KToS General Thread v5.0

Featherfoot is blood magic, it’s basically sangromancer, why complain about the blood part?
You want it green? so later on you complain it look like sadhu? lol
But I admit the animations of all blood skills are boring, it’s even look worse then sadhu skills animation reworks who have cool aoe circle and those chains skill

Featherfoot obviously got the remnant effort only
they focused on kelaunos so much on this cycle
they couldve copy many cool blood magic skills from another game out there like skarlet from MK like blood scythes moves, blood splatters, blood tentacles, blood rain and many others.
not this overused explosion puddle and earthquake that they just change the color
they could spawn bloody tentacles from the puddles, or magic circle, some blood splatters effects, etc etc but no, minimum effort only
blood magic is dope, its vampiric, its red often combines with black, combination of two cool colors
yet tos featherfoot makes blood magic so underrated
they make sangromancy fan out there shame on how they look so lackluster here
is it just destined to be sidekick class like many other classes that cant be big main major class that actually respectable in another game like paladin, druid etc
but yeah what can we hope over indie like developer

New cryo vv effect is quite literally a copypasted wugushi vv.

ok so we got pyro vv, old hail, wugushi vv, what else…
previous one was also reuse old gust
i mean its ok to replicate but make it cooler and more distinct
if its based on frosted pillar why not makes multiple trees instead that almost like a forest of frozen trees? that would be dope and fresh
and yeah that ff skills animation are boring af. i cant tell how many times that earth shattered animation have been reused, that explosion, and that puddles.
even the vv animation is lame compare to the similar one like warlock or crusader
its just boring circle

Considering that they did a bunch of interviews with iToS players last month, I’m quite disappointed by the notes, but maybe the KTEST patch notes may change my mind (or they need more time). Cryomancer’s new Vaivora effect does look quite similar to Pyromancer’s Vaivora effect to be honest, and I’m a little confused on why Featherfoot has butterflies on its Vaivora effect given how edgy the class is with all the earthqua- uh I mean blood pools it spams now.

Also rather surprised no one reacted to this part at the bottom of the notes:

(Google-Translated)
“In the meantime, the update of the new class - reorganized class by series, which has been conducted regularly every month, is only applied until this time, and for a more complete development, a new class is added every two months as before, but the remake is being conducted non-regularly . We are very sorry for not keeping our promises for many updates, but we ask for your understanding as it is a decision for better material, quality and balance rather than focusing on matching the quantity.”

Time to move back the class changes schedule to every two months.

(Cries in only Cleric not getting a new class)

they can always reuse old sadhu master as new cleric class later. or maybe reiterate lite version from another tree like taoistlite, bokorlite idk, or maybe they can pick some random npc like that blue girl and turn it into new class. brilliant and cost effective. as expected from imc.

Wizard patch notes are here guys

theorycrafting / mathing about new cryo stuff

Ice bolt is now 3427.4% SFR,
if we add max attribute + arts that makes it 6,769.115% SFR or just 6,769 SFR rounding down
ice bolt is 2 hits so that makes it
6,769% x 2 = 13,538% SFR per 20 sec
the new vv will double ice bolt hits, so from 2 - > 4.
this should mean 6,769% x 4 = 27,076% SFR per 20 sec (but remember with + 100% final damage from cryo passive)

Both ice blast and ice pike sfr got reduced, ice blast gets gutted the most due to the lost of previous vv effect + significantly lowered sfrs.

snowrolling sfr decreased as well, but damage for snow roll doesnt matter as much
Now the issue is frost pillar SFR got almost cut in half, this is probably due to compensation for the updated passive of 100% final damage on cryo spells

The ice drops also spawn in random locations and its massive aoe spawn location rng. but the damage doesnt get affected by holy flame
theoretically the new cryo vv should double frost pillars damage and also make ice bolt a mid-cd spell thats kinda stronk burst

I’m still trying to understand this new class.
More specifically, its passive attribute:

  1. Basic Attack Speed increased;
  2. It gets a new cool effect;
  3. It now deals damage on a AOE;
  4. Has 2 different stacks on a chance when auto-attacking: [Spark] (self buff) and [Current] (debuff on enemy);
  5. When [Spark]'s stacks reach some number, using a skill won’t trigger its CD as you spend the buff. Meaning you can double cast with it;
  6. When you reach that same number of stacks on [Spark], if all your attack skills are on CD, randomly one of them will be activated. Does that mean one will have its CD reseted or will it have a free cast?
  7. [Current] affects how some skills work, sometimes straight up not working if there are no enemies with [Current].

