Leaving the game already

So I played a couple hours and I didn’t find myself enjoying it at all. I liked the first hour and then it all went downhill.

I started with a Int/Spr Cleric, got to only level 26.

Here are a couple things I dislike.

  1. Questing is really boring to me. Leveling your first levels and reaching high enough level to do dungeons and everything else should be fun but I find it painful because it’s so bland and it doesn’t feel very rewarding. This is game breaking when the game only offers leveling through questing. Apparently you can grind but it takes a lot longer because I got absolutely no exp from killing mobs and it took me heck of a long time compared to other classes.

  2. You can not see what NPCs have quests for you so you might be like me who just ran past all NPCs and only did the main quest line forgetting about all the side quests. This forced me to go all the way back to the start and redo everything. Whilst doing this I found it really boring to explore and find the npcs. If you’re gonna be going for the “Explore the game” type of thing you should actaully offer cool things for exploring and make the game look a lot more interesting.

  3. Combat is really boring. This is mostly because spell animations are overly simple and ugly. It’s embarassing to me that even Ragnarok has cooler and better spell animations.

  4. Grinding is also boring because of the combat being boring.

  5. To many bugs and issues for a game that is suppose to be in launch.

I could go on about more things but there’s no point because I find myself just saying everything is boring. To sum it all up I am dissapointed and the game feels very rushed. I know that I didn’t play it much and starting as a Int/Spr Cleric was probably not the best idea but this doesn’t matter, if a game is good then all the classes are fun to play. Nothing should be boring and it definitely should not be boring after playing only two hours.

I’m really sad about this because I love Ragnarok and it’s weird how I found myself enjoying Ragnarok so much more than this game or maybe it just is that I have gotten tired of games like this and outgrown them. I just expect better and have higher expecations from games in 2016. This game feels like it was made 2006 or earlier. Maybe this game will get better in time but for now it’s not very good.

This is just my opinion though and I wont say much more. Thankfully I have Maple Story and Black Desert which I love dearly so I do have other games to play and I can’t wait to play Overwatch which is the next game on my hype list!

Thanks for reading guys!

ill be the first to like this because you told it like you seen it… to each his own right? this game wasnt for you… the obvious blandness you couldnt look pass. you choose the obvious red pill… you want be neo when this game forces you into the blue pill… but thats just what you like right? there really isnt a single reason why someone should downvote you… but if you quit this game, you wont be here to read this right?/ so go ■■■■ yourself.

Same in RO or other games your only lvl 26 right ? soo don’t expect much…
i’ve seen some R7 skills which is pretty cool…

But other than, that yeah “as of now the game sucks big time”

But if the updates got it right it might be a game changer…Soo try to drop by sometime :confounded:

Good bye!

I played Ragnarok a good while and I feel like this is a replacement. I’m at level 29 and grinding between quests, this game isn’t designed to be quest only. You do have to grind and at times you will find yourself at a grind wall. That’s how these games are.

This game simply isn’t for you. Fair well.

Rodian,

Don’t give up yet. Try something else for me first.

I started an INT/SPR cleric for my first character also. By the time I got to level 15 I was done. Being support I had little to no offensive options and it got boring soloing very quickly. Support builds are meant for groups and should really not be questing alone. A bit frustrated I took a breather and decided I needed to learn the game basics with an easier class(I have not played CBT). I created a warrior and went DPS. Started learning the game more and all the depth it has to offer, used my offensive skills to start chaining mobs, and voila was having fun. I will go back to my support cleric later, but I know I need to learn the ins/outs of the game more before I dive into that build again. Cleric offensive skills don’t really show up until later on.

Your entitled to your opinion on the game. The overcrowding and lag is frustrating a lot of people, but you know yourself better than any one else:
Are you really done with ToS, or are you just frustrated?

To me your points 1 & 2 conflict. If the quest system was a hub it would make it more boring. There are a lot of little secret quests everywhere which require you to look and interact with your environment. The quest stories are not award winning for their depth or writing, but they are far from the worst out there in MMOs. I’ve played many an MMO where the quest text is superfluous at best and only an assisted grind. Try again with another class and take it slower and enjoy the ride. Who knows, you might like it?

Point 3: The anims are meant to be simple. As you progress in levels your skills will be chaining into each other into a rotation of 10-20 skills. At that point pretty animations are more of a hindrance than a help(Anim cancelling).
Wait it out, this game has almost 300 levels and your just into the first 10% of them.

Point 4: A change of class will do wonders, try warrior or archer.

