Musketeer PVP/PVE - QS C3 or Ranger C3?

Like the title says, I’m trying to make a musketeer build that could be used for both pve and pvp. I’m aware that archers aren’t too strong in pvp right now, but I’m hoping to make it as good as it can be under the current meta. I would like some advice from veteran players; is QS 3 or Ranger 3 better for musketeer?

Archer 1 -> QS 1 -> QS 2 -> QS3 -> Archer 2 -> Scout 1 -> Musketeer

Archer 1 -> Ranger 1 -> Ranger 2 -> Ranger 3 -> Archer 2 -> Scout 1 -> Musketeer

These are my two options currently. However, I’m always open to suggestions and if you feel that another class would be better in one of these slots please feel free to share.

Thanks =)))

I would go Ranger myself for steady aim if I was considering either one of those for C3.

I myself will actually only go Ranger 2 and take Rogue 1 instead of Ranger 3. Sneak Hit on rogue is situational but can end up giving you more burst than steady aim 3 would. Really up to you and how you want to play

ah, that’s interesting.

but I heard steady aim was really important which was why I was thinking ranger C3 was a necessity… I’ll definitely look into the rogue tree though. Thanks :smiley:

Steady Aim is more consistent damage, Sneak Hit just gives you more crit chance if you shoot someone from the back

Oh, so is the idea in pvp to stealth behind the enemy and snipe em in the back? Sounds pretty dirty on paper but im sure it’s probably really fun to play lmao

On a side note, I heard rangers got a nerf recently? I’m not 100% sure about this but my friend insists that QS 3 is better for pvp because of stone shot and pavise? and something about QS skills being available to use even when a gun is equipped instead of having to weapon swap… Wasn’t too clear on that part though

QS+Musket is better if you want to autoattack, Ranger+Musket is better if you want to burst and run. I’m planning my musketeer around GvG, where, hopefully, I plan to find soft targets while cloaked that I can quickly burst with snipe + headshot and run away

Which would be more consistent for pve and pvp? QS or Ranger in your opinion?

QS has high blocks buffs and a shield. Crossbow also have 25% piercing by atribute, but you’ll be using a musket or swaping weapons (which will need a macro or some sort of quick key to work and a minimal ping). If you cant swap, the only QS skills you’ll use are the buffs to shoot while walking and the traps. so maybe it wont worth it.

If you CAN swap you’ll be doing sniping kills quick scope mode and having a lot more durability than any other ranged there. So it may work.

Thank you for you insight! Ranger would also require weapon swapping to use their abilities right? I’m just wondering if the scaling on their skills and the nerf to steady aim makes them inferior to QS in the later stages of the game/PVP

I’ve heard AA builds are not as good as they should be, so yesterday I’ld say QS is better. Today I dont know, and maybe will only know when someone gets there.

It’s hard to say if AA build would work. There are currently no stats, item, and few buffs that increase your attack speed. What they really need is to have possibly DEX increase your attack speed.

Also there aren’t many set that would boost AA damage yet, there are some weapons that have on hit effects which would end up being the core set up. Outside of that -shrugs- nothing to really push up the damage.

I’m actually going for A3-QS3 AA buffs, and it seems good because the A3 offers a lot of damage with multishot and QS3 offers a lot of survival on mobs, quests, boss and even PVP. Its an STR focused build, if I get 50% real crit chance i’ll be lucky.

But i’ll figure that out, cant go back now and its REALLY fun to 2-shot bosses with multishot

I think QS is the official option for Musketeer…
Since it was the only class I found that has musket as supported weapon in skill description…

i want play ac3 qs3 do u have skill bulid?

That’s pretty bad.
5 points in stone picking, 1 in stone shot, 1 in teardown, the rest in pavise.

Only two skills shine within QS:
Running Shot and Scatter Caltrops~

pavise = useless~
I dont see any reason to pick stone shot unless for PVP~
Same with Teardown~
Any skill that kicks mob away from AOE are not welcome in party~

Stone shot for leveling purposes. It does decent damage, consumes quite a bit of SP, but you don’t have much alternatives until QS C3.

Teardown is for utility purpose. A skill that have AoE knockback potential is always useful.

You think it’s useless, yet you maxed it out. Weird Logic there.

how about rapid fire guys?

Theoretically, if you could stack Swift Step and Running Shot before activating Kneeling Shot, drop a decently leveled Pavise and you somewhat become an anti-archer AA turret in a frontline situation. Stun a target with Stone Shot(10s stun at lvl15), drop into position and fire away, rinse and repeat in 1v1 situation. Then again this is all wishful thinking, I don’t know myself if it works correctly.
