Mergen is underwhelming

Ah I see. Thanks! Assumption-based theory: every hit creates 3 explosion damage, each of which will damage nearby enemy. That’s why two adjacent enemies create 6 damage to each other (6 explosions).

EDIT: so it does not work like barrage. Instead, the more enemies that are close to each other, the more explosion damage will occur. For example: 2 enemies close to each other = 2x3 =6 damage each. 3 enemies = 3x3 = 9. 4 enemies = 3x4= 12. And so on. Therefore, this skill will be amazing with hangman or magnetic force.

This is a very rough estimate, but getting the full +15 attack range attribute should cost ~18m. You have to level it at +1 per level.

Will post some vids here:
Mergen range increase + kneeling shot bypass boss aggro range:

I was gonna ask the same, I’m also only at A2 (Lv5 Kneeling). Is it enough? :stuck_out_tongue: The attribute for range increase doesn’t seem to be working in iToS yet so I can’t test properly.

Thanks for the info though @greyhiem

If you are low on funds, I would let someone else test it. Quite expensive attribute.
I forgot you were A2 (kneeling 5), I am not sure if kneeling 5 is sufficient.

I have the attribute but I can’t feel/tell any difference because I haven’t extensively been playing “at a distance” from bosses. Whenever I use RS, I “circle” around the boss (as a habit) when I was still doing Mission runs. Now I can’t shake that habit :stuck_out_tongue:

It’s just a QS habit. I circle boss on qs too. Feels better to move during running shot. I have to remind myself to repeatedly move left-right, and up-down to keep boss facing away from party. (at low lvl siaulai of course)

I’m curious if you were to build a mergen how would you build it?

kneeling a3 already bypass aggro range just fyi. unless the boss has a auto reset positon/ aggro Like 290 bosses

Lost to a krevis/taoist :[ oh well got 2nd

You can do that trick with necro skels as well, though you have to at least aggro the boss once.

Vs ghost armour boss/ice element boss? Krivis taoist lightning damage~.
Have seen quite a lot of mergen combo already:
iToS fletcher -> mergen/hakka.
Ktos fletcher -> mergen/hakka.
iDreamy scout -> mergen (due to capture burst).
A3 Scout3 Falcon1 -> mergen (circling homing arrow is nice).
QS3 A2 Falcon1 Scout1 -> mergen.
A2 Sapp2 Wugu3 -> mergen.

on 12m wb basically who ever have the largest nice bust burst wins. :^)

Taoist +krvis combo is one of them. Fencer, dopple dragoon and musketeer all excel in rotation hp burst(2-3m burst damage in 10-20second). soo yea…

To be honest, I love my Mergen but I had to accept that I am no longer top DPS on bosses and I’m absolutely useless in TBL against teams that has stone skin, shield users, ausrine, 7revenge, prophecy, bloodletting.

Still fun though.

I’m still at the dilemma of picking mergen or hackapell once I reach rank 8 for my A1R3F3 archer. Either seems to be a great pick and so far from what I’m seeing when I explore the higher level maps, it seems to be that AOE would be king yet there is theories that hackapell would be a better fit for R3F3 since it synergises more due to the multi-hit [missile] AA and skills which Skarp would do tremendous damage to whatever that the hackapelle has rounded up. But yes, hackapelle would be a single target boss fighter compared to a mergen aoe caster.

I agree we’d never know how these 2 classes are going to fare once rank 9 releases and it’s a gamble, but the tone of mergen seem to be ‘meh’ and the otherside that tells me mergen would benefit from steady aim, but I also think hackapelle would as well…

So I can’t decide even after typing this out, so I’d like some thoughts from the playerbase who have already reached r8.

Thank you.
