Tree of Savior Forum

Less than 3000 players?

i try to return to this game after 2 month without play but now i notice that the poppulation its less and also i cant find this game on the top 100 of steam games. is the first time that tree of savior have less than 3000 players ?

Not surprising, the new content of rank 9 has worn off for most people. So has the reset event.

The next bigger event, likely the class reworks with resets, will have the numbers go back up.

im waithing for the gvg patch but also this game boring me because im full solmik and i have nothing to do i dont care to make others chars and the masinios weapon are useless for me.

Yeah a lot of guilds are on the deader side because they were GvG based. I’m glad to be in one a bit more casual and focused on helping each other gear up, and guild events. Are you only making/focusing on one character?

IMC got what they deserve

and its not the worst number, it reached 1.6k avg player by nov 2017

The game is almost dead because it takes them a year to bring any significant updates. Ktos gets content updates almost every 2 weeks, and we get a fraction of what they get 3 months later.

People are tired of waiting and they don’t seem to understand that. There’s only 2 things to do in game now, reach max level and the raid. Neitehr are really challenging and theres no real reason to even keep upgrading gear because there’s no where to use it. Tbl is dead as well, the first session is always bugged and you wont get a match. The later session you get to play the same people 5 matches in a row.

What i’m gonna start doing is logging in once a month to get that returning player rank reset. Try outa build for a few days log back out and wait a month.

Funnily they said that they’d go ā€œfasterā€ with the updates instead of aiming for the former ā€œone/two big updates a yearā€. Yet they haven’t even brought here a lot of contents that were released a while ago on kTOS.
4 months ago they talked about the ā€œlast rank rollbackā€ system too, but it’s taking them forever to add it here. Why do they talk about/announce things 4 months in advance ? To hype people so they get even more disappointed/tired of waiting ? I don’t really understand this way of doing.
Anyway the main issue will always be that no matter what they add, once it’s cleared you don’t have much to do.

you could always do other stuff other than get the best gear in game and sit bored with your great gear, there’s alot more in this game than boring stuff like that

As a player who is always leaving the game then returning on and off, it’s really misleading to read the news page filled with information of content dated months ago only to login and realize that none of it is actually in game. The international and Korean versions of the game are under the same publisher but there’s so much discrepancy between the two it’s almost like they’re not. It’s discouraging for returning players to see how little change we get when the Korean version of the game gets new content every 2-3 weeks.

I personally am waiting for them to give us a real Archer rebalance, and not that pathetic 3 class only rework they call ā€˜intense’ because I’ve already lost interest in the game and have little hope that it’ll survive that long.

I also can’t believe the game is already almost 2 years old and we still have trade restrictions. Looks like they’ve learned nothing after all this time.

IMC make some fun and worthy but not OP/Broken active player events!

2 years old and we still need intense balance uptades, not exactly reassuring

They’re not.
Korean version has IMC as a developing team and Nexon as a publisher, the international version has IMC both as the devs and the publisher. I suppose Nexon pushes them to work faster and release new things more often, while with iTOS since they have nobody to ā€œpressureā€ them they can do it when they ā€œhave the timeā€ or whenever they want to.

Well, at first players couldn’t even trade at all without a Token… IMC just love restrictions.

No, this is not the first, because ToS doesn’t have less than 3000 players.

Look at correct data:

image

CCU = Players playing at the same time. No content update = people stay logged for less hours a day after the hype dies. This is the amount of players that logs at the same time of the day, from all different timezones.

Population/Players in 2 weeks/Audience = Players actually logging on and doing their stuff and logging off, not necessarily at the same time. This is the amount of players ToS have.

Sure, people are playing less but if ToS actually had only 3000 players, CCU would be like, 300? over all servers, around 30-50 players online per server.

So, try to use correct data please, thanks.

Taking the bait:
I actually only spent money on founders and bought TP once, I don’t agree with the standardized pricing because USD value in other countries.

