LF> "Fun", non generic class

I have a Barb 2( S1->P1->B2) and I notice in dungeons all it turns into is " Taunt pl0x ". I am downright not considered a DPS, even though I am built to be one, and that drives me insaaaaaaaaaane.

Similar issues I am having with my Paladin 2. People only want heals, they don’t really care about my support DPS, or anything, Heal 10 + barrier is all they want.

So I am looking for a class I can do my own thing. Ability to solo well is a must, as long as usefulness in dungeons.

I DO NOT want the following

A1->xxx-> Fletch 3
W3->P3->S1
W->C->L of any sort

Really interested in
Dragoon
Fencer
Paladin
Plague Doctor
Rogue
Shinobi

builds that are good and won’t turn me into a " taunt bot " and a " heal bot " so to speak.Any suggestions?

Sadly, the game as it is + the lump of lazyass people out there make it impossible for you to avoid being “botlike” and at the same time, avoid going through generic types of classes

Technically, many builds are viable but they would always prefer the most efficient and most effective, thus creating a standard where only Fletcher 3s and W3 Ele3 Warlocks are highly acceptable in grinds.

The only real way to avoid generic class builds and at the same time, have fun is to find a dedicated group of people who would accompany you through the thick and thin of what’s ahead of you on a non-generic class.

Chaplains seem like a fun class. (i just got my cleric to chaplain.)
this is an auto-attacker build, with a healthy side of support. it will level pretty slow as a cleric / priest, but as your blessing goes up, so does your damage. using things like Sacrament and Cafrisun will multiply the number of times Blessing triggers on each hit. Once you hit Chaplain, start to keep Aspergillum up, and that high int will suddenly make your damage skyrocket.

i found that i didn’t use my spells offensively very often, but i’ll confess that i built up as a Str build, and burnt a leftover Stat reset potion when i hit chaplain. if/when you do use spells as attacks, remember that ground tiles don’t hit flying mobs, and bosses don’t count as flying mobs no matter what they look like.

essentially after Chaplain, the build is mostly “done”, and anything you add to it is a bonus, to whatever flavor you like.

Cler1 > Priest 1,2,3 > Chaplain > ?? > ?? ; Int/Con/Spr 4:1:1

must haves: max blessing and aspersion.

suggested choices for the final 2 ranks…
–cleric / plague doctor: if you take all the buffs from priest, and Deploy Capella as chaplain, you can make a strong support build out of this as well, without losing out on your soloing ability. PD adds a lot to both support and solo ability.
–druid: for the fun druid stuff… lots of DPS stuff i’m told ?
–krivis: high int will give that lightning a big punch, and there are some nice buffs.
–pardoner: if you invested in all those buffs as priest, why not take advantage and earn money off them now?
–whatever else you like. lol

I hate to say it, but people will just expect me to be a full support with that build :frowning:

Hmm… I myself prefer DoT Type classes (wugu) or very lazy attacking classes (pyro) where you summon something and let the skill do it’s work. If you wanna put in the work, W>P>P>L>P>L>Featherfoot Is a great build. I’m only level 226 but I can honestly say it’s very fun. Your very supportive with linker and OP at soloing. It’s also not so generic. Other fun builds I’ve ran so far have been Archer c2> Sapper c2>Scout>Falc>Musket. Sapper is fun because like pyro you set the skills and just run mobs into them for great dps.

They are just not very bright.

In my levelling experience (I’m lvl 270), the most useful cleric to level with is Cl1-Pri3-Monk3 (or Cl2-Pri2-Monk3), because he has the essential Priest kit for support, while being able to destroy packs with Energy Blast. Good high level parties dont need much heal tbh. I sometimes meet monks who don’t energyblast while levelling. They make me sad.

As for your current build - don’t drop it, give it some time, if you go Sw1-Pelt1-Barb3-Doppel2 - you would be VERY welcome a high level PvE, because you will have the ability to hold weapons in two hands and Swashbuckle -> Warcry -> Cyclone packs to death, believe me, it is very effective. Just don’t go 2H sword. Also, Double Pay Earn will make you filthy rich -> spend money on attribs and only the blind fools will not see your dmg. Just note it’s purely a PvE build tho.