If I understood correctly, that is a very interesting. It is a Wizard class that wants to use basic attacks to enhance their skills. Interesting indeed. The question now becomes: how much time would you spend AA-ing just to get those stacks, meanwhile you could be using any of your other classes’ skills?

If the AS increase is too small, you may be endangering your DPS because Wizard has no other reason to AA (haven’t been around for the last couple months, don’t know any other big change). In that scenario, you may want to pair it up with classe with big CDs, like Pyromancer or Taoist, or even with Chronomancer, due to Pass having such a great synergy here. I mean, Kelaunos has a skill reset mechanic on its passive! That is OP as hell.

Which leads to the second point: if it is too easy to get stacks, or the AS increase is too big, isn’t that class straight up OP? Pair with Warlock and you will be dealing high damage all of the time just because. Sadly, it seems it doesn’t have casting nor channeling skills, meaning it is locked behind Overload.

About the rest of the patch:

Featherfoot: isn’t that too many times the same skill effect? ‘More damage the less SP it has’? And ‘a SP recover skill built on kit’? back with the synergy wth Warlock? If I remember correctly, Warlock used to spend all its SP too fast. Anyway, I hope the old channeling skills are still on. And it has a Vaivora now…anxiety

Cryomancer: Before my break, wasn’t Cryomancer a good PVE class (even before the last huge balance patch)? I mean, sure, give them more PVE damage, if that is what you think they need…And they removed Frozen Land?! C’MON!!! And old Hail came back on a different skill as a Vaivora effect. Isn’t that a second iteration of Fire Bolt? Anyway, cool to see Cryo buffs. JOIN THE CULT OF THE ICE!!

Taoist: New vaivora and skill factor were adjusted. How much should I be worried for this second part? And, good Lord, this Vaivora is even more convoluted than Annihilate. Buffs half of the Taoist’s kit already at level 1. Good grief…

And now it is official: the only Wizard class not having a Vaivora is Alchemist! … and 0 expectations in ever coming too…

Won’t comment on the content update because I was out for way too long to even know what is happening now.

Now I wonder how much a troll is Saint Oath on Kelaunos…

That’s not how I understand it. We will get it in April as we should have imo. As I understand the class remakes are those that will come irregularly from now on. Am I wrong?
Next month would have been a swordman remake month for example so that won’t happen I guess… Idk what it means tho like will they remake classes from other trees?..or nothing will come next month?..

Also we only rly had Sadhu remake yet… The last remake month would have been for scout and I have no idea if hakapellita is considered a new class…or a class remake… xD that’s an odd one…

So it’s maybe not even cleric who got the short end of the stick… it’s questionable now if we can expect alchemist/sapper/hunter… etc. remakes at all…

Idk I made the mistake to not try other sets with my chaplain when I could…and saint oath seems quite bad on it… idk what about SR tho

Saint Oath just works on first line dmg from Basic Attack, in the other words bination buff or limacon buff
Saint Oath doesn’t work on Aspergillum buff for exemple.

I don’t complain about the blood part, I complain about how the class has lost all the things that made it unique and now it’s just another aoe caster class with only damage skills and a sp consumption gimmick.

And now that the numbers are out you can see it has too many rank 1 skills, underwhelming damage and an underwhelming vvr.

The new class looking hella fun only makes it even worse

Labels aside, Hackapeliter is a new class that Scouts can choose, nuff said. We also probably won’t get a new Cleric class until at least May or June since IMC revised their schedule to 2-months interval per patch.

On a side note, I find it funny how IMC has been ninja-nerfing Zealot and Chaplain every week in the bug-fixes section lately, starting with Pardoner no longer extending Vaivora debuffs two weeks ago, then making Emphatic Trust not work with Visible Talent last week, and now finally making it so Divine Stigma can no longer stack for Saint Oath this week.
