Low-rate is perfect!

sigh
Oi! Exp rates may seem a little low, but keep in mind.
This is there first time running it on steam. I think they’d want to test out the servers before throwing everything in.
Besides, it isn’t easy to transfer things from the KBT into the IBT. KBT doesn’t use steam, so they gotta test some stuff first. So please, just be patient with it eh?

Yes I agree, low rate works well for this game. But maybe the grinding part should come later, close to level 80~100.
I think IMC games reduced the EXP rate of this CBT because most quests on lvl 100 maps are not translated yet, so they wanted to orbit the player base around the early levels and maps.

Experience rates are too low defo.

Also I feel the blue mobs that reward silly experience should be removed.

Raise the experience by Atleast 3x

Easier said than done bro.
But maybe when the servers are ready or if anything that’s preventing them from doing so is out of the way they could do it.

i love this game and want 1 key me friend

At the moment no word has been given about the “end game”. If leveling is all there is in the game then I’d rather have it take a couple of months.

This is going to take a lot more than a couple of months…

I’m really excited for a low-rate game that isn’t going to hold my hand. This is going to be the first time in a long while I’ll actually see a fun, meaty progression rather than rushing through content to some mediocre raid scene or endless seas of dailies/crafting milling/AH manipulation.

I wonder, how much time do you expect to play this game? Just 2-3 months or for a long time? I personally wish this game ends being so awesome that I play it for years so I don’t mind if I takes me a lot of time to get my OP char …

It took you 2 weeks to get to lvl 30 in RO? o.O In pre-renewal that should take about 3-4 hours and renewal, I can do it in about an hour. But there’s a big difference in ToS and RO1 in regards to exp. RO1’s level cap is 99 with a rebirth and by lvl 60-70 you will have all the skills you need to grind your way to the max. Renewal is 175 but it’s easier to level and after 100 you can do group daily quests which give massive amounts of exp. ToS’s level cap is a flat 300 (I think), no rebirth or anything and you will only obtain all your skills once you are close to or at the character level cap. Overall, if the rates stay the same I believe ToS will be a much longer grind than RO1. Though that being said, that’s not a bad thing. It’s a good base to start on but I think we should have more options for leveling. I’ll make a separate thread about that though.

I haven’t played the game yet since I don’t have any key’s but as for the exp rate, I do believe that the current rate according to you, is great!

The reason why I like having a low rate is due to the nature of the game having tons of hidden contents like hidden classes, hidden quests, etc. I read that there was a hidden area in a low lvl dungeon (lvl 10-20) that had lvl 100 mobs which is, in my opinion, really awesome! If the players breeze through levels so easily then the contents would be less valuable since they’ll also just breeze through it if they find them.

As for the people saying that “its a cbt, we should be able to lvl faster in order to check the bugs in higher level/ hidden areas” then wouldnt it be unfair to obt players since almost every hidden stuffs wouldve already been found? Besides, with all the hidden classes, why would you rush to max lvl instead of looking for you’re own hidden class in this game anyways? If what they say is true, that hidden classes are found in hidden dungeons which can only be found by having hidden quests, then the exp from said hidden quests might be enough to level players up faster than grinding.

All in all these are all just opinions based on forum information so I’m not even sure if there really are hidden quests and dungeons. It would be great if some cbt players could confirm this with screenies.

I do agree. I prefer a server where there are different ranges of level and those matter, also it should take some time (6 months) to get to the max level.

Just like a lvl 30 is different than a lvl 80 other than 1 day of grinding… sometimes the level difference and low rates make you feel proud of your level without being a hardcore player, it is still something that matters to you.

I don’t think the low-rate in itself is an issue.
The problems come from the consequences that entail from it.
Levelling slowly at such an early point of the game forces people in a bunch of maps, and makes them fight with a very limited assortment of skills for a long time. Also, all those people will roughly have the same skills, since they’re still at the first ranks. So characters ends up mostly the same. And thus it can easily get boring.

I really like this pace. You can stay in one area for days and even weeks, finding new friends. No need to rush from map to map like crazy. Grinding in a party is really fun. Please IMC, don’t westernize the game. Whatever you do, keep it as close as possible to kTOS. I want levels to mean something in this game.

I like the low rates, if I wanted to play a game with instant gratification I’d go and play one of the several hundreds that already exist

stay in one area and grinding mobs for weeks ? you high bro

Or you walk from one NPC to another, accept quests without reading them, follow some markers, kill the monsters that are marked and then walk to the next NPC to do the same over and over.

It’s a matter of preference.
For my optimal MMO I’d have to grind monsters that are an actual threat to me, something where I’d have to be constantly afraid of dying to some cheesy skill. Sure, that would require more time and effort but they could compensate it by either granting party bonus exp or by having the monsters give 1-2% exp per kill.

I also love stuff where I get challenged to think about a way to grind more effciently, something that encourages me to check out new spots and places until I find something where I can use the strenghts of my class in the best possible way, that way I’d also be encouraged to interact with other players in order to find rumors for potentially better spots.

We all like our MMOs in different ways, have you considered trying to pick a different MMO that suits your needs and expectations? There’s plenty of them out there, so why make ToS like all the others?

yeah i think so too… but being able to play the game for the first time… i just dont care about the xp rates anymore
Grind or Quest, its up to the player if he wants to play the game the boring way or the interesting way.

As usual the people supporting ‘these particular rates’ are clueless individuals who got to maybe level 20-30. Those who actually know what mathematics are worked out that with the rates increasing exponentially and the EXP per kill barely increasing over time, it would take literal years to get a character to the 400-500 range. Good luck on sales.
