Low-rate is perfect!

any know, where drop temsus flamberge

Well, it all depends. What’s the experience ascension rate? Is it exponential or linear? What would the people prefer?

I don’t mind the time needed to grind to level up.
But at least we need different place/monsters where to level up. It’s only one map right now.

+1, it’s wasn’t so boring if we can choice and explore better places for each classes.

Do you play an MMO to have a fun experience or to reach max level?

There’s very little end game content so why would you want to get there so fast?

Pre-renewal RO, the one with slow leveling process has its level cap at 99, now look at the level cap of ToS. And even at 1 rate I can easily get up to 7x in one day starting with a naked character (without any prepared gears and stuffs) playing a novice to wiz or hunter. So no, whatever classes you might play, saying “it took me 2 weeks to get to lvl 30” as an example in this case appears invalid to anyone who had a considerable experience of playing the game.

Also tell you this, the one who said “it took me 12 hours to get to lvl 35” may play a character build which is effective at farming / leveling. Now you try to play the more “quirky ones”, your leveling process will come nowhere as close at that. A lot of contents will be wasted because everyone will just build their characters for grinding, no one will up early skills for PVP or specific circumstances because they have to put all into the skills which are good for grinding. Let’s take Wizard for example, they only have 2 offensive skills, one with long cool down so you need to up both skills for leveling, because of this skills like Lethargy or Sleep will become wasted, no one needs them early game and if you get them you will become useless in leveling, parties won’t even want to take you because you are so useless.

Also it’s not about grinding, we will grind, of course but when and where are what important.

It might be good for the earliest levels to be fast because you don’t have many skills to play with at that point, but it should take ages to reach the cap. If you’re not capped, you get exp from whatever you do. That means progress is made and higher levels are status symbols. At an endgame, the biggest issues are providing a sense of progress and having chances to get epeen, so making a level cap easy to reach is counterproductive.

They are right when they told you that. Before ~25-28 you still have quests to do, when you reach to 3x you are suddenly left with no option but grind at 4x places, and all the gears you get will require you to be 4x too. This shows that the level scaling is quite wrong. I don’t mind grind later in game but they should make it easier for players in early game, at least let them take enough of skills to grind effective.

Fast is for everyone different. I only complain about this very early grind. Killing an generic enemy over and over again is no fun. I would love it, then later the grindfest starts and you killing some bosses with your party.

This guy gets it.

I over the course of years I managed to level all the classes to 99 transcendent (pre-thrid class). For me the fun wasn’t about hitting the max level as fast as I could so I could start having fun, but I was having fun with my friends as we attempted it.

When you got tired of grinding and wanted to take a break you’d go to your hangout spot, sit around with friends and strangers and just talk and still have fun while making new friends in the process. I even met my first wife on RO by sitting outside of Prontera and talking to newbies and before we knew it we were living together… Granted that went south three years later when she betrayed me, but you get my point.

Wasn’t there already an experience table formulated? Will someone post that here and a beta tester compute their procurement rate to compare? It would be more helpful that way.

It could be ok for character level, not for class level.

I’m an older player and have very little time to play but I am not concerned about the amount of time that I will need to reach max level. Playing MMOs should not be all about reaching max level but one where you enjoy the game while leveling.

On the other side of the coin, a good MMO is one that has good low and mid level content so that people won’t be so concerned about reaching end game content. Actually, make it so that some low/mid level content can’t be done when you exceed higher levels.

yeah low rate is perfect … but not for the beta … you need to progress fast in the beta so you can test the mid-end game or we will never be able to test it before release

While I agree with you. It’s much too low for a beta test where we NEED to test content. As it stands there are a lot of bugs and I imagine more when we get to later content.

I wonder if “area level caps” are gonna be effective in this game? That would solve you overpowering everything when you’re really high, and low level maps can still be relevant to all players above that level.

Took me 1 month and a half to get from level 1 novice to 99 Hwiz( Thor update, first thing the devs of RO did good after making advanced classes).

I also had a 9x Stalker,SinX,Champ and Sniper. It wasnt hard and it didnt take me a year to get all those chars WHICH IS OK. This game has 80 classes AND WILL GET EVEN MORE with updates. If each class takes 1 year, then I’m gonna die before trying every class.

Yes, this was all on iRO

Also on ggro(7/7/4 rates) it took people 1 day, 1 ■■■■■■■ DAY to get from 99/50 to 99/70(there was an event, almost every job was done in 1 day). They didnt have thor, all they had was abyss lake and bio3(which came 8 months after trans on iro iirc(NOT 100% SURE ABOUT THIS)). Now divide that by 7, it’d have taken them 1 week to max level a character.

TLDR: If it took u more than 3 months to max a char on iRO after trans, you were doing it wrong.

Edit: Now lets compare with ToS. It takes people 12 hours to get from 1-30(avg). thats 2.5 levels per hour. Now lets imagine people play an avg of 4 hours a day, thats 10 levels a day, which is good for the low levels.
Now, for how the exp curve looks so far, at level 100 i think it’ll take 4 hours to get 20%. thats 20%/day. Assume it keeps that way for each level from there(probably gets even worse). It becomes 5 days/level. And you have 500 levels more to go.

That totals… 2500 days to get to max level playing only 4h/day, or 10000 hours

I like the exp rate. Been grinding for about 7 hours almost 30.
But you know once the game comes out the cash shop is gonna
have exp boosters lol

When you hit 99 and realize that you are not even half way to max level, then maybe you will understand that this isn’t RO.
Yes, similar, but NOT RO.
