Meta earth tower builds?

Yes, but except that SR2 doesn’t bring anything to the table.
Tunnel visioning on earth tower is a mistake, even if retreat shot is very strong.

Once they release more end game dungeons, which will also involve bosses/ small packs with huge HP, then SR will quickly turn to be useless, while builds like R3 F3 will continue to make work.

Not sure if it’s reliable but other say that Retreat Shot’s AOE ratio = Skill level. So at SR C2, it becomes 10 AOE Ratio.

Like i said, Retreat shot is very strong, no doubt about that.

But thats about it, the ENTIRE skill set of SR2 is utterly garbage.

Do you really want to spend 2 ranks because of one ability?

There are a few videos of a SR2 QS3 mobbing whole rooms of 270+ mobs. Prepare yourself for getting tagged by archers a lot while gathering mobs then angling the archers and the melee right while you run into the wall.

Still very strong, maybe even excessively strong, when it works. Just takes commitment to play that playstyle.

Well, that’s really more of a class balancing issue. There’s no need to stay away from SR C2 because the other skillset is near useless.

IMC should do their work instead of making players stay away from the class they want to play due to balancing issues.

Honestly, the entire design of SR looks half-made/ half assed.

It has boring and uninspiring skills, 2 of them are copy-pasted Multi-shot.
Other one is just a “auto-attack” with 0 CD which eats SP and some ordinary 1 shot AOE with knockback.

None of those skills except retreat show takes advantage of the mount mobility, as all of them needed to be casted (and stationary i think).

Advancing to SR2 only gives you 1 skill, and like said before, its a multi-shot with a different skin and name.

Retreat shot is the only interesting skill that SR has.

Look at the Cata class on swordies, it has MUCH more diverse and interesting skill set then SR.

The class doesn’t need balance adjustments (well it does but…) it needs a total skill overhaul, which is probably never going to happen.

so A c1 - R c3 - F c3 i hear sooo much of is one build that works in ET

im guessing the standard AOE build or Sap c2 and Wug c2 will work as well

what OTHER builds could work ?

i want to be able to be reliable in ET and beyond but also dont want to be pinned in for class choices if you know what i mean.

ive looked at fletcher alot and then seen vids on musket and really like it
but is there a way to make a skill based musket build work for ET ?

I personally play R3 F3 however the viability of it in Earth Tower will be mediocre at best however it’s great to play.

From what i’ve seen the most viable Archer build for Earth Tower would be:

A2 -> QS3 -> Falconer -> Musketeer

However I haven’t played QS3 so wouldn’t have any idea how to build it

though thats an Aa build isnt it ?

i was thinking along the lines of

A c2 - Sap c2 - Rog c1 - Fal c1 - Musk c1

to many choices i want to try :frowning:

AA would be good with it yes, I believe it would rely on a “Linker” in the party also

do you think Sap’s traps would be sufficent AOE in ET ? or is there damage already wearing down by then ?

and i heard that ET has alot of Phys Resist and thats why mages are better in ET ? if thats so would Wug’s Posion’s help out in that regard ?

It depends on your party really, which is something to be considered. As long as your whole team meets the requirements of having consistent damage, survival and control of the monsters you can get through just fine.
We’ll have our own sorts of a meta of what’s good and what’s bad when more players are high enough to do ET.

Here’s some sapper 2 play before the kill count bug fix.

Seems relatively good, the sapper as incredibly low HP though

Still would be interested in seeing a standard QS3 build, interested in playing it so would like to see how it pans out

Guy has completed floors 1 to 5 as A3/QS3/C. He has a video of each floor and it shows him using Pavise in the corner as an extra layer of defense.

A2,Sap2,Wug2,Musk is pretty good

Anyone ever thought about bringing along a hunter c3 with Growling for mob control?

Would it work?

I am still trying to find this video @EternalRift was talking about

Shameless bump, since we have the day off today to lurk in the forums

i’m making one
my plan is
archer C2>Hunter C3>Falconer C1>Cannonner C1