As for paladin… truth be told, it’s dmg is not that great. Paladin is a support class. If you want to dish out noticeable dmg as a cleric - go monk.

Sigh

Why are you concerned about what people tell you during dungeons?
Honestly, had people complaining about my Paladin not having Priest. Do I care? No! I have a good laugh about it and keep enjoying my game.

Anyways, what I can suggest as a Paladin would be

ClericC1>KrivisC1>KrivisC2>PaladinC1>PaladinC2>PaladinC3>KrivisC3
Here’s the guide on this build:
http://www.tosbase.com/tools/skill-simulator/build/z1xxorcl7c/

Paladins are a good support-dps class and they are fun to play in dungeons.

People should never get to you with this kind of garbage though, if you enjoy a class you play the class however you want to.

I picked my class based entirely on their outfit…

I actually wanted to make an SR, HATE the mount look though haha.

The current mounts are a bit… goofy looking. However I’m holding out for when the Red Pandas and Guinea pigs are added.

I beg to disagree! Generic can be fun, it will be like “OH COOL! We have the same class! not to mention, we are 3 people with same build on a “RANDOM” queue! This is so fun!”.

Or this Higest dps class just curious

Well, because people are people if you go any swordie or cleric class you’re going to be shafted into the heal or taunt role by some. The best thing you can do is just ignore their shit.

That said if you have good ping and are looking for a build that stands out you could try wiz>pyro>linker>thauma2>chrono2 offhand dagger build. The plus side is your buffs are party wide so you support your party while doing your own thing.

I think I just find all the mage builds boring. I am interested STRONGLY in the following

Rogue
Fencer

Fencers are just bad atm and Rogues are mainly for PvP.

Tho, there are shotgun builds that use Rogue-Ranger-Falconer combo for high dmg to a pack. There is a guide somewhere on a forum. Should be fun.

Oops, I thought my sarcasm was obvious enough lol

Fencer is pretty lacklustre on both PVE and PVP with the current content.
Rogue is … well, you might want to check out my Scout C3 build on the Archer section, it has at least a Rogue C1 on the build.

i’m not gonna try and say different… but at the same time, you can actually pull it off, and still be able to solo effectively. (at least i’ve been able to solo well enough up to 130.) then again… if you were born a cleric, half the people are going to expect you to be FS no matter what.

i’ve got a low-level version of that; Wiz > Py > Linker… link, hang, then drop a burning ground and/or fireball on it. even in the 50 instanced dungeon, she was just vaporizing groups by herself. did one run with 2 linkers built like that; just burn and repeat, alternating. never seen the first half of the dungeon go away so fast!

amen this! give us some -cute- mounts, not the deranged furby, and the redneck furby.

Yeah its not a bad build but expect dps to DROP if your in a pt with melee players. Hitting fireballs kills your damage. Good to go linker c2 so your not totally useless in those type of parties.

I play a dps/support int cleric which is pretty… off the wall, so I guess I’ll give you my class order.
Cleric - Cleric2 - Bokor - Sadhu - Bokor2 - Druid - Meme Doctor

I like it, it’s alot of fun for me personally. I steal agro from the dps in siau missions from time to time at lv.18x. But this build is alot better for bossing/1v1 and… not so great versus high-density mobbing until Druid and PD.
Also beware the flying enemies, (most, or atleast my) int cleric’s worst nightmare.

But really, don’t bother caring about the stuff players say to you.
And always remember: if you play a cleric, you’re the one who says who lives and who dies.
…Muhuhahahaha :smiling_imp:

sudden mental image of you dying your PD dress Blue… lol.

Doesn’t even have Plague Doctor. I fail to see what’s good about Krivis3? That’s considerably lesser DPS than a Plague Doctor route and support as well.

My INT Paladin’s C1-K2-P3-PD1 though.
