Lvl 60 feedback: Chat (whisper), alt char (account sharing), stats(?), ksing/mobs

Okay so I read some of the feedback posts and just wanted to fill in some things I thought was missing from my point of view :yum:

- Chat
Seriously? We’re in a closed beta and both whispers and party chat is SO bugged (including the whole friend-system here), how are you supposed to actually play an mmo when you cant talk to people. Should be a main working functionality imo.

- Alt Chars
First off I made a wizard with a friend, and we leveld to around 60 before we said lets try another class. We made one, to find out some stupid things:

  • Your pet is account shared
  • Your gold is not account shared.
  • Your storage is not account shared?!
  • You are stuck to doing all the quests again?!

Some big wtf’s here:

Why on earth is the pet account shared, specially when it rapes everything early on being around lvl 40 as it was for us (lets not even mention the pet AI…), and not gold and storage. What then is the actual purpose of the “team” name?

Second, with all the quests in fresh memory, having to REDO everything just to try a new class? This was such a big turn off that in the end we never leveled more than a couple levels and quit. I guess we expected it to be more free like the RO-style, where you can go to payon cave and level. Guess we should have seen this coming because a lot of maps have environmental changes when you finish quests that are needed to proceed to the next map. I would really have liked to see that account shared, or at least have the option of skipping the quests you already did on that account.

Moving on…

- Stats
One big question here, do stats even matter? Is the game meant to be so “casual” that there is no fine-tuning? Is it perhaps the level cap that is so high that it only becomes apparent late-game?

- Ksing and mobs
This part I already saw being adressed, with suggestion of more channels, some kinda ks-limiting system. But it somehow feels that the maps are very small, even if you increase the channels, everyone cant get their own channel to farm on. Compared to RO or any other game, there are rare mobs sure where you have to grind hard and fight other people. But in ToS it seems to be more of a rule than exception.

Anyways that was it for my rant, but I leave my positive feedback too:

:balloon: There is a gridsystem (on the ground)! A positive surprise that makes the game seem more strategy based and not so childish.

:balloon: The many classes and oportunities!

:balloon: The visuals! Id like to give a big bow to all the heavy design work in the game which is great. But at the same time is probably a direct reason to some of the limits that’s been discussed.

:balloon: The storyline! Also you notice that some npcs actually change their dialog when talking to them, after you complet different quests which is pretty cool.

:balloon: Hidden chests and secrets, which for me always is fun.

A sidenote on less important things:

  • Way too strong effects on buffs when overlapping, in a party with full buffs you cant even see the characters anymore.

  • Limitation on appearance colors, both hairstyle and cloths. Again this is probably a limitation as to not break the design of the game, and some hair colors and unlocked by achievements. But it would be cool if you could edit the colors of your costumes for instance.