Point 5: You must be new here (j/k  ). MMO releases are notorious for being glitchy, server overload multiplies these exponentially creating a perfect storm of bad game experience. Wait it out. It took a week for WoW to be playable at their first launch back in the day.

Sleep on it. Play another class. See if things change. If they don’t then you can walk away confident ToS is not for you. Maybe the more AA Titles like BDO are more your speed, just be sure before walking away from your Founders Pack investment.

Regret is a terrible thing

Have fun!

I smell some 15yo who is experienced with gaming. Go away and leave this moe game for adults who enjoyed their Ragnarok Online time in their teens. Or hakuna your tatas and enjoy game with another class if you wont be able to find party, which gives you mu h more xp than solo for grinding.

i was having fun with questing and stuff the combat seemed fun for me too u shud try the mellee classes.

i have seen ALOT worser games

if u want to look for sidequests simply talk to every npc there aren’t that many in every area there is never any sidequest in the main town tough.

and what’s with people who compare it to ragnarok yes i know its a advertised as a spiritual succesor but TOS is its own game its not ragnarok

good bye, m8 :comet:

I can feel you man. Right now there isn’t a single MMORPG on the market that is worth investing much time into. Same goes for ToS, unless you’re a big fanboy of the game, you will get bored of the repetetive grind and unchallenging content.

This game is not for everyone. This is something that must be understood as soon as possible.

I like grinding. And I love this game and the slow progression. Im not the hardcore player, even though I invest a lot of time in this game, and I dont mind the slow level up. Playing the int/spr cleric as well and cant wait to reach the first dungeon :3 Dont mind if it takes many hours to reach 40… Im planning to stick to this game for long months, playing a few hours weekly. The game should relax you, unwimd whild brainlessly killing mobs. If ypu treat it as a chore, ToS isnt for you. Goodbye.

Bye.

I don’t know what kind of experience you’re expecting from mobs, 3 level ups per mob?

I’m level 26/6, and I still have all my xp cards left to use, which means that I gained all my levels through pure grinding, while doing quests, as well. (Love the fact that ToS allows you to get that boost of experience when YOU want it, rather than right away upon completing a quest)

I could’ve been much higher if I just rushed the content, since I know all of it up to like, level 140. However, since it’s my solo character that I’m playing right now, I’m enjoying the side stuff. (Collections, getting some materials that I know I’ll need later and so on)

But yeah, you can pure grind if you wanted to and it’s not slow experience at all, it’s just slow compared to poping experience cards.

see you +1 fps.

He just seems like the game is boring to him, period.
Can’t fix that, let him leave.

BYE sure we don’t miss you

Also, don’t play int/spr full support, it’s too slow (Unless you’re Krivis). I played a full support priest spr/int in iCBT 1 and it was exhausting, full supports need a party.

In iCBT 2, I played a battle priest. Almost full strength, with addition of blessing (and maxing the attributes for it early) and everything was a breeze and super fun, then I went into paladin and it became even better with the addition of an offensive physical ability, Smite. Then I got into Monk and it got even more fun, BUT since it was a cbt, I started new characters upon reaching monk and playing it a little bit, because I wanted to test other options.

However, if basic combat of ToS is bad for you, then you should stop playing probably. I love the basic combat of the game, so everything is enjoyable for me, from grinding to questing.

As for the skills looking “bad”, they’re not bad, they just aren’t flashy. (There are exceptions, of course)

If you want more exciting spells, then go for a wizard maybe. Swordsman classes don’t have flashy skills either until later on, rather they look more realistic and more like empowered normal attacks, coming from different angles.

What I mean by this is that you won’t have a swordsman imbuing his weapon with lightning and then firing off lightning strike from his sword and stuff like that. Melee skills are more down-to-earth realistic attacks.

Later on, there are some cooler things, like Cyclone (spin2win) and similar stuff, but from what I’ve seen so far, they keep it simple ,which I like. If every skill was cool and flashy, well…wouldn’t that make every skill just normal?

MAYBE they are saving the really cool and flashy stuff for the rank 9 classes or something, well…I’m hoping they are, because all these plain melee attacks would be such a nice build up for something extremely cool, which is way more mind blowing than having every skill be flashy in my opinion.

he picked the worst class for early game.
didnt do ■■■■ research and starts crying :joy:
then rage quit. LOL. no one will miss you.
you just dont know how to read the tons of guides available.

gives the game 1 day and quits

K. Cya later buddy.
