My comprehensive list of feedback to improve ToS for all types of players

People will drain their SP bars, then drink potions, then drain their silver, then what? Complain they have no silver to buy SP to spam skills?
And that is exactly what will happen.

Or do you think they apply something that the average (that is, the ‘many’) person learns before they are twelve years old (consequence)?
You’d be surprised.

Only the most inexperienced really continue to operate like this for long, and learning this is just part of the game experience. Do not deny people the game experience because you think they’re stupid.
Understand that there will also be those who will remain ignorant; those who will refuse to change their ideals because they think theirs is the only proper method. I am not denying anyone anything, for these people will choose to deny it themselves.

Some people just never learn. I speak from experience when I say this.

I believe you have made my point clear enough, so I will not drag this out any further. The scenarios that I have stated can and will occur. Whether or not you consider these to be a negative side effect is entirely up to you, as this will only create a new issue for the community to tack on.

Wait, so do you sprint everywhere then complain about being tired?

I will level with you: I understand exactly how stupid people can be. However, if we molded our world to fit the lowest denominator of intelligence, we would have a very slow moving and boring world indeed. This is my point.

Rather than forcing everyone to have to put on a safety harness to climb a flight of stairs, I think it best to just put a sign up asking people to use the available hand railing. If they don’t, they don’t. They’ll complain and sue. Honestly, that’s fine. For a human being of this capacity, that’s going to happen whether you strap them in that harness or not.

Is the intent is to make the audience as broad as possible (read: make the most profit$) at the expense of dynamic and engaging game flow? If yes, then I will change my stance on the matter, as implementing cooldowns to regulate a player’s silver use will be effective to a degree.

If this is not the intent, then developing a game for stupid gamers is a stupid idea. Working with a system that is a little more elastic is a better choice.
To answer this within the context of this game, no, I do not. Why? Because the game itself tells you a method (which, had they not done so, there will surely had been more complaints from others) to resolve this. If hand holding is the way to resolve the issue from your proposal, then by all means slap in a message from the get-go saying: “Burning your SP is bad, and you should feel bad.”

You know what else there is other than a literal sign that can pull players out from a well of stupidity?

Other players. This is an MMO (though I too forget - it doesn’t really play like one). There will be other and smarter people and the diversity between someone who drinks all their silver vs. someone who is very efficient is extremely important. To drop one or the other would be criminal.

Yeah the cool down on this game is kind of ridiculous. Can’t spam spells like RO. (I know it isn’t RO but it would be nice)
Yes, and whether or not a player would choose to listen to another, is entirely dependent on their nature.

In the end, it will be the community’s composition that will determine the outcome, be it a negative one or a positive one.

It’s not about listening to another player’s lesson. It’s about self improvement, and that can be acquired through observation completely involuntarily. If a player doesn’t care enough to improve their mastery of the game (by means of a concept humans subconsciously learn by age 12 - consequence) then they certainly aren’t going to care about wasting their money on potions, no?

Segway to next point: this is absolutely true, though the principals and structure of the game will have a huge affect on the community’s composition. Call me selfish, but I would love if ToS was filled with diversity rather than people so stupid they need harnesses to climb staircases.
