Tree of Savior Forum

Let's discuss our experiences regarding latency?

I believe one of the major concerns in this International CBT is to test their Server capability. How about we report our experiences related to ping/latency in this CBT, just in case.

Here is mine!
Location: Brazil.
Report: The game was completely playable and enjoyable. Delay was almost imperceptible to my eyes. I believe there is some kind of small delay, but comparing to games already on the market that are hosted somewhere not in my country Tree of Savior did GREAT. On some specific situations I lagged a lot:

  1. When I tried to stream or multiple persons were using my local internet, but those are problems related to my cheap internet connection.
  2. At some point after they gave those 4000 keys server lagged a lot, but they fixed it soon.
I suggest that, for the next CBT, they implement a Ping/Latency checker. Similar to the FPS one that we already have.

If you have more experience than me in those technical stuff and have tips to add to this topic, please feel free to it.

Connection speed and latency are unrelated. What matters is the path your signal takes to the servers.

The base lag was unnoticeable for me. However, when the channels got crowded, it went from 0 to 1000% in a flash. Suddenly all critical system just broke down, nothing worked and you were kicked from the server after a bit.

I’m thinking this was meant as a stress test among other things, but I surely hope we will get better scaling servers later on.

Oh, speed is not relevant… I see… But what do you mean by 0 to 1000%?

The game isn’t optimized yet…so its hard to really tell what’s going on but hopefully you don’t get lag in release

Meaning one second there is no lag, then suddenly it lags so bad you can’t do anything. There wasn’t a gradual transition for me most of the time.
