Nice! Happy to see the improvements.
Thanks for the info thingy @TOSTeam
sad am not that good with the techy stuff
@STAFF_Ines Give my thanks to everyone < you included of course xD
sorry but

my brain hurts.
anyway, ty guys for the info, I hope those changes improve the fps
Very very thanks IMC :3 and thanks GM for let us know it, but its implement right now or will be on a later patch?
Not amused unless I’m shown fullparty GvG in at least 10 FPS stable. At the very least.
Currently it’d 1-2 FPS GvG, and 7-12 in 5v5 TBL.
Particle reduction, it’s almost identical to the same ‘optimization’ they did (and removed) months ago…meaning there will be improvement in towns but no effect on GvG or world bossing.
We shall wait for it to actually land and see.
Well tbh that one was not bad, it granted some fps, even though not much.
Hope it will be better now, but I don’t really expect anything.
With my lack of technical skills. I’m just go with the obvious stuff from the graph and say it’s to fix the micro stutters and most importantly that really big stutter every couple seconds. You’ill notice it when you walk around a high FPS zone. Rest is over my head.
And I’m going to say it’s not implemented since I’m still noticing it in game.
Either way… It’s great that we’re seeing more optimization work. I wasn’t sure if we were getting more.
This is obviously fantastic, it’s great to hear something and see progress. Although I don’t want to be overly negative, we should have seen something weeks, perhaps months ago. Either way, this is a step in the right direction keep it up.
FPS was my issue with this game - fix it and it’ll be superb
Why don’t you implement it in the server side?
▲ UPDATE_QUEST_LOOP: The time required to check quests in-game. While most are checked server-side, some are being checked by the client. There will be less lag the less time this takes.
This ^ will open more space for more exploits, you people still didn’t learnt your lesson?
Nothing handled by client-side is secure.
We dont care about lag, we care about FPS drop.
Just make a “ultra low” mode who the characters look like a stick man and raise the fps … i will use, dont care about art on pvp/wb
Good to hear that you guys are working on improving performance. it’s one of the main issues for most players. I even think that a lot of players that have quit might come back if overal FPS is improved.
I don’t see why the server can’t just log the quest completion. And track any exploits that way. It does it already with the adventurers log. So it’s kind of pointless to screw the client over.
It’s worded poorly. What they meant by that is to fix the lag that you have when pick up item while having a lot of quests available. That cause the client to stutter because it need to check and update the visual progress of quests.
I saw the same thing in MapleStory, it’s funny that TOS has the same problem.
yeah …they still doing internal testing it seems
Suck it non-believers.
That is not the issue, i don’t know if you remember the exploit from iCBT2 but there was one that you just macro a LUA script to complete a quest and get Lv9 cards reward and the same thing for multiple class (even outside of the tree, lots of wiz/clerics around).
Ah alright, i do hope so, because when i kill multiple enemies the client freeze for around 15 seconds when the qitems are gathering. Thanks for the clarification.
