Let's discuss some swordsman builds

Highlander is more of a Debuff class Crown redusces INT and Spirit, Scull Swing reduces Defense

I’ve been giving this some thought ever since i saw the simulator.
The class i’m aspiring to is the centurion and the wedge formation catches my eye a lot since it says that adds up the attack of the party to a selected attacker in the formation, that being said does that mean that the buffs you use as a swordsman as well as others you receive to increase your own attack or that of the party do stack aswell? i can’t help but notice that you could potentially do some crazy damage if you made a glass cannon and assigned a tank your buffs.
Could be or couldn’t be but in either case i’m pretty torn on what path should i take before i get there.

In that case why barbarian class in skill simulator at the tosbase.com has a blue icon. It is definitely not a defensive class. Mistake?

Anyway, thanks with tip about icon color, didn’t know about that.

Hey guys! I need help with my hoplite-centurion build. Can you give me an opinion about this?

Rank 1: Swordsman
Rank 2: Peltasta (for swashbuckling skill to draw enemy aggro)
Rank 3: Hoplite
Rank 4: Hoplite (Long stride is <3 <3)
Rank 5: Hoplite
Rank 6: Centurion

Is synchro-thrusting a good skill?
I was also thinking of a Hoplite-Squire build.

Synchro-thrusting is good, if you learn the attribute you can raise crit chance for 5 seconds every time you counter successfully

Does centurion apply Hoplite’s crit buffs to their party members under formation, that’s the important question for your build.
Nobody knows yet at this stage

Thanks for the answer. I guess I will add room for synchro-thrusting.

you need to invest on Pierce for optimum Hoplite build

3 hit on Large monsters

if the ToSG info is still correct, once atribute upgraded Pierce will deal additinal 4 hits on Boss type monsters.

hence

#7 PIERCE HITS

on large boss monsters

Tbh I don’t really know, never played the game and I don’t know how to tell when a skill is AOE vs Single Target by looking at the simulator + the little video examples use only one mob.

I’d still take Stabbing over Pierce any day.
Stabbing is very good for grinding from what I see on streams. Round a bunch up and stab to win.
Same with bosses as well, position yourself after a big boss attack for a long stabbing. The damage output from a full stabbing outweighs any other Hoplite skills, it’s the main source of damage output for Hoplites right now.

You guys should really watch some streams on Twitch to see these skills in actual play, the videos in the skill simulator tells very little and is misleading at times (eg. Highlander’s Cross Guard video…/facepalm)

Okay, I guess I’ll consider what you said, too. Swash Buckling… then staaaab stab stab staab!

yes stabbing seems better for mobs.

but on the other hand I view skill that have faster animation better. in boss fight in the videos most of the time you’ll be dodging attacks. hence hit and run. dealing 7 hits instantly in 1 sec seems more important in those situation. besides in CBT3 Pierce has faster CD than Stabbing.

I’ll invest in both then? Huwaaah… I invested almost equally on both skills in an edited build.

things can still change for OBT anyways,

but since iCBT is following korean CBT3, info in the fansites would still be somewhat relevant

you can test out which skill works best in CBT though and present to the community your opinion

Will I be able to reset my skill builds in cbt?

during hoplite circle 1 you can already feel which skill would be better since both skills are availabel to you already

Just be warned that Hoplite is a very PVE class, it has no cc skills (stuns, slows, etc.) so it won’t do well by itself in PVP.
Swordsman classes that are better for PVP include Peltasta (Umbo blow can stun with attribute), Barbarian (Giant Swing of love), Rodelero (heaps of cc), Corsair (hook + pull), Doppelsoldner (Punish)

Aaaww… and I do like to pvp. I’ll try it or I’ll make another character than can optimized for pvp. Thanks! Taking note of this.

That leaves him no other option than to go full DPS then tho.
He wanted the ability to also take a hit or two.
That’s the only way to do it.

Right off the bat gonna be going for a tanky squire build. If the squire arrest skill can be used in PvP I might even sacrifice another squire skill for it.

R1:Swordsman
R2:Peltasta
R3:Peltasta
R4:Peltasta
R5:Squire
