My first attemp on archer builds

I like to use xbow and deliver yellow dmg(crit). therefore I have created 2 builds based on my likings. hope to receive some constructive comments


this is my first build. Can this build survive in both PVP and PVE (mainly)?
Is this build good for solo play? and if i’m gonna distribute my stats as 1 str : 2 dex, is this feasible?


as for my second build. the same question as above. but for this build i will tend to change my stats distribution to 5 str : 1 dex or pure str. same. I plan to use this build to solo play too

Questions:

What’s your ping?

Why scout and not the conventional Falconeer?

Why leave Barrage (for build 1) at 5?

If it’s 200ms or more, don’t bother with QS unless you’re fine with non-ultra-awesome DPS. High Anchoring is not that great to sacrifice a great Barrage. If you want to go PvP, you need CON.

P.S. Can’t see your skill distribution for Ar2 > QS 3, so I can’t really comment.

i’m not really sure how to look at my ping. when i type //ping, i get a number like 0.408691. so Falconeer is better. i will take note.

Btw, i heard pvp is pretty broken. so i will tend to focus more on PVE. i have another theoretical build which i have just created.

Multiply the ping in-game to get the ms edition. Thus, 0.408691 would be 408.691ms. To put in perspective, the recommended ping for QS3 is until 100+. Any more and you have reduced damage due to lag eating up your auto-attacks. There’s a video comparison from kToS somewhere, probably one of the numerous QS build threads.

For your second theoretical build, you’ll be having really slow levelling early on and tough boss battles. Multi-shot will be one of your main weapons against bosses and Oblique helps, a tiny bit, with early Overkills and with tagging mobs so you don’t get KS-ed that easily.

Pavise is supposed to help with gathering mobs together for you to “AoE”. (Not entirely sure how it really works since my ping is too high to consider going down this route) Caltrops too, but I hear the area is quite small. If the builds I’ve browsed are viable/correct, you don’t really need max Caltrops.

Other than those points, looks good. Now, to wait for a QS3 pro to enter the thread. Eventually they’ll come.

Alright thanks for the input, but i heard that i’m to pursue the path of ranger and fletcher, i need to pump more dex, while for QS, i should pump more str. Is my understanding correct?

I can’t really advise you on that since I’ve always gone onto the AoE route that needed STR>DEX. But if the guides have said that, it can’t be too far off the mark. Keep in mind that people have started discovering DEX has a soft cap, due to something like there not being enough bonus crits given by high DEX, thus giving less damage as compared to the higher end STRs.
