Episode 13-2
New story to the prison, go beat up beholder guy with Pajauta.
New Goddess Raid
New raid is , you fight Medusa. Her actual name is Vasilisa.
Have to do automatch to gain access to hard mode just like Giltine.

Enter through Kirtimas Forest. You cannot harm monsters inside without a buff from an NPC, costs 1 million silver for 1 hour.
However, guilds that own a GTW map can add their own NPC that allows users to enter for only 500,000 silver, and the money will go toward the guilds.
First floor of dungeon is tough but soloable. Second floor has roaming boss monsters, designed for parties.

Silver drops from enemies in this dungeon. All reward items can be marketed.

Challenge Mode Changes
No longer stationary in one spot. Automatch takes you to a different map every day and asks you to clear the map of enemies.

Field CM is now solo only with assisters, cannot party. Does not drop silver, vaivoras, nor goddess coins. Now drops mercenary badges, nucle/sierra powder, and grants high EXP.
Hero’s Story
A dungeon where you defend against monsters.
Your gear and stats do not matter here, it is casual content, you fight in stages, can enter through mercenary badge shop ticket.
As you do hero’s story you can unlock new attributes to increase your power in the content, and unlock special equipment for use only in that content to make you better in that content.
Clearing gives you goddess coins, arts books, attribute points, and later will be special exclusive items as a weekly ranking reward.
Bounty Hunt
Bounty Hunt is done by a bounty paper item that drops from the new hunting ground and the new field maps. You use it at the board in town and the bounty hunt will start.
This is solo content, it will pick a random location and you have to go there within the time limit, you cannot warp there through any means such as token/portal shops/etc and you must get there yourself.
Enemies will appear as you travel through the fields to your destination and try to kill you, they must die to advance.
At the end a special boss spawns (giant popo in this case), success will give Breaths of Power, goddess coins, Ether Gem Fragment, Ether Gem Socket Key.
Remnants of Bernice
Remnants of Bernice is like Nephilim Rifts from D3 now. You start a stage of your choice based on how high you’ve gotten, try your best to clear the next stage. Your stage clear record is never reset and you’re able to attempt a stage up to +5 higher than your highest you’ve cleared. You attempt to clear as many stages as you can within 15 minutes.
Each stage lasts 3 minutes with regularly spawning monsters. If you clear enough monsters, the next stage will start immediately.
Higher stage grants a better chance of upgrading your ether gem at the end from the kupole, and a player ranking exists based on how high people have gotten. All existing rankings are removed, new rankings are based on highest stage cleared > time taken > who got there first. Upgrading requires Bernice Shards and more can be purchased with Mercenary Badges. Clearing grants 3-5 upgrade attempts.
Ether Gem Fragments are obtained from Bounty Hunt and can be combined to make a gem. Fragments can be marketed, gems are team storage only. You need Ether Gem Socket Key to unlock the socket on your goddess weapon to put it in, along with Archstone Fragments and Golden Sockets.
Goddess Coins
Trade in goddess coins you obtain in content for stuff. The shop will change and new coins will be used when the season changes. There will be an off-season shop.
Unique Raids
All Unique Raids are removed, can still do the quests.
Can trade for their weapon appearances, Moringponia recipes, and cards with Mercenary Badges. Remaining soulshards convert to Mercenary Badges on use. Can now use Skiaclipse Varna Weapons and Glacia Legenda weapons for weapon appearances.
Food Table
Food tables can now be placed in town, no longer require base camps.
New Goddess Grace Legend Reward
New Goddess Grace legend reward is Gabija Crystal. There are three of them.
If you collect all 3, you can finish a collection that gives a permanent +2000 ATK to your team. These are only available in the top reward and they replace the archstones. They are 3 different gems and you must collect all 3.
They can be marketed, and they are seasonal. After the season ends, new crystals are available, and the old ones are purchasable with 10,000 Goddess Coins each.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the 1st Developer’s Blog though I understand its ultimately good for the game, but this 2nd one … this what we get for Common Class cancellation, more farming? To be fair, this is just initial plans that may change, but eh …

