Lack of trading system IS CRIPPLING THE GAME

how aware are you of the crippled trading economy exactly? sure you cant trade much in the game based on just the restrictions to free trading, but take into account that items have potential that depletes when trades… find that rare item you get to sell it free and clear… but damn a few weeks or months of that item existing and its swapped hands 4x… well the next time its bought… that buyer cannot resell that item ever… the cripple is legit. i dont mind it though… keeps rares rare…

If they only make one change in this thread, please let it be this.

We need to hype this topic :3

Yeah we do !!!

It was quite shocking to me that trading between two players was basically removed untill you pay 36$ (for both players). This is ridiculous. To think that ToS was a lot better in cbt state… And not only trading - servers were better, bo trading restrictions, 5 dungeon attempts per day (instead of 2) e.t.c.

IMC is ruining such a great concept with great assets by greed\incompetence\stupidity - name your own.

Hey, to be fair, at least we got a good marketplace system!

Oh wait, we don’t.
Even IF you do pay, there’s basically no existing trading system either way.

At least playing in our “single player experience” if we find some items for other class, we can save in shared storage for an alter!

Oh wait… they had the fantastic idea of sell team storage!!
What’s next IMC? maybe sell hp potions for real money?

The game would have been far better b2p (with no restrictions, of course)

Actually, I find myself agreeing with the fact that it isn’t only player to player trading that’s wonky. The game itself was made with trading in mind, and while having no trade is possible, the game simply wasn’t designed for it and taking it out for only Token users left what is essentially a gaping hole.

Another suggestion would be to have a check-in system similar to DFOs. It was essentially a check screen that revolved around you making a passcode by guiding a 2D goblin into a house, and then hitting whatever direction your next key is in the passcode. You’d have to do this for the first time you wanted to use the Auction House/Trade/Sell items, and then while logged in you wouldn’t have to do it again. It required you to actually see wherever your numbers are in which tent, and what key you’d have to press to get that number: Something that I don’t see much bots actually doing.

I’m not entirely sure of how advanced these bots are, if they can scan the screen then guide the ‘whatever’ to actually input the next number. But it is a strong system that keeps most bots out of the game by what I’ve seen.

That said though, I do hope they release trading for everyone again since while this tactic proves some results, it cripples the game’s mechanics. Though this also means that for the Token to be even remotely as effective, some other effect would have to fill the void on it, perhaps something that makes the gross overpricing actually worth it.

Alternatively they could reduce the price of the tokens and give more users a reason to buy them. They should not be more expensive than a subscription to FFXIV or WoW.

Yeah, but I’m picturing it as if they actually add/change it to actually make it worth while at that price. Realistically, they’ll have to reduce the Token to $8~10, and even then the main reason you would want it is so you can actually trade along with the extra goodies, so at that point you’d have to add something people would actually want it for.

I do honestly believe the game could survive without Player to Player Trade, but there would have to be measures and systems in place first. Honestly the market system needs a heavy revamp, it seems patchworked.

The way things are right now regarding trading will make a a lot of people leave the game, and this game has great potential. I really miss the RO styled vendors from iCBT it was really unique and its not something alot of mmo’s do, its one feature that would make ToS stand out a little.

No trading really cripples the game, it really ruins the experience for me and my bf, we have been waiting for this game for so long its really sad to see this. We can’t help each other out with gear, mats or collections. So the game feels very anti-social at the moment. I can’t with a good conscience recommend it to any of my other friends either.

And i really feel its absurdly unfair to even limit token users to 30 trades per month, it should be unlimited. Aswell as they should allow f2p users to list more items on the action house at a time, right now i can’t really sell anything that isn’t of value. So that rules out selling mats that people might have found useful if they don’t wanna grind it themselves. Random numbers but it could have been something like 15 for free users and 30 for token users.

And the way they are restricting right now wont stop the silver sellers or the bots. There are plenty other ways to hinder them, but i doubt there is a way to get rid of RMT and bots for good. The only thing IMC can do is really implement ways for us to report them when we see them, so they can easy weed them out. Implementing a chat filter would be a start to ease down the spam in the shout channel.

There isn’t really much more i can say that i haven’t said before or that others haven’t said. But we should all do our best to keep these topics alive so that IMC see that we aren’t gonna put up with this, and that we don’t like the state of the game right now. I really hope they listen, they got a great game on their hand they just have to fix a few things first.

At first i thought the trading system, well lack of one wouldn’t bother me. However often I get a drop the people i play with could use, but then we have to be careful is it worth a trade useage?

The other issue is the fact that the whole basis of the game is having a “Team”. and yet you cannot give yourself silver, nor can you give found items unless you pay. Even if you pay you have to really be sure you want to do so so as not to run out of trades or potential.

For a game based around grinding, farming, and crafting the overall limitations tend to see far more detrimental than what they are supposed to solve.

As far as suggestions go, I would say leave the potential loss in I don’t have a problem with that. But if they must make trading token based, they should have the current tokens, as well as a basic token for half the price. Which only enables trading and maybe the 30% exp.

There should also be a shared silver method for teams.

But i assume, based on the lack of communication regarding this issue, as well as the spawn rates unfortunatly the game probably won’t make it to its mature state. I suspect both of these issues will turn off the majority of players, especially once the game becomes F2P.

I think its good to keep potential loss in the game too, since that makes new items more valuable. And i think it would prevent people from hoarding certain items to control the market.

A beginning step in the right direction would be to fix the token. If they gave us unlimited trading with the token, it would (for me atleast) give more intensive to buy it.

There is a huge communication failure at the moment between us and IMC, they aren’t giving us an answer on this issue and i feel its kinda odd that it’s just the trading issue too. Like they think this might be something that would blow over in a few days or something. I don’t think it will, only thing that will happen is that people will eventually leave the game. Myself included, and i say that with a heavy heart. I really want this game to succeed so much.

Since it’s now a weekday and TRADE/MARKETPLACE restrictions are now the main issue of the game, it’s time I bump this and (hopefully) IMC will pay attention to it.

DOWN WITH TRADE/MARKETPLACE RESTRICTIONS!

PS: For white knights who don’t bother reading the topic at all, me and ALL my friends bought #1 founder’s package, so thank you and shut up.

This, I think trading is part of the experience.

We need a free trade system. It’s part of the core of a MMORPG.

It pisses me off that I can’t share/trade silver and gear well enough for my new characters.

Any official comments on this? @STAFF_Ethan @Staff_Julie please don’t ignore this. I hope you are thinking hard enough about this. It’s really crippling the game a lot. Social interactions in a MMO are key…you block those. And EVEN IF WE PAY the system still sucks cause we loose potential…even worse, we loose potential when trading among our own characters…