I accept the game has flaws, I just said it, people stay logged less hours a day in when there’s lack of new content. Even most patient players are taking breaks/getting tired.

But that doesn’t change what CCU and Audience are.

Now, let’s be honest here:
Who cares about a forum troll that only gets liked by other forum trolls and doesn’t play the game?

Maybe you just want everything and everyone that doesn’t do or follow what you want to die :woman_shrugging:

Yet again, 2 weeks total won’t help you to find a party/won’t make the market less dead.

It’s cool that we have a bunch of guys logging for a few hours every 2 weeks, but it hardly matters. There is a reason why CCU is used more often than 2 weeks avg. (Which I’m yet to see outside steam actually.)

We could also count total owners (OH MY GOD, 2.300.000 OWNERS, ZE GAEM EZ NOT DED!!!11), but there is just … no point in it.

That’s why people often casually refer to CCU as ā€œTotal playersā€.

Using correct wording, this game has less than 2k players (average) playing at the same time splitted between 6 servers some of which share the dungeon queue.

there’s really not, been playing since launch there’s not much else to do

Yeah @atari. You got the point, ā€œthe game has only 3000 playersā€ would mean the market would be far more dead with 5 or less pages and far lower CCU.

This is what I’m nitpicking about and you know it pretty well. And there’s a reason for that: Underestimation of population, doom posting and forum trolls.

Casual definition works for forums where people doesn’t make zillions memes out of the casual definitions, make it far worse and doom post with it. You know it pretty well.

Also, a good detail that can be measured with the right data: Peak hours.

Nothing can be done about the market. But if you know the difference between Total Players and CCU and know how CCU works then you might ask yourself:

ā€œSo, if there are few players playing at the same time, how can I find more players?ā€

Around 12-13 up to 18-21 ish. (GMT+0).
So, around 7-8 am up to 1-4 pm. (EST / NA server time).

This might be inaccurate since it considers all servers and not just the one you play.

Population has declined, if you complain ā€œso I should adjust my time to play now?ā€, yeah, deal with it, I’m giving an advance, follow if you want.

You know, 40k login for 2 weeks is averaged at 2.8k avg login per day.
and daily CCU from your cool steamspy chart link shows 1800-2800 ccu.

ik ts didnt mention if it is daily or per two weeks on first post, but ik you understand what he says

You don’t take an avg of login per day because that’s not how it works.

If a player logins in A day, the same player is most likely to login on the B,C,D,E etc as well, especially if we consider the daily nature of ToS.

For comparing avg gameplay values you can use hours played in 2 weeks x players in 2 weeks to find avg hours:
image

We can’t get a chart though (behind paywall).

The CCU is measured daily there (you can get hourly data too in charts). Steamcharts has hourly + 30-day average but people mainly looks at the 30-day average and current measurment (an hour ago).

It should be accurate for both because they use the same sources.

Yeah. I understand what he says but most people don’t and that’s why I’m telling you:

ToS has 40k unique players as of the last 2 weeks.
ToS has a CCU (players playing at the same time) currently at an avg of 2126 (with steamchart data, as of the time I’m writing this).

They’re different measurements.

Now, let me ask:

  1. Are you complaining the game is dead because it has 40k players?
  2. Are you complaining the game is dead because it has around 2k players playing at the same time through the day?
  3. Are you complaining the game is dead because you’re logging in outside of peak hours?
  4. Are you complaining the game is dead because everyone who needed to do dg300 already leveled their characters?
  5. Are you complaining the game is dead because most people are just doing their most profitable dailies and events then logging off?

There’s various point of views of the same complaint and for the same answers.

I’m just asking you to make it clear so you don’t accidentally confuses others nor, in some cases, ā€œaccidentallyā€ starts doom posting ā€œded game, 2k players, I’ll play Tree of Forumsā€.

dude, are you okay?
im just reminding ppl here that the unit that you use and the ts use are totally different. you can say whatever but

oh also lemme ask. did i complain the game is dead? >.<