What about that new content for the assisters? Did they drop the idea or is it part of this hero challenge? …as usual I totally disagree with 4Ikruzeth.
From what I can see, the update is actually good if it comes out that way. You only need to do the new Hunting Ground and Bounty Hunting to get progress done, and some Bernice to upgrade the new gems.
Also,with the deletion of the unique raids, events can no longer force you to go there for additional xyz currency, so I hope these will be more free as well. No longer having to go out for CMs to get silver is also a big plus, even if they added more things to “grind”.
One thing they should do is to ultimately fuse CM with Hero’s Story so you can train up in the solo mode and then go for Hero’s Story: Division Singularity as a party to mow down enemies en masse with your trained skills and abilities. That way, both CM and DS would be saved, CM as exclusively solo to train your char and prepare for the party challenge, and DS as the party challenge that gives the actual loot worthy the training.
Hero’s Story achievements should also be taken into consideration to make make harder content (like top tier raids) more accessible for casual players, at the cost of receiving less loot (just as you disable boss mechanics for Misrus/Tel Harsha for less rewards).
That way, TOS would be less stress but more linear in progression, featuring two ways to progress, one being gear and one being actual game mode progression (Hero’s Story) that can substitute for each other to make the game less exhausting and more individualistic, where every player can create his/her own mix of progression/goal setting.
It’s far from perfect but looking at it, it’s not as bad as I thought it would be, maybe TOS has a small chance to live as a niche grinding MMORPG. The devs can still sink this,though, if they take back some of the plans.
Hero challenge (Hero’s quest) is a separate mode, the assister mode will be presented in detail in a later post.
Haha I acknowledge the Developer’s Blog is probably in the right direction and is generally for the good of the game moving forward, I’m just probably in the sheer minority, or probably the only one, that isn’t excited for all the farming, new peripherals and anything mentioned in this Developer’s Blog. In the end, the only thing that’ll convince me otherwise is when the actual patch itself (not plans that can change at the drop of a hat) lands on the hands of the players and I see for myself the new set of Dailies/Weeklies IMC has in store (as if the current list isn’t enough to scare new players).
Its just me and my own opinion though, I get it. Simply hoping for another Developer’s Blog 2 weeks later instead (seems like next week is PvP changes with the game’s wonky class balancing, so I’m praying for a Developer’s Blog 4). Current players will simply adapt and overcome whatever IMC throws our way, after all.
I did stop playing after glacia update because im tired of endless grind and game is moving in wrong direction where gear is more important than skills like arc that just doubles your damage alone and you cant rly enjoy the game… i cant even automatch because i dont have arc
For exampe im playing genshin where i can do daily under 30min and then im enjoying exploration, story and events where ocassionaly something drop… only lvl progressing is slow but still better than ToS
My suggestion is to make something that u dont have to grind to get decent gear that takes more time but still it allows us to gear up while left behind and balance gear or improve skills/classes
- Active/dynamic events in abbandoned maps that scales with your level
- Make content with ferrets and rainforest i rly enjoyed that map… for example some strong race from afar invades rainforest and players has opportunity to help them and join their forces for rewards and stuff
- Instead of removing old content just improve it and add new gear or mats as drop
- Make dungeon type for assisters (not tower) where they can get alot of exp and drop some of new mats/gems
- Make some skill combinations and free of choice gear enchancements for skills… vaivora could be still used for fruther skill improve (for now vaivora is only source for skill boost and forces you to lock on one build)
- Improve leveling in the game… for example in Blade & Soul you can lvlup just doing main story ignoring side quests from 1 to 60+HM15 (where HM39 is max) in one day if lazy… then u can start doing half of the content and grind stuff or just daily/weekly
Meanwhile in ToS after mainstory and sidequests we have to grind hard to reach lv250 - Stop doing everything at once and focus on important lifesaving stuff
I forgot to mention they killed whole point of classes… so many combinations but we cant rly gear them up
back in old days where build matters we could have 10+ chars and still do content
You need to understand that you are not harming the bots, secondary or third-party accounts, but the new players, removing the silver even more is not the best way, it just hinders the projection of the game itself. Many people like me don’t have time 24 hours a day to make content to equip themselves, many people in my country work, study and some have children to raise, we play for fun, not to turn the game into a life.
I hope the developers read this and understand that making the game too difficult gets in the way of those who have little time to play it. And that new players are looking for things that are easy and simple to play, imagine who is now starting to see all these mechanics to equip themselves, while leaving TreeOfSavior and looking for other simpler games.
they aren’t doing that,they are doing the opposite. You can farm the new hunting ground for silver, so there is no more daily/weekly limit on how much you can get. This means that instead spending hours on the weekend on silver gain, you can go into the new HG and spend time there and find useful items to upgrade your equipment + silver.
Remember, you will effectively need a lot less money (and materials) to reach endgame equipment (goddess equipment no longer costs silver to enhance, ark and luciferi requirements drastically reduced, same goes for vaivora upgrades), the only real silver sink left is upgrading res sacrae.
The whole point was sunk in 2018 when they pulled out Re:build as a panacea to address their bad balancing. I doubt that they will ever be able to make classes distinctive again with their current agenda, which is just a bunch of grinding and cosplay for $$$.
Well,grinding is never really exiting if the game is as lame as ToS, but the point of this update is that you can limit your grinding to a few contents instead of having to do everything that is available. HG also allows to grind whenever you have time, so you can progress at your own tempo, not losing out on anything if you cannot do anything for a week or two.
Heck,you can just grind one whole day per month and still make progress if RNG doesn’t betray you, and with the new equipment, you investment is not lost if you fail on the upgrades,either.
By taking out the artificial pacing(forced weekly progression instead of casual gaming), there is a lot they can do to try and fix the game.
That does not make ToS a good game by any means, but at least the players will be burnt out way less and field/grind players who like to stay on a single map for hours will have a reason to keep playing, instead of waiting in content queues or trying to make parties for raids that are bound to fail.
It’s funny how there are people who think the game is difficult (I hear a lot of the opposite) or that you need to farm 24 hours, which in my view is false the purpose of having limited entries in certain contents is exactly for players not to feel obligated to do 100 singurarity or dg in a row.

That bounty hunt sounds like their answer to the commerce system I asked for. Not gonna lie I would have been happier with commerce because cute backpacks/carts and things that could’ve come with it BUT still there is at last something that uses maps. I’m happy about it.
That … made little sense but I digress. In the end, the best way to change the minds of doubters like mine is for the patch itself to go live for players to experience, and there’s plenty of time to wait for it.
