Monky Kony Tonky :)) 4th Alt

There are so many discussion/build guide here in forum regarding monk, effective build, pros/cons, best stats, best gears

just do a search like “Monk + any rank1-4 class” ins the search bar

Yea Monk is really confused one and i get headache a bit cuzz sold my all stuf on my main storage…:cold_sweat:

There are many post with the most popular and not so popular builds already. Read them aand design your own build according your preferences cause they can be very different. Then if you have any particular doubt about, just ask so we can help you.

Cleric2>diev2>monk3
is one of the popular monk builds

split between con, dex, and some str

Disclaimer: ToS Monk is NOT RO Monk. If you’re coming into this expecting a OHKO character, or a 1v1 character, don’t.
ToS Monk is a hybrid support-DPS… on the other hand, it can support much better than RO Monk ever will.

If you’re still up to it, there’s some relevant discussion on it here:

Just read through the thread, and there’s your guide.

The most popular build is Cleric2>Diev2>Monk3, as BlueByu mentioned. It gets good party support, decent dmg.

If you want to focus more on dmg, you’d get better dmg with something such as Cleric2>Diev1>Pally1>Monk3, but significantly less defensive support than Diev2 (World Tree is amazing in both PvM and group PvP/GvG).

This one…Thanks

Btw i choose 1 cleric 2 priest on new cleric other one going to PD soon.

Cleric2>Diev1>Pally1>Monk3, i think too much on this build but still i dont have brave to make this :frowning:

Cleric2>Diev1>Pally1>Monk3 is a HUGE mistake:

  • If you’re going for Diev, you HAVE TO take Diev2 for Carve Owl & World Tree (Otherwise, don’t even bother to take Diev at all)
  • Paladin really don’t have much synergy with Monk (go for Cleric 2/Priest2/Monk3 or Cleric1/Priest3/Monk3 for better hybrid support/DPS or Cleric2>diev2>monk3 for heavy DPS. Either way, Cleric/Priest should be 100% better choice for support/defensive than going for Pally). My monk is Cleric2/Priest2/Monk1 and going for Monk3 in future.

About stat, I highly recommend you go Full Dex or High Dex/Low Con (30-50 Con, rest to Dex) for PVE. For PVP/PVE balance, you could go Dex:Con as 2:1.

The reason I don’t put any point in Str is because you ALWAYS & CONSTANTLY need dex for crit chance EVEN in late game. Crit chance formula:
(Crit Rate - Enemys Crit Resitance)*42/Your Level = Crit Chance.
Note, 1 DEX usually give 1 Crit Rate (not include bonus points)

As you can see, suppose your Dex stays the same throughout the game, the HIGHER level you get, the LOWER Crit Chance you’ll get. Even if you go FULL DEX, your raw crit chance WILL NEVER REACH 90-100%. Heck, it will not even reach 80% in end game (lv 280), if you don’t count bonus points and stats from items (I think the highest raw crit chance for full dex: using skill is around 75% and 55% for auto attack if i recall).

So, if you really want to see that yellow crit line to appear whenever you attack mob, you better put high points in Dex. Also, 1 Dex gives you crit rate AND evasion AND accuracy, where 1 Str ONLY gives you physical attack. Don’t watse your points splitting between Dex/Str (or your crit chance won’t even reach 50%), you really need a lot of points in Dex to truly harvest its potential.

The Paladin is supposed to boost Heal from Cleric C2 from Restoration and Smite is better melee option than DP when you meet Demon monsters (9 sec cool down but using 2x Smite + DP on 10 secs on Demon > full 9 sec DP)… Resist Element is just there because nothing else…

You should check Paladin > Monk topic in Cleric sub section there… It’s not totally useless because both are still STR-based build. Heck my own char is even STR-INT Cleric 2 - Monk 2 - (future Kabbalist) build

Do not bother going only taking 1 circle of Paladin in a Monk build. It’s a garbage idea and waste of a circle. If you want to mix Paladin and Monk, go Monk1Paladin3. Take Paladin at rank 4, Monk rank 5, then Paladin the rest of the day or go Paladin rank 4-6 and Monk at rank 7. I’m speaking from experience playing this build to level 252.

Restoration synergy is nice, but having more heal tiles and safety zone blocks is better. Level 5 Smite’s dmg will become unnoticeable around level 180.

@mertbsrnn Follow the link in the first reply and check out the first two builds. Cleric1>Priest3>Monk3, Cleric2>Priest2>Monk3, and Cleric2>Diev2>Monk3 are the most popular full Monk builds. If this is your first character and you don’t have funding, then follow their stat recommendations.

Idk what developers was thinking making the monk scale in DEX, is like he was in the wrong tree, you pick monk and waste all the INT scalings from other classes.

Pretty much the same whit the poor paladin smite scaling on STR.

With priest 2 I would say, read up on monk2-PD builds. It might be worth your time researching

Monk1Paladin3 would only work when the Double Punch debuff attribute gets implemented in iToS right now its only in kToS

It still “works.” When we get that patch, it will get a lot stronger. I think it’s a better option than taking 1 circle of Paladin if you want to combine Monk and Paladin.

I m verry happy about answers but why no1 offer cleric2>priest2> xxx build?

I start to do 2dex1con now, btw not clear on builds maybe i can go for c2>p2>Monk3 ?

Hey guys, what are your thoughts on
C2 > D2 > Monk2 > PD?
Swapping golden bell shield for PD seems very worth it. Is the damage increase on Monk3 needed?

Lv10 Energy Blast (+2 from Suncus Maul and +1 Monster Gem) is very very strong to pass up to PD unless you are leaning toward PvP then going PD would benefit you more

My EB damage at the moment w Lv20 Attribute reaches 50-60K total damage might go higher ifI hit plate type targets

So c2-p2-m2-pd1 does fit together?

c2-p2-m2-pd1 for better support & c2-p2-m3 for better solo, make up your mind!
