Mouse Control - One Glaring Flaw

Hi. I prefer mouse control over keyboard control as an archer. Feels much more fluid to move with WASD and target with the mouse. However… there is one issue.

When you attack using Z, you can simply hold down the Z button and you automatically acquire targets and shoot at them constantly. When a target dies, you don’t stop shooting.

However, with the mouse, when the target dies, you stop attacking and have to click again. As an archer it can get extremely laborious having to constantly click to get new targets.

So, please, add some kind of “Continuous attack” option for mouse users so that you keep attacking when you hold the mouse down. Thank you.

I’d also like an option to deactivate mouse movement, to use it for combat only.

Also seconding OPs request for targetless attacking.

Woo!

Also, with mouse control, it seems glaringly apparent that the party interface takes up too much “screen real-estate”, as it has an invisible box around it that takes up nearly a fifth of the screen, that whilst is see-through, cannot be clicked through. Please fix!

(You can see the target mouse turn into a “player select” mouse as I move the mouse left)

Same with the chatbox really.
I’d like to be able to click an enemy that is under it.

Chatbox isn’t so bad because you can see the space it takes up. With the party frames it’s a random invisible chunk of the screen.

I also prefer mouse control but had a few difficulties with it - targetting mobs like bats for example is quite difficult because they’re flying so their hitbox is a bit iffy.

What I’ve done to make it more comfortable is bind one of my mouse macro buttons to the Z key. It would be nice if there was an option to toggle the behaviour of mouse control:
Clicking specifically on mobs and auto attacking
Or holding the mouse button down and attacking in the direction of the cursor position.

Or even just have both methods active - when you click a mob you auto attack it, but when you click the ground, you attack in that direction instead of using click to move (and maybe even apply this to only held down clicks, so if you click but don’t hold it down you move instead of attacking).

It’s for the other party members when they extend the pt limit :sunglasses:
