I confirm the issue with joint penalty bug in dungeons… Very annoying since its the main utility of linkers in groups… And it seems to disappear by no reason at all (even when no one is ataccking the mobs and they close to each other it disappears in a few seconds after casting it).
I gave up on physical link, I usually end up killing everyone in the party when using it… It also not that usuful because you share tank damage to dps players (that usually have low health in comparison to the tank), so it actually works like a debuff most of the time
I can confirm it myself. I see it go away at times and I am confused. Not even fully sure what triggers it.
According to @Staff_Julie in patch notes:
Linker’s Joint Penalty skill fix: The skill correctly lands 10 hits instead of 6.
Does this means that the skill ends after 10 hits (well at least its up from 6…)? Or is it something different? Assuming it is, 10 hits is so little for a party. Will try it again in a dungeon to see if I notice the difference. I may reroll a Wiz 3 if indeed this is the case, as Linker won’t be much interesting in parties with hit limit.
I will look into this and report my results.
EDIT: I did some testing and can confirm that Joint Penalty does in fact last for longer than 10 hits.

In dungeon it seems the link breaks as soon as any of the linked enemies dies. No idea what the 6 to 10 hit changed

This makes me rethink taking Linker on my next character.
Do you feel it was still worth it in it’s current state?
The issue with joint penalty happens more than enough for it to be noticeable; however, the skill also works fine most of the time. Joint penalty + Hangman’s Knot is still extremely good at making dungeon runs smoother and increasing the overall efficiency of your (and the party’s) DPS.
Because of this, I find linker still viable, and it does seem to be a bug so it will be fixed in the future.
Im not entirely sure its worth it in its current state. High cooldown, doens’t work with AoEs and disappears way too early. I’ve never used it on a dungeon and and saw it work for the entire duration. As peridaez said its viable, but not awesome. When/if it gets fixed it will be great. Howeber Linker 2 and 3 seems like a complete waste of ranks in its current state.
I’ve personally never seen Joint Penalty wear off before it’s duration is up in dungeons because when things are linked, they usually die very quickly. I think Linker is still worth it. Even with the extra CD on Joint Penalty and the Hangman’s Knot nerf, I still think they are a really good class. Spiritual Chain is still really good and Umbilical Cord I am sure has some uses when you go full support.

The only change I disagree with is Joint Penalty having its CD increased. Hangman’s Knot needed a nerf. Maybe not to the level it got, but it needed something. It was way too good prior.
Also I want to keep this topic about Linker’s skills, more specifically about their changes since the CBT. So any posts about one’s opinion on Linker buffs/nerfs should be posted elsewhere.
I have a theory that it is 10 skills rather than 10 hits? Because the disappearance rate is still pretty high enough for me when it comes to bosses at the missions. Either way it’s really hard to find out what is causing the stupid bug and I hope some staff member would address it soon.

Could we get some information on this change regarding Joint Penalty?
I don’t have video proof but I just tried it with my Hoplite friend. They used “Thrust” 12 times and Joint Penalty did not break @elysium.
This makes me wanna skip linker in the build I was gonna do.
Maybe it was linking only 6 enemies instead of 10 for level 14/15, before the patch
Yeah I was thinking that too. Would love confirmation though.
Would be strange as I was able to link 8 before the patch
