP pool and your pockets.

(HAIR COSTUMES)

These are huge .they are much more then just cute accessory’s for your archers head. Hair costumes can be enchanted or can be found with stats that will increase max SP or SP regeneration. This is a huge plus !

(POTS)

This ones obvious buy pots from the potion seller and keep for backup i try to carry around 20 only use as last resort

(GEMS)

Warning !!! - if you die you drop all your gems

now that we got that out of the way blue gems are your friend …why because SP. Take a look at the top and bottom effect…why yes my friend that does say SP up !

2.SKILLS AND STATS

(STATS)

STR/DEX MIX depending on build

(SKILLS

Oblique shot - is a great starting skill but unfortunately late game will not be used as much invest 1 point if you wish to help leveling early easy.

Swift step - this is a must have put points in accordingly so you don’t drain SP but in the end i will have 15/15

Multi shot - Great boss killer again add points as desired another 15/15 at end.

Full draw - not a horrible skill with decent damage throw some points in but save the majority for twin arrows multi shot and swift step.

Kneeling shot - currently i have 0 points in kneeling shot this skill will be used only on certain builds such as AA builds.

Heavy shot - your bread and butter attack keep at one point and spam this all day with high $ into its enhance

twin arrows - Great for stronger enemy’s and bosses 5/5

3.LEVELING UP

(MOBS)

Tos has a few spots here and there especially right outside the first level 50 dungeon that have huge mob re spawns you will often see party’s sitting by the camp fires waiting for them to spawn. Take advantage of this party up with a group and grind that exp till you feel the mobs are no longer giving you good exp then go back to doing quests/sides and getting exp that way. Online there are guides for the best spots per level to grind.

(CARDS)

There has bin tons of talk of saving cards …i have done this but not to the extent of others …i save my cards till i feel like i have maxed out mob grinding and story i am to weak for when this happens then i open my inventory and rip through those cards.

(LENA)

Who is Lena …glad you asked shes a gal in Klaipedas city in the north east part who you can go back to after you do stuff in the game and she will reward you with silver and exp scrolls for telling her of your journeys.

(DUNGEON)

Recommenced level is 50 i did my first one at 60. Dungeons give insane amounts of exp if you clear the floor before the boss. once you hit 55ish i would recommend doing 2 a day ( that is the cap ) for the exp alone.

Hope this helps a few people who are going to start over or new people to the game who want to do some light reading before jumping in blind such as me. i will try and add more to this list as i keep playing.

please dude…

help me understand why people keep saying that STR is a waste in archer class. Please…

did u ever achieved lvl 150+?

STR is a waste because your STR is going to come from your weapon armor and other accessory besides hair. The STR does not scale the way you would think it should. therefor putting 100 points into STR really does nothing but 100 points in DEX is huge because of the crit it gives us and how much we will dodge. Trust me i did a 1:1 split on my first build 50/50 str/dex and it was not near as good as my current setup.

i currently am level 75

set you stats points the way you want every stats are usefull at some point it all depends on your style i have set at least 70 points in SPR for a pretty good mana pool enough in dex to get more than 130 in crit rate and some str to rise my damage with the bows… and no matter what ppl could say i won’t change my build becaus it fits me

There’s many different ways to build a character.

I am not a fan of full DEX, or full anything to be honest. The game changes quite a bit as you level up, and what’s good at lower levels can sometimes fall off later on. Not putting points into CON for example will just end with you dying in one shot to everything later on.

pozinho_baracat : I haven’t heard people say STR is a waste on archers. At least not before this. Take advice you read on the forums with a grain of salt, especially when the theory behind it is limited personal experience.

Full dex is based on outdated information, before people calculated the correct crit chance formula, as we now know crit rate gives less crit chance as you level up.

Generally you want somewhere between 4:1 and 1:2 Str/Dex, depending on your class build, as str and dex scale off each other.

People say that strength doesn’t matter because you can get a lot of base damage from equipment, but that is incorrect as you can also get crit rate from equipment.

In fact, it seems that because green gems and certain equipment give so much crit rate at high levels, you generally want to favor strength more than dexterity.

Lvl 10 to have 100% uptime of Swift Step with its +25% crit rate attribute

Unless you go Scout C3 with his Split Arrow, Oblique Shot is main skill throughout the game - it substitutes your AA because: its cheap, it hits 2 targets, it is stronger than AA because of “Enhance” attribute (slow attribute is crap - it greatly increases cost)

this is so wrong because you dont take into account Rank bonuses for Str or bonus points for stacking them in one stat

I don’t really care how people build their character. You could go INT for all I care. The problem lies when people do useless stuff and spread them as if they’re the right thing to do, when it’s not.

People should actually play the game, get to rank 7, before even trying to attempt at making guide, because what works pre 100 won’t necessarily work in 200+.

Agree with @pozinho_baracat , @nizidr .

To OP, I sugest that you edit the stats nosense, but some advice are very noob friendly, its ok, but in level 75 you just dont have enough info about the game to speak about Stats.

For ex, Im level 109 and I got around 165 STR, sure, I dont have a good dex, I dont crt often but I can use gems, hair acessory, and later in rank 5 with rogues Sneak attack I will fix around 70% of my critical rate problem.

Ok @satsus, i’m just trying to help u cause u want to help others too.

Archer class recently was buffed and now they scales very well with STR status. DEX is a good status to start up, ok, will give u dodge and crit rate, but later in the game, where monters hit really hard and also do magic attacks, if you are full dex you gonna be nothing. Being a STR/DEX/CON hybrid or even 3:1:1 give u dodge enough, crit rate enough, crit damage most than enough, and most important, survivability. All archer’s skills scales with STR ( at least before they release Pied Piper who scales with int ), so it’s so good to boost this up. A good build for archer is composes by a lot of STR, a good amount of CON and a little dex, and with the equipments with green gems.

And i’m talking as a little experienced player. ( 2 swordmans lv200 last beta, 1 archer lv 194 and 1 wizz lv 113, not even talking about my deleted characters )
Please take care about your knowledge, i’m just trying to help u as well.

And keep going like this, we learn A LOT when we try to help. That’s a good way to go.

I personally go 4:2 STR:DEX, Got to 200 in CBT and worked perfect then, got majority of crit from gear & crit most of the time.

^^ no pots… sitting to the fire chum.

Sure.

If you’re not an archer3 you can do that.
But for everyone not wanting to sit down 80% of the time ingame, buy pots.
You kill more when you buy pots and use them… and make more money.

Easy math. Even for new chars.
I made an wizz.
Got myself the first 8k silver.
Buffed myself with sacrament, bought an +mamp headgear for 5k and buffed myself with blessing from pardoner.

Now i did double the damage with an auto atk then with energy bolt.
After 15 mins blessing wears off duo hit count. After 1 hour i look at my level, realize it’s 33 and i got 40k silver from monster kills.

Fazit… if you’re starting now and using auto attacks sometimes.
Get yourself buffed cheapely from pardoners when your’re below level 90.
Even lategame sacrament is fun~

This guide made me cringe. So many wrong info…
