My chips on a previously unannounced/datamined class.
There is no Swordsman specific issue, when you have 3x the base hp and can slot con. While range is particularly an issue this is decreased marginally by the higher run speed that Swordsman can get. In the case of mounted classes or other speed boosts, the movement speed boost is diminished in relative value.
Most importantly outside of Swordsman C2/C3. All other Swordsman have the ability to enhance their physical block capabilities.
Highlanders Cross-Guard and Paltestas Guard attributes. So of the three starting routes, Swordsman C2, Highlander and Paltesta, the only way you lack enhanced blocking is if you pick Swordsman C2.
Since Weapon swapping is a thing, its always possible to keep your Guard weapon on hand for when its needed.
Swordsman are valuable in PvE given their ability to serve as the frontline with that 3x HP. Sure other classes can also lead the charge or attempt to “Kill them before they kill us”, but Swordsmans HP (and Swashbuckling if acquired…which also boosts max hp) gives you a clear player to organize initiation around.
Things are getting to a place where the 4 base classes all have many appealing classes that while may not be in balance with each other, all have a level of efficiency that is acceptable for the most part. It’s more about specific classes/circles now that aren’t up to par.
Swordsman C2/C3 is still lacking in proper flow with its stun reliance that it cannot do by itself.
Wizard C2 sucks, but most of the wizard class is potent at this moment so just don’t take Wizard C2 unless you’re forced to (aka taking wiz C3).
Clerics are always attractive from Heal alone.

I bet on Pied Piper haha… That seems more mysterious to be just a normal class than others to me but we will see. …and I expect it next week but maybe they are still watching Rune Caster and how it works…
Cannot wait for the Pied Piper possibility! It’s too enticing a class. I am hoping it can be next week as well. Also, there’s an NPC artwork called Alf. He looks like a Pied Piper already to me.

Snatchings also Striking based apparently so max the attribute first.
Should be a mandatory skill for all hunters. 100% bonus, + Bows 100% bonus (since it is a flying enemy) Works on bosses. First boss youll face as a Hunter is going to be The shadowgale in tenet chapel which is a flier, so raise it for that instance so you can quickly shred it. Most party members deal strike or slash damage so its excellent for flying bosses atm. It can also crit.
Quick test at Corlyus’s. Level 8 Snatching (savage bow ftw?). 4.6k crit, 12 Duration. Corlyus’ are weak to strike. 40% bonus to striking from the attribute. Think you’d be making a big mistake not to have this skill as a priority if you build Hunter. EZ arde farm at low levels. Just tuck the pet away and then bring it out as you rush to the boss if you’re not doing full clears with a party for some reason. Hit snatching, watch it melt.
If I was doing this again, 1 point in Coursing, 1 point in retrieve, max Rushdog, Max Snatching, +10 or higher Savage bow. Put points in pointing to use on Non-flying bosses so the party gets an evasion boost instead.
Edit: or don’t max Snatching, between the two overheats there isn’t really a lot of enemies that can survive even 10s of it for a considerable amount of time.
Maybe we can call ice wall OP since it can be used good with other multi hit skills :))
talking from experience, I couldnt course a oracle in icbt2 , but retrieve would work just fine.
If they didnt fix the pet issues though all you have to do is jump and pet wont be able to do anything anymore.
That means Retrieve might be a level 2 status ailment.
What do you mean? Once you jumped, the pet won’t do anything at all?

yeah let me explain better.
1 - You use the skill the hunter kinda points in a direction, then after like 0.5s the pet runs to target and tries to bite him
2 - Target jumps before pet gets to it
3 - Now pet can’t do anything, he keeps following target but is unnable to follow commands or attack.
The oracle told me it was an issue with jump and that would happen with other skills as well. I hope that was/is fixed.
Oh, so when you use it in PvP, if the opponent jumped before your pet could reach them, the bug will occur.
Dang, that’s bad. Rush is one of the primary DPS skill for hunter.
and keep explaining:
1- You use Rush Dog, Retrieve, Coursing
2- Your pet glitches and stay.
3- You use again.
4- A random “damageable” object like trap, wall, another person get in the way
5- Your pet hit the closest one.
6- You need to be like a melee character to hit some mob or specific player.
IMC needs to fix the Companion AI before hunter becomes a nice class, this patch they tried to mask the glitching Companion AI as long all companion spells go to the closest target from hunter. Maybe with a nice party mobbing like gods you can enjoy the AoE strike of rush dog or the cursing debuff, but for PvP, Bosses and Random groups is really hard to use the Hunter class.
Of course ToS have much more and important problems than Companion AI, but they need to notice that put the closest monster as skill target is a temporary measure.
