I totally agree. I’d be in favour of stats maybe contributing an additional 10% of current values or so, but it would be much too linear, and devalue equipment for basically no advantage. If done correctly, equipment can be a great source of content, and can potentially even be made to lessen the effects of power creep.

While the levelling process does need an overhaul, it would have to require even more than that to accommodate mostly stat based progression, or else it would just mean running a dungeon a few times to “progress.”

TOS’s current system has the advantage of a more balanced approach, where levelling and equipment are rewarding, along with other sources. With further tweaks it can be made even better.

The easy way to deal with it is:

P Atk = (Wepon Damage / 2) x (STR)
something like that I just give a random math, and other thing
Wepons are totally for Min and Max Dmg, why dont give more effects?
Like, 20% more damage in mediuns, 50% more dmg on boss, 50% more damage on Earth Tower Monsters, 30% more dmg on Cleric Class, etc etc etc This will make the game MUCH more fun, much more stat based, the builds possible with this will be so fun…

But the game balance on keeps getting worst. The Devs are probaly playing other game…

Absofruitly. If you’ve ever seen either my own or @Nekorin’s posts we dislike the lack of gear variety and are major proponents of gear additions and rebalancing to make it more variable. The problem I have with increasing stats usefulness too much, is regardless of those weapon effects, at the end of the formula, it’s all about damage. If stats do most of the damage, no amount of interesting effects on equipment matters.

Well we just need a healthy medium.
Right now transcendence and refining matter way too much, far more than it ever should.

The effect of weapons is so great, you can go through most (maybe all) of the content in game without adding any stat points, pretty silly.

All that reminds me one thing: Silver amounts for more Upgrade, more dmg, more trans, = P2W. Something like that, and now, thats going to came for def to.

Or, they could embrace their design FURTHER and take damage away from stats completely. We get gear for damage and stats for survivability. They haven’t (can’t) balance both being source of damage anyway.

  • RO balanced? Hugely no
  • RO Stat system? Only AGI and VIT are useful
  • RO items are basically how to bot these items. AFK farm and botters in ToS is not crazy af thanks to ToS Alchemist/Necro being only material farm dependant…

If you’re playing 1999 Ragnarok version (I don’t even know when it’s released as I only played right before renewal released) maybe you can call it balanced. In 2017 it’s certainly not RO you’ll used to be… Plus 99 of 100 people always get wrong mechanic thanks to them playing private servers…

People are talking about 2k era when they state RO was balanced, ofc no one will tell you the actual RO is balanced.

Then you basically not playing the game right? Please never compare RO until you can actually explain the mechanic one by one… I won’t talk about RO mechanic when it needs many words to do…

Upload your screenshot from RO and it must be 2017 date with decent character… Until then nothing from your post really helpful. ToS never intend to copy RO, Mist Walker company got FF creator there, is he need to make every game must be like Final Fantasy? No… He got his own game and he still talk about FF but past is past, it’s up to player to play his game or FF…

Not anymore, I don’t have time to spend so much time in this game, I played it for 7 years, that’s pretty ok I think, a waste of time and I don’t want to jump in again.

Where did I say that ? Plus first trailers came with “RO Successor” words… But you can deny it, many people are denying the truth, nothing to be ashamed of. Remember my post ? Don’t bring RO here, you will trigger WKs, and here we are.

I don’t even know what is Mist Walker nor why you try to bring this here. Square Enix worked with Eidos (or whatever their name is right now) for Tomb Raider, did they say “Tomb Raider is FF successor” ? Who’s not able to understand that ?

ToS is not too bad. We just need IMC to be faster in applying new updates on iTOS and, if possible, allow players to buy costumes directly by TP instead of locking it to gacha.

Anyway, tos is just a casual game. We should not expect too much.

New saalus is bad, 5 minutes to finish a run that is too much time, people with many alts like me will suffer even more than now.

This is basically the same as area of ruins. Difference is you interact with objects instead of killing them. Looks like the bosses are also as pain in the ass as area of ruins.

On the other hand you now only have to do a single run on each char to receive 2 +1(token) cubes each.
