Machine gun for beginners!

Oi everyone ! :slight_smile:

Here I am, new to the game and having a lot of questions for you pro guys out there !

Im playing an Archer and want to play it with a Machine gun build. I’ll go Archer c1 -> QS c3 (Running shot <3) etc…

So here’s my questions :

  • Is that build still viable ? -> I saw a lot of Archer build with a lot of AOE, some traps etc. and as you can imagine, i dont want to be useless in party or in higher lvl in general just to play a funny build. So is the machine gun build worth or not at all , I saw some videos of dude dealing a holy ****** amount of dammage but I want to know if I personnaly could follow their steps or if they just are fully stuff/optimized dude ! :stuck_out_tongue:

  • Should I better go Archer c2 then QS c3 in order to get Kneeling shot or should I stay with my idea of rushing QS c3

  • Wich ratio of DEX:STR should I use ? I know its a controversial question but some advices me to go full STR, some with equal STR:DEX, and some with 3:1 in DEX:STR (heard 4:1 once) ! Im kinda used to that kind of game in wich STR is really cool at the early lvls but is not that op at higher level compared to DEX. And btw, im really patient and aim for the high lvl, wich means I dont want to put too much point in STR just to rush high lvl faster :stuck_out_tongue: !

  • I know that Oblique Shot is a must have and my bread and butter skill for leveling, so should i invest in some SP regen item or should I consider putting some point in that stat wich give SP (here you understand i forgot the name of that stat haha) ?

  • Is there some item which give some Attack speed ? In RO it was easy to attack faster, here i dont know ! (Dont tell me Running shot + Kneeling shot pls ^^ )

better go QS first, otherwise it will take too long till you have running shot and this is when it starts making fun. i do the same build ending with musketeer and am almost rank 5 now.
For the SP problem i used 2x Shine Bracelet and a Panto Talisman, now with running shot i dont have SP problems anymore like in the beginning.
There is no item that gives you attack speed, only skills with that effect.
It’s my first char ever in this game so this is what i can answer

Thanks for you answer, I already went to QS c1 as a first upgrade :slight_smile: !
Now I guess i’ll find some SP item !

Otherwise, do you enjoy this play style ? Is it actually worth compare to some other archer build ?

And what about your DEX:STR ratio :slight_smile: ?

one thing to ask 1st
do you have the ping for it?
under 90 and its alright
under 50 is optimum
above 100 and your losing more than half of your damage

Oi !

Is the ping the same as other online games ? Because I have about 50ms (+/- 10) in other online games ! Im wondering, because pings seems to be a bit different in Tos a bit higher than normal ping, nop ?

try using cmd and pinging this
54.88.25.242

it should give a somewhat accurate estimation of your ping to the Tos servers
btw the servers are located over in us east.

Find out that you can type //ping in the game to get yours !

Mine oscillate between 0.120000 and 0.220000, wich I assume is 120ms and 220ms, am I right ? (Because I dont think i have 12 to 22ms xd) !

thats not as accurate as cmd but yea, if your getting 120-200 then yea your ping is probably too high for a machine gunning build, i wanted to machine gun myself but i found out the hard way when i got to QS3 over at kTOS lol

I guess we’re living to far from the server haha !

Anyway thank you for the advice, i litterally prefer change class etc instead of sucking after hours of leveling xd !
