Monk needs a buff?

My POV is simple. I don’t care about PVP. Even if I do it’ll probably be a GVG or 5 on 5 scenario.

In my opinion, monks need to go Diev route. If you play solo, then its up to yourself to do whatever you want but a Diev Monk is much more useful to a party than a Priest Monk.

First of all, the most popular support build is Cleric2-Priest3-Chaplain-Plague Doctor. If people want a support, this is the support they are bringing in. They won’t be interested in bringing a Priest Monk in. A Diev Monk on the other hand offers Laima, World Tree and Carve Owl. Carve Owl + Peltasta is how you should look at this ability.

It is true that Priest Monk is better for solo and pvp but it is outclassed completely by Chaplain Doctor in all those respects. I look to my build for what I can bring to the team while playing a class that appeals to me, I don’t have any reason to think of my DPS as anything more than suoplementary. Priest Monks are not as good as you think they are unless you are very certain you want to solo, then go ahead.

Diev is counter intuitive to Monk skills; most monk skills scale with Str and dex. Diev usually is more caster and goes int/spr. Energy Blast does 4k crits on 80% of mobs and the ones that are weak to holy does anywhere from 6-8k dmg a tick for however many times it hits I think around 20(@lvl 12) so 20x 4k = 80k or 20x 6-8k 120-160k but with a very long cool down and the fact that it can be canceled easily negates the benefits. Priest is pretty much required for Earth tower; diev cannot revive. This is why I say Monk is a ■■■■ class because of the fact that it’s in the fcuking middle of everything it’s not good at anything any route you go with it. Just because you go pally or diev or whatever the fck you think is relevant doesn’t work.

I actually have to agree with all of this…

I was trying to play monk with a more positive mindset after seeing some “han ul park” monk videos doing some nice damage (but look at his items… and attributes…on top of that, korean server got very good ping so his DP is so fast) but anyway…

I spent a lot of silver on stamina pills, holy powder, glysottis and the damage just isn’t worth it… ehhhhhhhhhhh. I have 80 stamina but I always run out of it because the cooldown on the pills…

the attributes are also … so EXPENSIVE compared to any damage gain…

dont get me started on the range of DP… it is so BAD. how can an auto attack have better range D: …

It seems like… if u want a melee fighter cleric… u better go chaplain they can do like 4k damage for 1 auto attack (Without limitations of stamina pills…) and that’s only at level 140 or something D:…

I wasted 300 hours getting to Monk and farming for the items…

now I’m just using it to go rush dungeon boss 3 times a day zzzzz

vakarine isnt useless, get it and ull see.
carve attack isnt worst attack ever, with str it doesnt fall off, unlike priest buffs.
diev>priest

deal with it, pardoner buff > your priest c3, 2k silver cost > 3 rank
also about earth tower, the silence statue > revive/res, and that’s not your job to have those skill, it’s SUPPORT job, we are DPS
Dont misunderstand me, i didnt say all the priest are useless, but a monk need to focus more on dealing dmg, not supporting

Monk is a trash clas shity dmg not even 20% what a full con! wizard do skill range is a joke its half of normal atack u cant hit anyone in pvp so u do 0 dmg

Well… Melee classes do less damage than wiz and archers in this game, we already knows that. If you want to hit hard as a trunk, play with those classes… Sorry but that is the truth, besides monk its not good for pve hehe, its a support class which can hot sometimes.

stop saying stuff like that “monk is a support bla bla bla” “if u want damage play wiz+archer bla bla bla” it’s the same old s**t

what we are trying to say that Monk is really not worth the effort put in, not only becos of its damage but because many of its “QoL”

people who have played monk to 200+ all say the same thing. that its not so great…

I enjoy playing with my monk anyway, archers steal my mobs sometimes but its life… They are better in this game.

Monk is being buff up in ktos, no too much but its something, anyway I think itos wouldnt get it… Imc seem a lazy company

In my opinion, the main problem for Monk is the hitbox / range of the attack.
Double Punch hitbox is about half of the auto attack hitbox.
Do you ever seen monk in Earth Tower?
Attacking the mobs from that close range means suicide.

Meanwhile spear user could utilize the barrier to maintain the range to the mobs and doing damage.

Here is a good example how a melee class still able to provide damage on earth tower by utilizing Barrier and not just waiting for Hangman Knot from Linker or CC from Diev / Wizard.

(Watch for the Cataphract /Dragoon)

It s not just the skill base damages that is the problems with monks, Its also the disapointing attack power of weapons available to the cleric classes

at lv 170 other classes like the swordsman and Archers have weapons with attack power that ranges from 300-400

the best 1h sowrd and maces for clerics at lv170 has a base max attack of just around 230-240

Monk got a series of buffs, we have just not received them yet.

monk is a support WHEN u go priest c3, please just admit it, it’s not fit the monk style

The class should be strong by itself, it should not depend on what you picked before.

I play monk, lvl 230 ATM, went Cleric C2 > Priest C2 > Monk C3

with my Lvl 17 Double Punch (+2 from Suncus) with 50% Attrib, I deal 4-5k each hit with DP, yes the range / AOE is a big issue, but playing with 30-50ms ping really gives the advantage for monk since DP is ping reliant.

Meaning to say, I easily deal 50k damage within a span of 5-7secs, and Stamina? with our current content you can easily get 80 Stamina.

Most of these guys playing monk really don’t know how to play it. Overall, Monk is undermined but playing it right really gets it going.

    • Double Punch will have a 10% Chance of afflicting the enemy with a [Double Punch] Debuff
    • Double Punch Debuff: Recieves 30% Bonus damage
      with [Strike] Property attacks (Doesn’t Stack with God Finger Flick
      Debuff.)

God Finger Flick
- God Finger Flick will afflict the enemy with a God Finger Flick Debuff for 5 seconds.
- God Finger Flick ( Debuff ): 50% Additional damage from [Strike] Attacks. (Doesn’t work with Double Punch’s Debuff.)
