Mobbing is a little frustrating

So, I can’t tell for sure about others classes, but as a cleric c2 / diev c2 I find it frustrating to mob, the main problem is the agro system.

The first thing is, somehow monsters don’t like me (or maybe they like me too much), sometimes they go attack someone far away instead of me, other times they will just change their agro to the first person who passes by (i mean, really, they change their agro to someone else, even if they were already attacking me)

The second problem is that they are too “slow”, they don’t chase, or just take too long to chase, and sometimes they will stop following me even if I’m beside them

And finally, the main problem, that somehow include the previous 2 is, they are not predictable, they do not follow a pattern, so it’s impossible to know when they will follow me for like, 100 meters or just 1, Impossible to know if they will agro me or agro the guy far far away from their spawn.

Anyway, my suggestion here is, improve the agro system (so they won’t change target / stop following after “random” distances) and make them “think a little faster” so monsters don’t drop out of the mob too much

I subscribe to that.

When I’m running around mobbing with my Krivis, I’m giving every mob a tiny slap with a spiked mace, watching them get angry and expecting them to follow me to get revenge.

But while some really follow me after 2 seconds (which is pretty long already), some just look dumb, wondering what they just hit, watch around until they finilly decide to follow me and then a few of them just do nothing at all. I even saw some giving up on following midway just one step away from Zaibas, forcing me to cast an extra cure on them ò_Ó

So whatever I’m doing, unless you get a swordy with autoaggro-taunt-skill with you, mobbing these slowpokes is a pain in the ass.

Amen, mobbing is terrible here because nothing follows me. Half of the time they just stand there and do nothing or they go attack somebody else who is running by after I smacked them.

have you considered that maybe… not all ai is made the same to create variety and uniqueness?

i’ve never had this trouble in the chapel with the hyper agro mobs which sound exactly what you are looking for. they exist, expecting everything to be the same (at least ai behavior in this case) isn’t exactly stimulating to creative game designers.

And one more frustrating thing is homing shoots from monsters, that can’t be evaded! I run away from bullets and bullets fly after me in any direction!
And one more frustrating thing is damage that hits me no matter where I was, near of far from monsters!

Sadly I have not yet become a bokor and still a Krivis and my dreams of a Zombie Apoc are still miles away. However I have noticed something odd. I light my fire (forgot the name of the skill but some players mistake it for a bonfire) and monsters suddenly attack it?

Is it some form of fear towards fire or is it possible those value have a higher than me? :sob:

It’s not about lack of variety with different mobs, it’s about lack of patterns in the same type of monsters, not sure how much you know about game development, but honestly, variety isn’t good when you can’t find a pattern, and also, complexity doesn’t always mean better gameplay, this is one of those cases… I’m all in for more behaviors monsters, really, but right now, mobbing is just annoying, boring and tiresome.

I really find mobbing terrible. Better if it won’t work, because while you are mobbing them, they won’t respawn and other players will have troubles to find some. Then at least limit it to 3-4 mobs, but some really walk all over the map like they want to gather 20 mobs at once, that’s just not right and unfair to other players.
