I hate bots. Bots were the mother fu.cking thing that killed ragnarok. But bots and exp boosters are the same to me, and if i gotta choose, i rather choose a bot because its cheaper.
I thought you hated bots. How you know they were cheaper than exp boosters? xD
+1, something is wrong⌠I am lvl28 fighting against lvl45 monsters and getting gear for a lvl40 character.
Thatâs nonsense.
Additionally, the equipment at the store is not worth to buy (because of price VS granted stats), it is better to get gears from monsters but again, I am lvl28 and cannot do anything with a gear that is restricted to lvl40!
This game is really good, but there are a lot of details to be fixed / balanced / added.
Grinding a bit is nice, but being lvl 27 with no quests, while the monsters are lvl 38-40 is not. You either make the exp progression in par with the area you are supposed to go, or you simply raise the exp rates.
I hate to work, but does that mean i am not gonna work if i am forced to?
If half of the people are using botsâŚ
i will be forced to use too. Or do you think i am dumb enough to work my ass off and burning my eyes looking at the screen for hours while the neighbor is sleeping and his bot is level uping faster than me?
WAIT, DIDNT YOU LOVE GRINDING? lol. Contradicting much huh
2 weeks to get to lvl 30 in Ragnarok? hahahaha man you really did something wrong then.
While having a fun experience is the general goal, trying to grind for hours just to gain a couple of levels (while still under lv 30) just seems like too much especially at such an early stage in the game. Especially when skills are still using up a decent chunk of SP and the amount of gold you have at those levels doesnât generally cover the costs of constantly having to re-stock potions so you can continue to grind. At later levels it sounds fine, but at such a low level it just feels like too much
Idk why youâre fighting that high of levels. Iâm 28 fighting lvl 31/33
Dude, where do you people come from, Slowland? But here goes my last explanation about grinding & bots so try to understand this time child.
1- i never said i âlove gridingâ.
2- But yes, i like griding when itâs the only way and everyone is doing too.
3- I like walking, i like walking with other people. Walking for hours is hard, yet its fun if everyone is doing. But if the majority of the people, even your friends are going to the beach by car, would you be a retard to go walking and get there 3 hours later?
4- I dont think so. Same goes for griding, it gotta be fair and in order for griding to be fair, your rivals cant be using bots or hacks etc⌠If the people from Slowland still couldnt understand with this explanation, they never will.
It depends, is the walk to the beach fun on itself? or is all the fun at the beach(means progression vs end game if you ask me).
You would smoke then all other people smoke? Nice group pressure.
Maybe itâs better to hope that the bots are banned, not to join thenâŚ
Some Publisher do something about bots and goldsellers, other not. It all depends on IMCGames.
I am truly hoping that imcgames has a great anti-bots / hacks system just like or even better than Riot has.
The riot games systems are so good, that the server can even tell when its you or another person playing on your account! I hope imcgames has that tecnology too.
Otherwise, i wont even bother playing the game and spending my money on things that other people are getting for free or much cheaper.
Everyone complaining about the grind seems to be missing the fact that this is a beta.
Not in the âoh theyll make it super ez 2 get to cap lol!â way, but in the âYoure playing this game for the first time, with no knowledge/experience to draw on, with tons of missing content.â kind of way.
The low-rate is perfect for the niche style of game this is, itâs a nice break from the endless Freemium WoW-Killer Themepark MMOs out there. A call back to old-school, sandbox-style leveling is something a lot of dedicated MMO Vets, myself included, have hoped for.
Anyone who is worried about the grind should be aware that after release, leveling will become much more efficient the more experience and information we have about the game.
This has happened with literally every MMOG, from Ultima to RO to WoW to W*.
Yeah, the difference is that this is a game that could have a community of 100k players, but THIS absurd level of grind is probably gonna drive 75-90k of those players away. Even more.
Itâll get easier as time goes on, donât worry.
As of right now, weâre playing this game like a toddler in the dark in an unfinished room.
We donât have any experience, any knowledge to draw on, and any resources to pull from. This is the absolute longest that any grinding will take in this game because nobody knows how to level in any manner even resembling efficient. We could be doing the equivalent of punching boars in the forest when we should be slaying baby dragons for hundreds of times the EXP.
Not only that, but weâre missing lots of content that will be present in future tests and the release version, including things like the oft-talked about repeatable quests and missing zones.
The grind may seem insurmountable now, but remember: Even in a game like World of Warcraft at launch the average time to hit cap went from several weeks to a miniscule five days.
Couldnât have said it better.
And Im pretty by the time everyone has played ToS with a second or third character, the grind will feel less bad.
Also, skill build guides and exp training guides will eventually roll out and make leveling easier and more streamlined (albeit strictly following guides wonât be fun).
I agree with you that the low-rate/grind is okay, but seeing as this is a Beta Test, having the exp rate be as low as it is may not be the best as most people wonât be able to get to the higher level content. There could be TONS of bugs and problems in those areas and weâd never know about them if people cannot access them within this testing period. However, for the beta test only the exp should be higher so players can truly test everything.
To be honest, the grind isnât thaaat bad (from my point of view) but it must be because Iâm used to it/like it? At first the game didnt really grew up on me until I started playing more and had fun with my boyfriend on skype but yeah xDDD Anyways! The thing is that right now weâre on a beta and everyone is excited to try out all things fast because we only have one week, so I want to think thatâs the main reason of so many complains.
Iâve been one of those solo players rejecting party most of the time and Iâm lvl 30. After reading the forums I thought it would be more difficult but it wasnât, even if Iâm soloing stuff as a Priest⌠I do agree that maybe a bit more of quests would be cool/useful, but I feel like if exp is boosted too much later on the game would be too easy and it would (personally) bore me like most of mmorpgs nowadays, 2ez
You guys are missing the point. Early game grinding makes the game boring and isnât encouraging for people to keep playing the game. Itâs not a matter of ârushingâ to end game, but with how limited you are at the start of the game having to grind for hours on end with a low variety of skills can be really unfun. Stop having the mindset that the experience for each level should be a straight line. It should be a curve that starts out low and quick, and eventually gets high and slow near higher levels.
First of all, donât forget that the level cap for the game is supposed to be around 500~600. I understand, you donât want that level in one week, but with how slow things are right now, reaching level 100 will just be a really boring process and considering how the rates are at the moment, itâll just take way too long to get to 500. What is the point of playing the game if youâll have to grind an entire week just for a level? So yes, the rates definitely need a little adjusting for the final release.
The main problems right now lie on the emphasys on how interesting the grinding is and the exp rate being too low. Grinding is just boring at the moment since every monster moves the same way because their AI is really poor (donât even get me started on bosses), donât have any kind of interesting drop pool (see RO/Maple Story, in which every monster had some sort of common/rare drop and it was interesting to get to a new area and see each monster drop something different), and donât really prove to be much of a challenge.
The grinding itself isnât the problem, itâs just how boring it gets since nothing new ever happens and it takes way too long.
