META DPS Archer at the moment?

Hi all, sorry for being late to this discussion.

Was looking at the class ranking earlier, and I just realized ranger3-fletcher3-mergen2 is in top 10?!?!

I think I wanna make one to see how powerful it is. Did a bit of research on skill allocation for fletcher.

Why max crossfire? It seems like a slow and not so powerful skill at first glance. Wouldn’t divine machine arrow be better and costs less skill points?

I always liked DoT, is broadhead worth maxing?

By looking at some videos, seems like jump shot has good AoE atk ratio. I think I might max that one. IIRC, spread shot and triple arrow miss like 50% of the time?

Below is my attempted build, please help me out, thanks a bunch.

Edit: Triple Arrow had always had a good hitbox “feel” ever since, and this is complimented by Aiming.

Not too long ago IMC has fixed Spreadshot hitbox btw, and if you ask me this is my hardest hitting skill right now, even better than Pheasant with Roost+Monstrance+Kneeling Shot combo. Last night I was running 35F and boi was I surprised to notice that since I changed QS3 for Ranger3, my Spread Shot per arrow is hitting damage cap. Take not that Spread Shot has 5 arrows, 3 overheats.

I can post screenshot as proof. But others may have reached damage cap before but I just reached it now thanks to Ranger3.

1 overheat of Spreadshot. Only the 5th arrow apparently didn’t reach dmg cap. It’s not also fakehit or something as it hit different mobs.

If I choose ktos meta, it should be somewhat OP’s 2nd build (rangerfletchermergen). But for me, I just personally prefer Falco over Fletcher.

So say, if I can put down a couple of skills here and there and reach damage cap on every hit or overheat, and still an AA build will outdps me in PVE, I have no problem with that honestly…

So while even if Steady Aim “only” buffs my Mergen skills, for me it is still worth it. And this is the reason why as per my case.

@gexmnlin13 I didnt try fletcher 3 merge2 to. but I feel that fletcher is more like a filler because the rangers builds now are focused on critical damage and bost skills. maybe for a dot kind build fletcher 2+ wugushi3 would be nice and some like others said ranger3 sapper3 merge2 could be strongest

Ok thanks. So I would max spreadshot, jump shot, downfall. 1 point in parthian, 1 point in arrow sprinkle, and rest in triple shot?

Currently I am full dex… Though I have a crazy build in mind if I ever get my hands on Demon Lord Marnox card like mostly con and yellow gems on bow lol. Astra bow is +22, and yes after multiple resets recently I have finalized to Archer2-Ranger3-Falconer3-Mergen and then Mergen 2 for Rank 10.

Will be sad not to get Mergen 3, but for me essential attributes unlock on circle 2 most especially waiting for Homing Arrow’s Quick Charge atrribute. I dunno but that skill is my least used one mainly because I still have to charge and also gets cancelled when you get hit (fixed by jumping).

Spread Shot and Triple Arrow for sure. I don’t think Parthian Shaft could be useful? I will still test Jump Shot on Rank 10, I know this has a very high skill % modifier and Downfall… I could share the skill distrubution if you’re keen?

Yeah, it’s sad not to get mergen c3 but I think the rotation will still be incredibly solid. I currently put quite a bit of CON on my char because of velcoffer runs/low defense, the rest in DEX, and my masinios is sadly only +13 xD

Parthian from my experiences is great, but I have yet to try the newly modified spread shot and triple shot. When did they updated it?

No no, Triple Shot has been the same. Only Spread Shot got fixed. Honestly it was long overdue, as it used to miss at point blank range even with Aiming lol

I will share my build just really busy today… I might even consider making a simple build guide for Falco enthusiasts like me who love the class

Edit: oh I havent tried Parthian Shaft but will surely try it out come rank 10. Because when rank 10 comes, I will get Downfall and Jump Shot added to my skillbar… Currently even without it, my skill rotations are really solid. For me, it feels like a waste having too many skills that you end up nit using anyway. But I will check Parthian Shaft for sure

I have not tried running Velco on my main char, mainly because I have no intentions of updating my gear as of yet… But will share my experience when I do

Dont worry! While dex is the obvious stat for us crit builds, I am kinda thinking the meta might change soon. Demon Lord Marnox will eventually give us +20% minimum crit chance (correct me if I am wrong). I think that soon, yellow gems on our bows for insane critical attack damage could be the next big thing. Green gems just give a flat crit rate, and by now everyone should know that crit rate has diminishing values, making Demon Lord Marnox ah very good gold card for us. And if we keep getting challenging new content, we will also start pumping stats into CON as well. Full con perhaps? :joy:

I see… Yea I haven’t been touching my falco3-mergen since May-ish, so I never tried the new spread shot. I assume it plays like barrage from ranger?

I think I’m maybe gonna make a new one with fletch3-mergen2. Kinda wanna go full mergen3 when rank10 is here, and let my QS3-falco3 be the AA it’s meant to be. But just wondering, for a full mergen, would you go falco-filler-mergen3 or the top 10 one (arch-ranger3-fletcher3-mergen2-3)?

In a Ranger3-Fletcher3-Mergen 2 build you can ignore parthian and arrow sprinkle simply because you allready need 3 hands to handle your min/max skill rotation.

Falconer variants have a smaller skill rotation and can fit in arrow sprinkle way better.

Even with Demon Lord Marnox Card + the new Acessoires (you better safe a **** load of golden anvils /5 pot…) We dont get the old good 100% Crit rate back. Getting any kind of Legend Card seems impossible on EU right now. 5-15 players doing WB from time to time.

Doesn’t matter if u play Falco sup-semi DPS / AA / Fletcher-Mergen - “Demon Lord Marnox” is allready the BiS Legend Card for us and that wont change with the upcoming R10 Update.

I personal prefere red gems in a bow. High skill modifier of Fletcher/Mergen or Falconer getting the most value out of it. But this is preference since we get quit a few options in the future. For example AA builds have to take the hard choice of crit acces. vs velco acces.

Like everything else in ToS it depends on the situation (Party/Enemy/…). I think for game Content with high def/hp (Velco/WB) it will still be a decision between red/green gems - ignoring yellow.

Absolute personal preference. I also switched around full and mixed builds like Full dex or high dex/con. In my opinion there is no solo play content where u really need con and “my current meta experience” is a Linker3 for WB/Velco making “full singe stat” builds super valuable.
That said I personally would recommend CON to every “new player” or player that still struggles with Gear.

Let’s hope there will be some challenging new content!

I have seen a Demon Lord Marnox in market yesterday for 750mil in Telsiai. Really good, but not practical as of yet.

On second thought, I think the other guys here should just consult you. Whatever gear I currently have, attributes, experience and such are gears I have gotten a long long time ago. This was even before Primuses were released, ever since I have stopped devoting my time to ToS, and any improvements to my falconer main in any way.

Game took too much of my time and I probably got bored, so my unsolicited insights are basically just passion towards the Falconer class ( i really like it) plus the gear and set up I currently only have. So yeah I can’t even share insight with Velco raids.

Just a thought, if Im right, if ranger is mainly used for crit shot, why not take ran1 and probably some sapper2? I might miss something, please enlighten me.
