LF> "Fun", non generic class

You know why? Because I don’t care about it. You wanna be super powerful and all, do it, don’t annoy other people about it though. I am also not an “INT” Paladin. It’s a hybrid build.

sigh

Why do people give their opinion about stuff even when not asked?
Oh yeah, the internet… And that’s why this thread was created.

“I’m gonna try [this build]. It sounds like it might be fun. Maybe it’ll be a total flop, but who knows.”

“What?? You’re not a [standard cookie cutter build]?? YOU HAVE TO DO [standard cookie cutter build] WHILE YOU STILL CAN!! REROLL NOW AND SAVE YOURSELF! You can’t possibly have any fun with that build, because it hasn’t been proven to work already!”

– paraphrasing actual conversations i’ve had many times before.

You just gave me some hope for my monk
(C2>Diev2>Monk3 build)

Unfortunately at 213 the damage output vs mob health is in such a steep decline that everything feels like a chore… and I haven’t logged the char in many days.

With owls my damage vs a group of mobs is far superior to a priest build, but it still takes so much time compared to lower levels that the whole gameplay changes. The fun of just rolling through content is gone…

really? people actually prefer dps clerics over full support. if you have cleric c2 and can put down heals when neccecary then you do your own thing

Fun build:

Wiz 3, Linker 1, Chrono 3.

Link. Magic Missile. Rollerskates.

Enjoy.

That’s the issue though, in a party ( up to 180ish content ), every party I am in expects me to be the Full Support. I don’t mind dropping a heal when needed, but when all they want me to do is Heal 10.

Basically my issue is the downright REQUIREMENT to get
Cleric 2 or Priest 3 on a Cleric, and Palista 1 on a Warrior, else being unwanted in PvE content. And when you get those, you instantly become " THE healer " or " THE tank ".

@ Moonspring

Not interested in any Wiz 3 builds, sorry but W3 is way too generic for me, Same reason I don’t want to go

Archer1 -> Ranger 3 - Fletch 3
Archer 1 - Q3 ( though this one fits my play style really well )

I want something unique, and something that is GOOD. It doesn’t have to be the best, but I don’t like doing " fun builds" that turn out to be 1/4th as effective as a " standard " build. Anyone who has played RO, a good example of this would be Auto Attack Scholar. Fun build, can work, but is bad compared to any standard scholar build. An example of what I like is something like Caster Stalker, or Dagger Stalker. Not the best build for stalker, but it still is comparable.

Woah there, you sound mad. Still failin’ to see what Krivis3 offers better over Plague Doctor?

Krivis3 (especially when paired with Paladin3) is already proven bad, but continue.

Its like, clerics need c2 cleric because your role is a semi healer or partial healer, just bcuz u have 1 circle of cleric automatically makes u a percentage of a healer, depending on your build you can be 5% healer 95% DPS. because of that, you are expexcted to heal, your are however NOT fully expected to support, thats just a bonus. so, with that said, heal 5 is terrible, it can hold a strong party though, heal 10 is much better. nobody really launches at your thought for not going c2 cleric, as long as you cna keep the party alive (except other clerics, other clerics will shit on you if you dont go c2 cleric lol). but unfortunately, its kind of impossible to keep a party going with only heal lvl 5, which is why heal 10 is basically a requirement.

now for pelt, swordsmen arent even all supposed to be tanks lol, a swordman should be able to build what he wants, im sure imc ddidnt make all swordsmen tanks, its just the players want a tank, so all swordsmen now have to take pelt.

and for the lables ( THE healer" , “THE tank”) just ignore those, your only called the healer bcuz u have a heal, if you go a dps cleric you can do some amazing dmg but still be labeled the healer bcuz u can heal.

I want to be an Oracle at one point because the costume is so nice.

If you don’t want to be an taunt/heal bot then you will have to drop both swordmans and cleric from your list.

As they are wanted solely based on taunt/heal.

Now let’s see, you have Archer and Wizard left. Luckily both are DPS classes, you have the following good choices.

Archer
AA Turret Build (Archer C2 > Quarrel Shooter C3)

  • Kneeling shot + Running shot = Fast auto attack

Wugushi Build (Archer C1 > QS C3 > Wugushi C2/3)

  • Poison based DOT build = MOAR DOTS!

Scout builds (not sure how to build it, gotta ask other people around in the forums)

Wizard
Dung/Grind support DPS (Wiz C1 > Cryomancer C3 > Chrono C3)

  • Frost Tree
  • Quicken
  • Haste
  • Pass
  • Lots of parties will love you

Sorc DPS Support Builds (Varies, Needa check with others)

  • Big Temple Shooter following you around
  • You love slotting cards into things

Other Sorc Builds (Varies, Needa check with others)

  • Warlock
  • Linker DPS Support
  • Elementalist DPS builds

Hopes this help you to play an efficient class and have the most fun of the game.

I suggest build how you want to play and ignore others. You don’t have to play how everyone else plays.

Nobody sounds anything over the internet genius. :3
It’s just you reading the text that is.

It is unique, however. Wizard 3 is rarely coupled with anything other then Elemental or Rune. And those two are the only common or uncommon builds that use it, at all.

If you truly want to have a unique build then you must first come to understand how builds work, what the synergy between abilities is, and how one build differs from another. I find that sentiment lacking in your request.

Truth be told, from your post it sounds like you want a ‘‘unique, but still cookie cutter build’’-

Truly unique builds are not defined by being Opposite of Standard. They are defined by redefining the scale.

it’s this kind of garbage that we’re trying to get away from.

i play a DPS melee chaplain. sure i can heal (and as a high-Int build, they’re actually quite strong) but healing is really just a nice bonus for the build i want. i throw heals and buffs as i need them, and obviously this will also help the party out, but it isn’t why i do it.

and so far, i haven’t had any complaints about it.

again, “efficient” does not automatically equate to “fun” for everyone.

Did you know that once I saw a poor guy, playing a C1 Wiz, C1 Pyro, C1 Cryo and C1 Alchemist.

I actually felt sad for that guy, as his skills is basically flying all around the place and his build is basically screwed and without circle resets and stuff, he basically just needs to reroll.

This game is harsh, I think you know if you played it long enough. I rather not have the OP going “■■■■, I shouldn’t have done it this way” and then rage about rerolling all over again.

Efficient builds can be fun, It just needs to suite your playstyle. Also at higher levels, Chaplains are wanted to heal more than DPS and auto attacks sucks at higher lvls that’s why Wiz and Archers are good at higher levels.

For the Pelt thing, I don’t think you actually need to BE THE TANK with Pelt1 though. I have a swordsman friend who’s building DPS with a Pelt1 just for the luring utility of swashbuckling. Maybe just don’t think of it as a tank skill but more of like “oh why would I run to all the mobs when I can just call them to me and kill them here?”

I think people just ask you to taunt because you have the best luring capacity out of the whole team. Like when I’m on my Necro (which only has 12k HP at lv203), I often take the role of a pelt when doing dungeons just because I have the best ability to gather up mobs with my magic missiles and my links.
